If I could give this place less than a star I would! The pharmacy NEVER answers the phone and rudely tells you to wait then clicks you to hold. I just hung up after waiting for an hour and a half! This is the third day in a row this has happened. What do you have to do to talk to a pharmacist about your prescription!? The lines are always very long. The staff doesn't know whether to service the line, answer a phone call or service the drive up window. Usually the phone get ignored altogether! They either need more staff or need to retrain their current one because this is frustrating! read more

I find it fascinating that this location has so many staff members but only one person in the pharmacy drop off for prescriptions. After waiting approximately 15 minutes I was told that they needed more information from the doctor and that they would fax the individual. Guess what- they never faxed it. I got ahold of the physician's office and they got right on it. I went back to the pharmacy and the pick up window could not make any of the scanning work and seemed perplexed by their system. In the meantime, my physician's office called me to make sure that I got the medication since they had called them three times to only be put on hold. I gave them a 2 because the staff members seemed nice but inefficient and they had a medication my regular pharmacy did not carry. read more

Great, now all of you will know where I pick up my meds... =p I love the fact that this place is 24 HOURS!!! CVS in general are awesome since the keep stock of everything you can possibly imagine! After a late night this store is like an oasis, bright florescent light beaconing you to come in and impulsively buy stuff you may or may not need. Do get a free CVS card! The extra CVS cash they give back to you and discount on household items is not too shabby. I always get randomly printed receipts such as $3 off $15. One of the few CVS that carries certain makeup and skincare line like Vichy. But I recently discovered that Target carries them too now. Theres always one cashier available and all the others are self-checkout counters. A regular normal size CVS and theres a lot of homeless people around maybe its because its by the Metro station. The store, itself is small. But always stocked and customer service here is great. They treat you well and speak to you with respect no matter what time it is. This CVS has the things i need. It is annoying when you go to a place for a specific, not uncommon, item and they are out. I have been to this CVS numerous times and the ratio is 20 to 1, whuch is meet by me. The fact that they have ac us handy, especially during summertime. As an aside, the staff is friendly, perhaps told to be so but still that's better than them being snotty or indifferent; they seem, for the most part, more likely that way (kind) than not. read more

Update: It's 2021 and an place still sucks. At least the pharmacy is. Is CVS so poor they can't hire more pharmacists and pharmacy technicians? The lines at the drive through and inside the store are always a mile long. That's why when the CVS on South Lake opened, they I moved my prescriptions there. But, guess what, they closed it abruptly!!! So now I'm back to this location. The staff are nicer, but the efficiency is just plain sad. read more

I stopped by my cvs pharmacy, 15 minutes before closing, to pick up antibiotics for my little kids, who were crying from bad earaches. We had just left urgent care. It was hours after their bedtime. The mood was stressful and desperate. The pharmacy wouldn't fill my prescription because they said they don't mix prescriptions 15 minutes or 20 minutes before closing. I pointed to the posted hours, that said the pharmacy closed in 15 minutes. They wouldn't fill it. If I had known this, I could've stopped by another cvs closer to urgent care. I appealed to the pharmacy manager, then to the store manager. I was told there were too many people ahead of me that needed prescriptions mixed, so there wouldn't be time for mine to be mixed before closing. So, not only was this rule not posted or adjusted for in posted pharmacy closing times, but the manager also lied to me, because the whole time I sat there in the drive through, I never saw anyone check out or approach the cash register in the store. They wanted to close early. Also, the store manager recommended I drive ten miles to the Silverlake cvs, when there were other locations much closer than that. Zero help. We really rely on our pharmacy with little kids always sick, and for regular medications. I don't trust this store anymore. And it is just a bad memory. Pass on cvs. read more

