Here's the full review, clean and final -- point 2 restored to full strength: Exhausting is the only word for it. I understand prescriptions aren't every pharmacy's strength -- but at this point they'd be better off dropping the pharmacy counter entirely and running as a straight convenience store. Here's why, point by point: 1. They get the insurance wrong every single time. Every time. The charge comes back inflated, and when I catch it, the story is always that they "applied the discount program instead of my insurance." I've stopped treating it as a mistake. 2. I was shorted on a fill -- and billed for all of it. A four-week supply came up two weeks short. Two of the four weeks were missing from the bottle. When I raised it, the tech got flustered and fell back on "we have video of every fill and I handed you a bottle." She did hand me a bottle. It was half empty of what the label said was in it. They had no problem billing me for all four weeks. 3. There is no working inbound phone line. I know how that sounds. Try it yourself: (512) 452-7693. They don't answer -- they route you to voicemail and call back on their schedule, if at all. 4. The complaint process is a maze, by design. Staff will tell you the managing pharmacist is the top of the chain and every complaint must go through him -- via yet another voicemail box. A chain with roughly 9,200 locations is not run by one pharmacist in Round Rock. There is a District Leader for pharmacy. Corporate customer service will take a complaint directly, but only if you specifically ask them to bypass the store. Do it any other way and you get a callback from the very store you're complaining about. 5. The pattern points to management. Individually these are annoyances. Together they read as a location where incompetence is the norm and nobody above the counter is correcting it. Enough. Trust me or read the rest of the reviews -- the pattern's the same. Steer clear of this pharmacy unless you're just running in for chips and a drink. read more

This pharmacy has posted hour of opening at 9am. Arrived at 9:01am, 5 cars in line. Waited in thisline for 20 minutes, one by one, each car leaves. I get to windows, it's gated and no one there. ​I call, no answer. I call front, a foreigner with strong accent after not comprehending issue says someone will open windows. Young girl gets to windows, takes 3 minutes just to open it. No apologies-RUDE AS HELL-no explanation when asked why 10 cars had sat in line at this point with no help. Ignored every question, refused to give name, sat on her phone. I asked for manager-same foreigner comes over, says he's "filling in". Tries to explain away the nonsense, also refuses to give his name! Says they're both new, tries to apologize for the "child" previously at window. Says they usually put a sign up-NO SIGN THERE. This is my 2nd negative review of this CVS in 2 separate transactions. My father recently passed away from pneumonia and my younger brother nearly did when he was only 30. I had talked to my doctor about getting the vaccination just incase. He said people usually get it when they are 55+ or have diabetes. But he did think it was a good idea to go ahead since I have family history. He recommended to go to CVS because it would be cheaper since insurance does not cover this until I reach 55, and I was in my mid 40's. Called CVS to schedule appointment. The pharmacist did everything he could to NOT give me the appointment and treatment even though I told him the same thing I told my doctor. He cited I was too young. I even told him I can get a doctors note. He still trying to convince me otherwise and did not get me an appointment. I called CostCo, made appointment and was in and out. They did not ask for doctors note or anything. CVS is RECKLESS!!!!! Given I told the pharmacist of my family history, the pharmacist (or worker) all but denied me the vaccination. He was Asian sounding male. Serious training needed here. read more

I left the store at 8:55 and the supervisor locked the door behind me. I bought the wrong thumb brace and knocked on the door. After many attempts and a a half dozen rolled eyes the manager on duty refused my exchange. She kept stating we are closed. Even though there was a customer slowly checking out and that cash door still had to be counted and deposited. Worst shopping experience in a long time it cost me a total of 36.00 dollars for one brace that fit (26.00 at CVS and 10.00 at Walmart) The website posted hours on CVS state 9pm. You expect your pharmacist to be almost as knowledgeable as your doctor. You ask questions about your medications and trust them to provide you with what you need to get better. When I was prescribed Xanax I told my psychologist I didn't want to take it as people can become addicted. So we used it as a temporary solution to my severe anxiety until my new medication took affect. I was prescribed 10 low dose generic pills I could cut in half. Nothing that could make me feel high, just help with my attacks. On my way to work I picked up my RX using the drive through. I provided my ID and paid my fee and went to work. I opened the