The pharmacy is the most ridiculous at this location so choose another. I called asking about them printing off my prescription history and they specifically asked how far back would I need. So, I said I need a history for the last 10-15 years. I was cheerily told to just come on in and they would do that. I immediately went in to be told I can get 3 years only. And, I quote the pharmacist here: " So if you need more you will need to call your insurance and I know that sounds like a pain in the a*$ but that's all Walgreens will do. So I used AI to know better and As surely as God Almighty lives, I found the form for requesting the records by fax or email to a Walgreens which is set up for this purpose. Should a pharmacist be so sure to be so unsure and unprofessional with their speech? I appreciate you reading and doing well for yourself so advise another pharmacy and location if you want folks to direct you with real knowledge...about things pertaining to their job and/or Reason, in general.

Why five stars? One one occasion when they didn't have the medicine we needed, one of the pharmacists actually put on his coat and drove to another pharmacy to get it... WHILE WE WAITED! Is that awesome customer service. They have also stayed open for an extra ten minutes when I had to get my son's medication but couldn't make it there before closing. Can you believe that? What you get at ABD is old fashioned service that I thought perished from this planet in the 1950's. If you have intolerances to certain foods or fillers, they can accommodate you by offering you alternative fillers in your capsules. I E. if you are lactose intolerant, they can use coconut instead. If you have severe allergies, like me, a compounding pharmacy is a necessity. NOTE: Some insurance companies do not cover prescriptions filled at a compounding pharmacy. So, you must file forms to get payment reimbursed. These may be rejected for reimbursement, but you can appeal. THE DEAL: The pharmacist is so knowledgeable and friendly... He even printed out my insurance reimbursement forms and filled them out for me!

Even then it just means I'd need to call ahead of time to get them filled. A place like Walgreens in rochester handles literally thousands of prescriptions a week if not more all these people "I had to wait 20 minutes boo-hoo 1 star" "they were a bit short with me and didn't smile 1 star" are annoying. I have worked many a manufacturing/shipping jobs so imagine every order you pick and prepare is now dependant on if people show up and if doctors are auto sending scripts you don't want​ or not sending what you do need i imagine its hell on earth on the other side of that counter I once saw them dealing with understaffing and like half the people in a 10-15 minute line were loudly complaining or getting aggressive could you imagine being the one dealing with that? They've been great for me. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes and sometimes your doc or hospital or insurance or whatever mess things up for you. It's American Healthcare and its a S show, and the pharmacists are doing their best despite it all. Take a breath, consider having empathy for the human beings who are providing a service to you, it's gonna be ok. If you hate waiting so much get your boring meds delivered, though obviousoy be wary that your meds will be left at your door not in your mailbox if you aren't there to accept delivery. If you have issues with the broader health system well congratulations and welcome to the resistance but you're directing your frustrations and ire in the wrong place.

No one ever picked up as once the clock hit 1:30am, the system hung up on me for the pharmacy's scheduled meal break. When I called the store itself to see if the pharmacist was in, I was informed that they would not be 24/7 all week - but the answering machine and the store's website don't mention this at all, and still act as though the pharmacy is available. An hour and a half on hold, and not once did the machine mention that no one was there. Just update the machine if it's going to be a week long thing, I've seen other Walgreens locations do it before, this was beyond frustrating.

I'm amazed by how huge this store was and the variety of everything you could ever need and more. I also liked that there are different sections that have Maine Made items and that there are little signs that say "local" if you wanted to pick up some regional items. I really wanted to pick up some fresh Maine milk, and Maple BBQ sauce, but unfortunately since I was at the tail end of my roadtrip I couldn't take much expect for a small bag of salt and vinegar potato chips and my sandwich bags; however, if I come back to Portland, I'll know where I can buy some regional goodies!

Their automated system. I know this is a little thing, but it's so nice to know that I never need to check-in on those recurring prescriptions to make sure they've actually gone through. I get texts letting me know when things are ready, and phone calls from real people if I don't come in within a few days past when they can see my prescription has run out. If they do have to restock my prescription because I totally flaked and didn't come in, it takes just minutes for them to put the order back together. 2. The people who work. Time and time again I've seen them demonstrate patience, responsibility and respectfulness, and going the little extra mile with their regulars (to really get to know them and work with them). I've never been upsold, I've never been talked down to, and my privacy has always been taken very seriously. Whenever a concern comes up, I know I can talk to the pharmacist and get a real answer from a real person. I said it before, and I'll say it again: I know that pharmacies aren't necessarily the sexiest or coolest things in the world to a) talk about or b) go to, but everybody needs them.
