All I can say is get there early in the morning or later at night and you dont wait. CVS Is 24 hours so try and use it if possible...I always go early in the morning to pick up meds, the cool thing is they will call you or text you when your meds are ready. This review is just for the pharmacy. Though I tend to find customer service in this store pretty bad (and it is), the pharmacy is simply the horrendous. I am aware, of course, that Yelp! reviews run in polar extremes - something is either "the best ever" or "the absolute worst," with little in the middle to suggest some establishment is pretty good in some ways and lacking on others. Yet if you consider my reviews, I make an effort to render thoughtful assessments that include some nuance. And for this review, my considered opinion is that the pharmacy at this CVS is simply awful. Indeed, unlike some reviews any of us might make - which might be based on one visit to one experience - my review here is based on several years as a customer at this CVS. As of today, I am changing that, moving my business and my prescriptions to a local pharmacy. At issue is that this place routinely falls down on the job. Rather I should say that the employees routinely fall down on the job. A trio of related visits tell the tale. A while back my doctor had his office call in several prescriptions. When I went to pick them up, the pharmacy staff said they had no such prescriptions called in from my doctor. I rang his office the next day and they assured me that they had indeed called these in and offered to contact the pharmacy again to make sure the prescriptions were filled. I returned that afternoon to pay for and pick them up. A few weeks ago, one of these prescriptions needed refilling and my doctor sent his request via some electronic/online system in his office - he did so my presence. Yet when I went to pick up this refill, I was told that no refill had been called in. On site I called my doctor and put him on the phone with the pharmacy tech. Afterward they confirmed that, indeed, a prescription had been called in but they did not fill it because my doctor had called in a 90-day prescription and my insurance only approves 30-day refills. This would suggest that they could have called me to explain or reached my doctor so the refill order could be modified but simply did not, opting instead to simply not fill it - at both my inconvenience and possibly a poor health outcome! Yesterday I visited my doctor and he modified another prescription, again sending via some online program. Today I went to pick it up and, ONCE AGAIN, the pharmacy folks claimed nothing had been called in. I called my doctor and one of his front office people confirmed what had been sent in yesterday. She promised to get things handled and did. At CVS they claimed, again, not to know why this has been happening. In short, either the CVS system for physicians making prescription requests is broken or the employees are incompetent. I suspect both. In either case, I have seen no sense of anyone at CVS "owning" any of this. Imagine a gigantic company such as CVS being routinely unable to process prescriptions for fairly routine medications such that I have to do most of the work to get this filled! So, yeah, CVS is a fault. But what is the obligation of employees to play some role in remedying problems - being invested enough in their work beyond merely following whatever shows up on some screen the peer into? I suspect it won't be too soon until some of this work can be done by AI. I'd not like that since humans need jobs. But I also suspect AI will get the work done right and, ironically, probably offer a more human touch that one gets at this pharmacy. Ciao, CVS. read more

Because my prescription plan changed I changed from Walgreen's in Tarzana to CVS in Reseda. My first choice was the CVS in Tarzana (cor. of Rededa Blvd and Ventura Blvd) but the pharmacy at that store is seriously understaffed and was totally unable to handle the transfer of my record. So I decided to try the this store. Glad I did. The Pharmacist was congenial and very helpful in making the change. So far everything is working out quite well and the best part, the lines are far shorter than the CVS store in Tarzana and the Walgreens store. Four stars not five because their prices are higher on most general merchandise (groceries and other non-drug store) goods than most other stores (supermarkets, etc.) but my primary objective is a convenient full service pharmacy that answers its phone after only a ring or two. Parking is also much better at the Reseda store. Just a caution...despite a big sign on the window facing the parking lot that advertises that they are a 24 hr pharmacy they are not. Their regular hours are 8:00am to 10:00pm, shorter on weekends. The closest 24 hour store is (ugh) the Tarzana store. read more

I have never had such trouble with a pharmacy before. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first 2 times that wires had been crossed or the mistake had been on my end. But after careful & patient backtracking, the problem all stems from this pharmacy. I've been with my doctors office for 3 years & they have always been on top of everything, so they were confused themselves as to how my prescriptions weren't being filled when requested. After never receiving a call saying my prescription was filled, I called to check what was going on and Cvs said they never heard from them. Believing them, I called my doctors office in a huff trying to figure out what's the matter, to find out that my office had called them now twice so there was no reason for them to not have received the order (and yes we tripled checked to make sure the number was correct). This pharmacy is completely oblivious to a very big problem & refused to take responsibility for an issue that is clearly their fault. The store is fine, I'm reviewing the pharmacy. I've been going here for prescriptions for over a year, and I would say I have had an issue with getting them about 99% of the time. There haven't even been changes to them, it's the same 4 monthly prescriptions every