I visited this store on Monday (9/19/22) just to get a few snacks. I had grabbed some cookies seeing as how they were on sale. When I brought them up to the register apparently they were not on sale and they had been mislabeled fortunately for me the shift manager Michael came over and honored the price for me seeing as how it was a misunderstanding and I truly appreciated that, the cashier Calvin was a big help as well. PLEASE check the expiration dates on anything and everything you will be putting in your month that comes from this store! I purchased a protein bar which has been expired for almost half a year! I didn't know it until I opened it and it had MOLD. I'm not used to checking exp. dates on every item because I assumed stores that sold food would have people managing their inventory and expiration dates. This is the second time I buy something expired from this store. A salad in the refrigerator!!! In the refrigerator!! First time it happened I told and employee who said he would take care of it. This time I told a manager who looked like a teenager and didn't seem to care what I was saying. Then he said he would "tell the manager" Take this serious! Make it right! Today I was told by a lady that gave me a dirty look on march;1st 2018 that no public restrooms are available at this location. I was greeted by the security guard then followed around the store. The guard lurking in near distance to where I was browsing. As a black woman I felt incredibly uncomfortable and can only presume that the white guard suspected me of stealing based on the color of my skin. Other black people will understand this to be common and unacceptable behavior that we endure in environments where security and law enforcement officers suspect the worse from people of color. I'm local to the area and was physically no threat having visited that CVS multiple times before. And had no problem with their black security guard or others. read more

Worst pharmacy I've ever used. Not the busiest but after figuring out how to process a prescription for an hour, they told me 45 minutes until it would be ready. Went back, was told another 20 minutes. Went back after 30 minutes - they told me 5 minutes. Go somewhere else if you have other options. read more

I traced the white lines on the old Pasadena freeway, curving left, then curving right. 50, 55, 60, my poor little boy at home his fur skunkified, 65, it's 1am - how did I get here?, 70, the vet said to get hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and saline solution, 75, 80, and here comes the final bend at 85mph and now slowing to make the light -- the 110 deposits me onto Arroyo Seco Blvd in S. Pasadena, home to very few 24 hour places - one of which is an IHOP, but as much as I could have used a flapjack to ease the stress, I kept going until I hit the CVS parking lot. Now I hoped that I'd just walk in, and due to the sense of urgency, just hone in on what I needed and get back to my car, but CVS has lots of stuff. I peruse the toothbrush isles, and the hair products, where the F would they put the hydrogen peroxide? Being that this was no time for pride, I swallowed mine and actually asked where to find what I needed. The long haired stoner/surfer dude knew exactly which isle everything was at, and he told me straight out, without dilly dallying or asking me needless questions. Thank you dude, I'll try and hook you up one day. Next, damn, forgot the Saline solution, so I ask another employee. A home girl with a sweet smile, a few extra pounds, and raven black hair directs me exactly to the spot I needed to be. I bee line up to the cashier and chuck a pack of dark chocolate covered M&M's on the counter just for good measure, then back to the car with my stash. I made it back and washed my little Terrier boy with this supposedly magic solution. You know what, next time I'm using tomato juice. But CVS came through for me, and I noticed a couple of things for the future: They have a 24 hour pharmacy, and you drive through it at night, AND they have lots of alcohol! Mostly wine coolers and that kinda thing but hey, a 24 hour source of booze. Good to know. Why I didn't grab a Boones strawberry wine on my way out I'll never know. Worst cvs ever. Convienent location to my job but going to have to switch back to my other location further away in Koreatown that also has a drive through. I went there for 3 years before switching to this location since it was closer to work, and never had to wait in line there. I've been coming here for the last 8 months and every single time is gets worse and worse. They never send me text reminders that my prescription is ready. I have to call them every time and remind them, and then I have to wait. Wait on hold on the phone, wait for them to put the prescription together, wait for everything! The drive through line is always a wait even if there's one car in front. Same with the line inside at the pharmacy and regular check out line. Do not come here. read more

I don't think there is anything incredible or outstanding about this CVS. It is a solid location with nice and dependable staff. They have always answered my questions when I needed them. I feel like this location deserves a solid 4 star. I am inclined to lower that to a 3 star because anytime you come here after 10:30pm there are drunk bums all over the parking lot near the tracks. Usually, they will just ask for money but one time this guy walked up wearing nothing but torn denim shorts and tried to hug me and my girlfriend. I was worried he would puke on us because he could barely stand. This was a very bad experience but it was also not the CVS or its employee's fault. BUT... You also have to give them credit for being open 24 hours! That goes a long way with me. +1 star. read more