bottle later to see what the pills looked like (I've had pills so tiny they couldn't split in half so I wanted to make sure they broke evenly and easily) and noticed it looked short. I counted 3 times and sure enough I only had 9 pills. Of course at first I wasn't worried. Each pill cost me less than $0.30, but I began to wonder if maybe one of the employees may have been stealing. Looking back it was silly because it's only 1 low dose pill...but I wanted to be a good person. So I called and reported it. The girl I was connected to was the same to hand me my bag. Nice tattooed girl. She was immediately insulted and argued saying they double count all medications. I said I agree this is weird, it's not hard to count to 10. I just want you guys to be aware there may be a problem. - the phone call went nowhere fast. Thinking she may have been the person stealing I decided to go in the next day. When I walked in the next day I was greeted by a young man. Maybe partially Hispanic. He was super sweet until I brought up why I was there. Immediately all 3 pharmacists looked at me knowing who I was. Apparently my phone call was common knowledge. The older Indian woman immediately walked around the corner and told me there was nothing she could do. I should mention I have bright pink hair and dress in a punk style. This could of course cause some alarm to the pharmacists as they don't know I'm 100% drug free by choice. I decided to re assure them by saying I don't want my pill, I don't want a refund. I just want them to know what happened. The young man proceeded to tell me they take reports like this very seriously and how much of a hassle it would be to report it. He MADE SURE I KNEW I was inconveniencing him. He also made sure I knew I could get one of his "friends" fired if it even looked like they were stealing and I could make them go to jail. Now this all revolves around Xanax. A medication known to aid anxiety. Meaning...I have anxiety. Him getting so defensive and being so rude I then had an anxiety attack right there. But he didn't stop. He kept making me feel like a terrible Person for even walking in. Shaking violently and tears pouring out of my face I had no choice but to walk away. I couldn't even form a sentence. My fiancé helped me outside and we did all we could to soothe the attack. The only one who cared was the young female cashier who sold me my tissues, promising she'd find out what happened and fix it. She was a wonderful person. I haven't returned since. I now use Walgreens which is a ways from my home. I'm still upset from this situation. I can't believe anyone would treat a person like that knowing they have a mental disorder. Please don't use CVS Pharmacy. read more

worst pharmacy ever. they lie to you, deny you prescriptive coverage, make you play wild goose chase with doctors, and give 0 cares about their customers. BUT!!! if you're interested in hearing all the fine print on why they can't help you, this is your shop! they'll explain that until your ears bleed. (too bad they can't hear you talking back...) tip for anyone considering using this pharmacy - if you want help, threaten 3 different people that you will report them to your health provider unless they help you. you will eventually get the manager, who will call you stupid and repeat himself 8 times before he finally gives you what your doctor prescribed. only took me 3 trips to the doctors office, 4 trips to cvs, 5 days and 1 threatening phone call from my health care provider for them to fill a prescription. they lie saying that they haven't received the prescription. it isn't until the health care provider gets on the phone testifying that this was sent 5 days prior until they say "oh, look! here is the fax in the fax machine". 5 days and 4 visits later... they do not train process or procedure here. you ask any different rep the same easy question "can i fill my prescription", and you get a different answer from every one. nobody at this place understands the business. when you start inquiring as to why, they all run away and the manager comes out and scolds you. i came back for a refill on the prescription they finally gave me after all that forementioned effort. i thought 'there is no way i'll have that experience again'. silly me. they gave me the same runaround goose chasing between my doctor and cvs until my prescription finally expired. at that point they say they can't legally help you and turn you away...again empty handed. this store should have their license banned until they finally learn how to communicate with doctors, fill prescriptions, and start treating people as the paying customers with health issues that they are. now that i've posted to yelp, its time to file a complaint again with my health provider (who told me on the phone that one more red flag to this store will lead to an investigation), the AMA, and anyone else my doctor can refer me to. don't trust this store. they already hate you. read more