time! It seems that no one communicates, the computer system either doesn't allow you to make notes or adjustments One rx I always wanted name brand, and EVERY TIME they would try and give me the generic, and when I insisted on the name they would try and rudely talk me out of it. Every month I asked them to make a note for no generic and they said they would, and every month they messed it up, even when I specifically called ahead to ensure they did the name brand, AND had my doctor check the "no generic" box on the physical RX. I've probably spent a cumulative 4 days in that store waiting for them to fix what they've messed up AGAIN. It's a nightmare. Also if you get the auto refills I hope you don't travel, because they auto refill to wherever you last picked it up. On travel in San Diego and need your rx filled? Next month it fills to that pharmacy and when you try and get it changed back they're HUGE dicks about it. How is that even logical? I'm on the hunt for a new pharmacy, the vast incompetency of this one is now literally a sad, sad, joke between my boyfriend and I, of how long it will take and how badly they'll screw it all up...and we somehow still manage to underestimate. After doing business with this group for years, They still treated me poorly. I need Opioids for pain due to cancer. They refused to keep it in stock and will not order till the date of refill. It sometimes takes two days to get it. So I'm out and in pain for between 1-3 days. So I tried a different CVS. My girlfriend is Black and upon seeing her before me the Pharmacist yelled we don't carry that stuff and never will! I am absolutely shocked this pharmacy is still even open!! Only because we slubs haven't a lot of choices!! The pharmacist is BEYOND RUDE!! Not only saying because I drove across the valley on hold for 18 minutes and her responds is "we're doing our best!!" Jeez what would be your worst!!?? Our family has lived in this community, three blocks from this store, for over thirty years. This has been our neighborhood pharmacy since this location was Savon - over fifteen years. My wife has an incurable neurological disease called RSD. Her pain management includes controlled pain medication, which we have been filling here for years. She is not collecting disability, and insurance does not cover her medications, which are expensive, but not a choice. We have been using a prescription discount card here for over a year, which alleviates a lot of the expense. I also pick up prescriptions here for other family, including my 94 year old grandmother, and a good friend, a disabled vet who also suffers from RSD. I am a caregiver and advocate - I take care of a lot of people. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Our relationship with our pharmacy has been a guarded one because, with chronic health issues, we need reliability we can depend on, and we have never had a problem here before. A few months ago, everything changed. A new manager, Mark, took over. Suddenly medications are out of stock and refills are not ready on time. There is visible disorganization and erosion of service in the pharmacy department. The new manager does not have his DEA number yet, so a lot of medications ran out and stayed out for a while. We had to make alternate arrangements for everybody's medications, but I kept trying here because this has been our home pharmacy for years. A couple months later, I took my wife's prescriptions for refill, and this time they had them in stock. I was told, by policy of the new manager, that our discount card will no longer be honored for controlled medications. This discount program is honored by CVS all over the country, Mark has decided to make an exception - controlled medications are no longer eligible for this discount. This discount exception is discrimination and an affront to patients with chronic illnesses whose quality of life depends on controlled medications. Many of these patients are on disability or other fixed income - that savings is important. What is the thought process behind increasing financial hardship on this group of patients? I wanted to speak to Mark about this. Two days ago, I took my wife's prescription for a controlled medication to be refilled. Mark was working the desk. I handed him the prescription - he did a double take, then went to see if it was in stock. A few minutes later, he came back and asked, "what is this for? This is a large quantity of this medication." I was startled because I have never been asked that before - I know everybody else here, and they just smile and help me - so I asked him, "are you a doctor?" His response was, "actually, my title is doctor, and I don't like your attitude. This is a large quantity of this medication and I need to know what it's for." I understand, he has that right. I attempted to tell him the name of the illness, and tell him about it. His response was that he thought I was rude, and he didn't like my tone. Then he told me has the right to refuse me service. He did not listen to a word I said; he had no interest in listening to me because he had decided it was more important to let me know who's boss. I told him to review the prescription history in the computer, which has been well documented for years. He did not even acknowledge that I said it. He wanted nothing to do with anything I had to say. This is not the treatment I am used to from the managers of my local CVS. I am used to a more professional level of conversation. I was stunned and appalled by his treatment - I took back the prescription. It is clear he does not want our business anymore. The relationship we had with CVS just evaporated. We have been using this pharmacy longer than Mark has been our of high school, and now it's toxic. The message is clear: there is a new sheriff in town that will second guess your doctor and talk more than listen. If you have a serious illness that requires treatment with controlled medications, or if you need a friendly and reliable pharmacy, spin the wheel or go anywhere else. This review is specifically for the pharmacy. I wish I could give it zero stars instead of