Alternating between one and two stars here, just because one star seems harsh. However, the reality of this cvs pharmacy is that it is the worst I have ever been to. I only go there because the location is convenient, but if I had a dollar for every time they gave me flack, well, I wouldn't be complaining about my horrible deductible. The pharmacy staff is extremely ornery. And every time I go to refill a script, there seems to be a problem. Each time I immediately take my script to a different pharmacy, and like magic, there is no problem whatsoever. TOP-notch CVS with impeccable service, right in my backyard. Let me give you an example of why this place is so money: I had a couple Stones earlier this evening while finalizing my company website with a colleague in SF, when suddenly I got this overwhelming, inexplicable urge for a foot long tuna sandwich from Subway. And more beer. The Gelsons supermarket next to the local Subway at Colorado and Marengo that doubles as my personal kitchen was already closed, so I figured the liquor store next to the Subway on Arroyo Parkway must still be open and probably has a decent beer selection. After driving down there and ordering my delicious tuna sandwich on jalapeno cheese bread, I walked over to the liquor store in the adjacent complex, only to discover that it, too, was closed! What was I going to do? Sure, the CVS was a measly 50 yards away, but drug stores in general have beer selections that make In n Out Burger's menu appear broad... ...I thought to myself, as I walked through the door of the CVS. Laziness is heavy cross to bear. By sheer luck, I discovered that this location is one of the few in the CVS chain to carry Sierra Nevada, which happens to be one of my most trusted "backup" brews. Content with my selection, I grabbed a six pack and walked back towards the cash registers. All of a sudden, to my BEWILDERMENT, I spotted him: Short, stoic Indian man wearing a twill Masters golf hat. Surly demeanor. Unreasonably lofty expectations for everyone he interacts with in life, both personal and business affiliations. PIERCING stare. Mean dude. The anti-Gandhi. FUCK, It was one of my clients, and I'm scheduled to tour a technology company through his building tomorrow morning! What the hell was I supposed to do? "Oh hi B*****, don't mind me, just another boring Wednesday work night. I promise I wont smell like beer on the tour tomorrow." Yeah, that would be well received. I started to panic as he slowly marched to the back of the line with a stack of generic three-ring binders -- probably for his expansive tax return -- and I was at the end of it! I had to avoid him, I thought to myself as I scanned the store nervously for an exit strategy. Luckily, the middle-aged female CVS attendant working this evening with the pink spots in her hair must have a canine-esque sixth sense, because she recognized my plight, pointed in my direction and said: "Did you find it? Come on up!" Taking advantage of the opportunity, I cut in front of the confused line of customers just in the nick of time before my client reached the queue. "Thank you so much, how did you know I was trying to avoid that guy?" "Honey, I just know. Now are you sure you have toilet paper and soap at home? I know how you bachelors are." Crisis, averted. My doctor's office is right next door. That is where the benefits of this CVS ends. They usually dont have the medication my doc prescribes for me monthly, but when they do, 95 percent of the time it is approximately an hour and a half wait. The Walgreens on Lake has always been infinitely better. read more

Perfect location, worst operations and service. It regularly takes forever to check out. If you are buying alcohol, can't self check out. They tell you this after you go through the whole process and tell you to go to the counter, where you wait for 5 minutes before someone gets there to check you out. Also the pharmacy is ridiculous. I had two prescriptions called in for me. I showed up three days later to find that one was filled, the other wasn't. They didn't even realize there was a second one. When I finally got my prescriptions, no apologies for not filling a prescription when it was called in. Will not return to this location. read more

I usually love this place because the drive through pharmacy is so easy but today the pharmacist was extremely rude to me after I got verbally harassed. I was waiting to send my prescription up in the tube but the pharmacist wouldn't send me the tube (usually it's waiting there to send up). I wait for 10 mins and she won't even look in my direction, and then this man comes up to me (my car door is open) and asks me for money. I tell him I don't have any (because I didn't) and he starts yelling at me that I'm a disgusting piece of shit and all of this stuff. Finally I get him to walk away and then the pharmacist wouldn't even just take my prescription to let me leave or call security. She just told me i needed to keep waiting and got mad at me as well. read more

Pharmacy staff is courteous but disorganized. They tend to make assumptions such as that you're not waiting for the prescription or that you're not coming back until 6 hours later. This leads to wasting a lot of the customer's time. And let's not forget wasted gas - if it takes you three trips to the pharmacy within three hours and they still don't have your prescription filled - you're wasting time, and money (gas). That was my first experience here. Unfortunately, they're the only 24-hr pharmacy in Pasadena so if you have no other choice but use this pharmacy, definitely tell them that you are waiting for it even if you're not. Otherwise, this is one of the cleanest CVS stores and they have security in the parking lot at night. Helpful hint: there's a Starbucks across the street you can walk to while waiting for your prescription to be filled. read more