WORSE CVS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My family recently moved to Round Rock, unfortunately, this is the nearest location. We came in on a Sunday to get our Passport done. The technician took forever, had a hard time getting the printer to work. When she took my daughter's and son's photo, it was very dark. My son was only 4, so the black bar that held down the white screen was showing. I asked her if it was going to be a problem, she said "No". While all this was going on, the cashier "Addisu" could not stay at the register. He was always going to the back for some reason. He mush have A.D.D. or something. All the while, 2 people waited in line too long and walked out because there was no cashier on duty. On passport day after 2 hours of waiting in line at the post office, the lady rejected the passport photos citing it was too dark and the bar behind my son. It must be completely white. We had to go to Walgreens to get it redone. (I had a wonderful experience at Walgreen, will save for a different review.). Anyways, I dont like complaining to store managers, but I swore I would go back to CVS and talk to the manager. A week later, I came in the store. Asked for store manager. A skinny Asian manager named Albert came out (i'm not racist, I am also Asian). Whats up he asks? I showed him 2 photo's. The first one from Walgreen (very professional with the background touched up by Walgreens to be pure white) and the dark one with the bar. First thing that comes out of his mouth was... "that photo did not come from my store." I'm like, WTF????? I was expecting, "I'm sorry to hear about that. Do you have a receipt and do you remember who took your photo so I can train them. Let me get you a refund...", that sort of a thing. Once I pulled out the receipt, he goes.. you know what ever.. I'm going to you a refund. Never once apologized. He asked who, I said all you have to do is look at the receipt. It was the current cashier who happened to be working that night and another girl. Go to your scheduling system, it should not be hard to track down. He took 5 mins to go in the back to get another register ready to do the return. When he came back, I told him "You know what, screw the refund. That was really not the reason why I came in. I wanted to bring this to your attention so you can train your employees so others don't have to wait hours at the post office only to be rejected because CVS is not following government regulations for passport photos." I told him, I got no apology or any sign of effort that you will try to retrain your employees. Just smart ass remarks and denial that you even ever took the photo. I threaten to go to corporate office. He said let me see the receipt so I can see who took the photos. He looked at it and when I tried to get it back, he tried his best not to give it back. The guy is syndicalist. Once he heard I was going to corp office, he tried to keep the receipt. When I left he said "I've been taking passport for 8 years, those photos would have never come from me" - Again, he failed to understand, as manager, you need to train your people.. leadership...hello??? I have NO IDEA why he is taking this as him personally taking the picture. Then he said "Its not my fault you waited in line 2 hours at the post office. Again, he failed to understand, CVS is ACCOUNTABLE for not following government passport regulations that cost its customers time re-waiting in line at the post office because passport photos were REJECTED by the post office and they must leave, get it done again, and come back. This is a poor excuse for a manager in customer service. I am stunned beyond belief. How did this guy become manager in a customer service oriented business???? I am baffled. I love CVS but I can't describe what a disappointment this location was. I visit here on the way home from class at least twice a week but now I won't ever step foot into this CVS ever again..... First time coming here I had to return an item that wasn't what I thought I wanted. The cashier called the manager because he had no idea how to do the return. I thought "oh maybe he's new...it's okay",,,, I left with a good bye. Second time stopping by after class, the same cashier was working,,,,didn't greet me when I came in so then I greeted him. Honestly from the looks of it, he seems to hate his job and pretty much unhappy with life. I was not only friendly but patience,,,,but noooo that didn't help his mood. He took forever to scan my coupons, has very poor manner,,,, instead of handing me my change he just kinda threw them on the counter. At that point I was kinda upset and ready to leave but I had 1 more transaction to do....he then told me "are you almost done? I can't stand here all night to check you out." in my head I'm thinking "what?? isn't it your job status to check out customers???" So then I kinda laughed it off & apologized for taking up his time. He was so dismissive he just threw all of my stuff in one bag and pushed it across the counter. After this incident I decided to maybe come in a little earlier the next time so if I'm lucky I won't get him as a cashier again. But nooooooo, i wasn't that lucky. Again he gave me that attitude like "omg I have actually have to work because she's here" I said hi to him thinking maybe he's