one. This place is a complete nightmare, and there are problems every. Single. Time. I've been there. If you must patronize a CVS (as opposed to another company), check on Yelp for one with a better rating. At present, this location gets one star, while some of the other CVS stores in the area have three. There's a reason for that. My prescription coverage recently changed so that I must use CVS, so I tried to have some prescriptions transferred from our local Walgreens. The transfer was guaranteed by Tuesday. Two days later, on Thursday, I showed up to pick them up. After waiting in line for 15 minutes, an extremely rude pharmacy tech informed me, "We don't have any for you. You can wait in that line over there." And pointed toward a counter on the other side of the pharmacy. I explained they were supposed to be ready two days earlier and no one had contacted me to tell me there was a problem. "You have to wait over there," is all she said. After waiting another 15 minutes in the other line (and overhearing wait times of two hours for someone else trying to pick up a prescription), I got up to the front and was informed that they received the request to transfer but ignored it because they didn't have my insurance on file. Again, didn't contact me, didn't fill the prescription as they should have (and charge insurance when I came to pick up). They just plain ignored it. I gave him my insurance card and waited with everyone else to get my prescriptions. Several weeks later, I requested a transfer of two more prescriptions from Walgreens. When I hadn't heard that they were ready in four days, I called the pharmacy. Again, this CVS pharmacy had simply ignored the request. This time, it was because my insurance company, CVS Caremark, didn't cover those drugs and wanted you to use another brand. These are life-sustaining medications (I would live a few days without them, tops) and the pharmacy had simply ignored the issue. (I had a similar situation with Walgreens, and they had immediately contacted my doctor's office for an override, understanding the urgent nature of the medication and basic customer service/human decency.) The pharmacy tech on the phone literally told me, "I'm not familiar with your insurance company. I don't know how it works." Um, you're CVS and they're CVS. You'd think you could learn how to communicate within your own company. I had to make a number of phone calls between CVS Pharmacy, CVS Caremark, and the doctor's office to straighten it out, including being on hold for two hours with CVS Caremark. After several days, I got everything taken care of without a hint of help from the pharmacy, and not without being within hours of running out of medication. Although I had actually requested refills on two medications, I had to temporarily abandon efforts on the one I hadn't run out of, because this pharmacy basically forgot that I had requested the refill and I was going to have to go through the same nightmare triangle to that one through with zero help from the pharmacy. When I arrived to the pharmacy to pick up the medication, the entire pharmacy team just ignored me as I waited at the counter for about five minutes. Finally, the woman whom I believe is one of the actual pharmacists--in her late 30s, long dark ponytail, glasses, European accent--finally said, "Our system is down. You have to come back." I told her as politely as possible that CVS had delayed my prescription by a week, that it was a life-sustaining medication that I was out of, and asked her to please help--the only alternative was to go to the emergency room. SHE LITERALLY ROLLED HER EYES AND SHRUGGED AT ME. I begged her, and she pretended not to hear me. Finally,one of the techs walked over to me and said she'd try to ring up the medication. And she did, immediately, no problem. So much for the system being down. Shortly thereafter, I got a text from CVS saying that one of my prior prescriptions was out of refills, and asking if they should contact the doctor's office for authorization to refill it. I responded yes, and got a text back saying they would contact the doctor's office. A week later I hadn't heard anything, so I called, and sure enough, they had completely ignored the request to refill through their text system. (I decided at that point to put the request through another pharmacy instead. For goodness sake.) Unfortunately, I don't have the option of not using CVS, but I will never ever use this location again. Rude pharmacists, completely unhelpful, thoughtless and negligent. Not to mention that their check out and text systems apparently don't work. Do yourself a favor and don't darken their door. read more

I have been with this pharmacy location for almost 10 years. When the main Pharmacist Mohammed left, the place fell apart. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I liked one of the other Pharmacists, she was very kind. There is a new younger male Pharmacist whom I witnessed speak down to an elderly Black woman. The woman said 'this is the sixth time you have been out of my medication'. No one offered to help her look for the medication elsewhere, she was ignored. She even called them out on being racist. I don't care what the personal reason may be of the Pharmacist, but help the patient. YOU are only a Pharmacist, you are Not a Doctor so stop making these medical decisions for patients. You should have gone to Med School instead. My personal beef- they lowered a dose of my medication (with approval of my MD AND they left me a message to call them) without telling me when I picked it up. People you don't mess with a middle aged woman and her hormones. People have gone missing for that (I'm joking so chill). Then I came in to refill a prescription that I have to take daily and they said they were out of it. Okay.... I then found out they had 17 of the pills. Okay so I could have picked it up, then went and got another prescription for the rest of it. Let that be my decision to make. WTF is a PT doing making that decision for ME? Folks I work in the medical field. I'm not a freaking pill popper. I know what and why I'm on certain meds for.