having a good day today but NOOOO again. He took forever checking me out and was sighing out loud while doing it... UGH, at this point I was like "IM NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!!!!" if that wasn't enough, he messed up my transaction & tells me that he can't process my CRT because he had already hit TOTAL so theres no way to go back but to cancel the order..... WHAT????? Ive been to other CVS & they did it just fine. So then I canceled my transaction and left. Yesterday I was desperate & came back on the way home. And guess what?!?! He's there again. Just my luck. So I played it off, be nice so I can get positive feedback in return but he was still sluggish and rude. I had bought a weekly deal of collate and didn't get to use my ECB due to his mistake from the previous time i had canceled my transaction when I was there. So now Im not able to use my ECB and I have to call the 800# to ask them to refund it back. Like all of the sudden, its my responsibility to take out my time to fix someone else's mistakes....Just goes to show that I should never showed my face here again. My one complaint is the new store hours for the front end of the store not pharmacy. This CVS store actually closes at 7 pm on a Saturday. When I went tonight the lady was locking the door. I had heard they had cut back on hours but this was ridiculous. You all need to be open until at least 9 pm on Saturday. Lots of other customers in the parking lot, pulled up at the same time as me and we all were shocked to see your store closed this early. You are losing all those customers to other stores near by. Please consider changing your hours. 3 stars but mainly because cutting your store hours. read more

I always go to this cvs because the whole staff knows me. I go in there about 3-4 times a week to coupon. They are so patient and willing to help. I've been to other cvs' and the staff just seems annoyed and unwilling to help! I get so frustrated. I'd rather go to this one and get rain checks if they don't have the products I'm looking for. They do run out of stuff very fast but I just come back when they restock. They are awesome! I can't say the same for the actual pharmacy, I get my prescriptions sent there all the time just because it's convenient but my last experience was HORRIBLE. I called in the prescription because I was being released from the hospital with my newborn so a few hours later I think my prescription must be ready so I get there and the pharmacist tells me that my insurance declined paying for the prescription and I need to call them. So I'm wondering why he never bothered to call me and tell me that. Anyway I call and get it all sorted out and come back and he says it will be about 15 min. I wait and go back. He still hasn't heard from my insurance so I have to wait 15 more min. At this point I'm so frustrated and my husband goes and tells him we have called the insurance twice and they have confirmed coverage so what is the hold up and he says ok let me call. He calls and everything is clear about 2 hours later. Great waste of time! read more

I've been a CVS pharmacy customer for many years now, often changing pharmacies during my many moves in Austin. Now that I am living in Round Rock, this CVS Pharmacy has become my all time favorite. The pharmacist (Chris) is a great Pharmacist. He has been incredibly helpful during my recent move and really goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. Went in to pick up a prescription and ended up doing a bit of shopping for consumables, where during checkout the clerk (I wish I had her name) made a comment that was borderline extortion simply because I asked if they had a courtesy CVS card so I could get the sale prices. A few days later, we noticed that one of the products we purchased was expired and it was an $8 item. Being consumables, we generally don't save receipts but figured it wouldn't be a problem to go back and get store credit. Man, was I wrong. The first thing this old cashier (the extorter) did was scan it with what she felt was her light saber and immediately called her teenage manager to observe the results from the pulled up UPC. My two kids, my wife, and I then waited for 30 minutes while the manager was on the computer in her back room "looking for the digital receipt". While doing so, the clerk reassured us that there is NOTHING in the store that is even 6 months from expiration. We then proceeded to the very same product and noticed that all of them on the shelf were expired. After 20 minutes, we asked the clerk what was taking so long and she replied that there is a discrepancy with their supply numbers for that product and that the manager was checking the surveillance footage!!!!! She didn't come out and accuse us of shoplifting so I kind of bit my tongue. The manger then arrived with the remainder of the expired items she had pulled off the shelf and informed me that she could only issue store credit. DUH!!! It was apparent through our stay there that the clerk liked to instigate and provoke altercations. In a nutshell, if you purchase milk or bread from here, SAVE THE RECEIPT.
