A visit to this branch has convinced me never to patronize any CVS for the foreseeable future. I should have read the previous reviews and used the time wasted - due to the incompetency and rudeness of a floor employee, Nisar, an older, heavyset man, and a manager, a young, short man who said his name was Yasir (please forgive any possible errors in my spelling) - to just go out of my way to another drug store! Prior reviews have mentioned unacceptable conduct including a manager arguing with employees and using foul language in front of customers, not to mention many instances of indifferent, discourteous, and even hostile treatment of customers. My experience fit that pattern, At approximately 8:45am today, Wednesday, November 4, 2015, I approached the front registers with two small items to pay and get on my way to the office. Nisar was in the general area of the registers but did not acknowledge me in any way, so I tried the self-checkout, which, like prior reviews mentioned, interpreted almost every action as an error and after two instances of the self-checkout machine freezing and claiming "assistance is on the way" (which it wasn't), I actually had to approach Nisar and ask him if I could just pay at a regular register because the self-checkout was unnecessarily problematic and time consuming. He simply didn't respond to my question and, appearing displeased that I had approached him, just fiddled with the self-check out, which continued to experience errors and ultimately wouldn't accept any form of payment. Only after the manager on duty, Yasir, happened by during my subsequent protests that this was an unnecessary waste of time and I would appreciate an actual response to my requests to just check out at the cash register, did Nisar relent and walk over to one of the cash registers. I explained to Yasir that it was unacceptable that the other employee, Nisar, inexplicably ignored my repeated requests to pay at the cash register and wasted my and his time so unnecessarily. Yasir could only muster an answer befitting a defensive child, "well, I wasn't here for that, so I don't know." I asked him if he cared what customers thought and what if some of us would simply stop shopping at CVS altogether due to such conduct, and he gave one curt "I apologize for the inconvenience" and "have a nice day" and walked away. Nisar then chimed in, "it was no big deal." I presume CVS doesn't bother with online reviews and such, so I will be researching how to submit a complaint and urge them to invest a few dollars in employee training programs. I have a feeling a lack of training and resources accounts for at least some of the consistently bad conduct of store employees. read more

I have one prescription through CVS because, quite frankly, that's all I can handle. I got an automated call on a Sunday morning reminding me to renew my prescription. The following Friday, a person called my home and spoke to my husband who told her I would call when I was ready for a refill. Several hours later, she called again and this time I answered and told her to go ahead and refill it. She asked if I was going to come in that evening to pick it up and I said No. So then she asked me if I would come in Saturday to pick it up and again I said No. I told her I would pick it up on Monday. I went in Monday and waited in line only to be told that they were out of that medicine and would have to order it. They told me it would be in on Tuesday. So I went back on Tuesday and stood in line again only to be told they had it but couldn't give it to me because their computers were down! What???? Went back today, Thursday, and was finally able to get it. Honestly, dealing with CVS is just a pain in the butt. If they didn't offer the bulk discount, there is no way I would go there but my insurance company only does this discount through CVS so it's either deal with it or pay 3X as much. I am an avid user of CVS, but this location is by far the worst location I have been to so far. The staff is rude and not helpful, the lines are ridiculously long and extremely slow moving. The efficiency of this staff is below par compared to other locations. It has been this way for years now, and I am surprised they haven't changed their game plan. Step it up guys! read more

i normally wouldn't review large chain stores, but i really had to in this instance. this place is sooo terrible. so FUCKING TERRIBLE and im talking about the pharmacy. i had my prescription transferred to this location, and they have been horrible in refilling it. i came in three-four times before it even got filled.. isn't it their job to call the doctor and ask about refills? its taking them 4 FREAKEN DAYS to get that shit done. called on friday, and they told me to come back on monday to pick it up. came in on monday morning, and they said to come later in the evening. but guess what, its still not ready?!?! WTF. my prescription isn't life threatening, but it's pretty effing important to get that shit on time. SUCH A JOKE. they are so nonchalant about it too.. so if you are a patient with important drugs, i would in no way trust them. and their customer service is really really bad. i'd give them zero stars if i could! read more

We were staying down by the ocean, and I realized I left some necessities at home that I desperately needed. I was skeptical of walking up to this location because of the reviews I had read, but we were pleasantly surprised! Staff was super helpful and courteous, even joking with us and inquiring where we are from since in our area there is no charge for bags as there is in California. The pharmacy is about the worst I've ever experienced. I won't even waste time explaining all the things they do wrong. But just know if you choose to use this pharmacy, expect your prescription to never be prepared, forget about the automatic refill system, keep a copy of your prescription & bring it with you every time you come in - because they will lose it every time. Keep track of your last refill because they will not tell you, and be prepared to make any calls to your Dr. on your own, because no one at the pharmacy counter knows what they're talking about. Lastly, no matter how clear it is that they've f-ed up, they will never admit to being wrong, so don't waste your energy trying to explain it to them. read more

If I could not give any stars I would. This was THE worst customer service experience I ever had. NO one was in a hurry to help me. I finally went to the self service check out and that didn't work- no assistance came and I went back in line to a rude older Indian man who barely spoke and them pointed at the bag when I asked him to put my items I just bought. $50 purchase and felt so disrespected. read more

i never write bad reviews unless I feel necessary. this place has the most unenthusiastic employees. not to mention I can never find help when I need it. CVS must be cursed because whenever I am ready to check out, the line is longer than the one at the welfare office. not that I would know, just saying. this place needs to be gutted and remodeled starting with everyone who works there. read more

This place never disappoints to disappoint. I showed up with pneumonia and no voice. Denise at the pharmacy wouldn't even look at me to bother to give me a pen and read what I had to say. She instead assumed from her peripheral vision and put her words into my mouth. Meanwhile, I was asking for a pen and paper. When I found one myself and wrote her a note, she looked at it, no apologies, no word. People like this should not be working in a department that is supposed to help patients. I had to come back. They couldn't figure out how to process the inhaler request, which I needed badly due to shortness of breath from my pneumonia. They charged me full price. No explanation. So I asked why didn't you use the paper from my dr? They said it didn't work. I said- that's why you sent me home at a first place so that you could figure it out... So she's like what do you want me to do?? Then she said she'd call the insurance. She takes time and serves other people. Just cause I don't show like I'm dying while most people w pneumonia would and I'm blonde doesn't meant one should depriorotize for the third time. I asked for a store Mgr. Cashier register guy says ok I'll call him but takes 4 people to pay first. Ignores me because I can't talk. So I wave in front of him to look at me and ask for the Mgr again. I broke into tears cause at that point I couldn't breath much. Mgr Henry shows up and says I can't hear you after I told him I had no voice. Then he says ok I'll talk to the pharmacy. A random lady asks him a question and he starts assisting her while I told him I couldn't breathe and wasn't feeling well. He never made it over to the pharmacy and totally ignored me. I keep giving all CVS pharmacies that I try the benefit of the doubt, and I'm not sure why I'm still trying. I've struggled with CVS pharmacies all over California but after just moving back to LA, and transferring prescriptions to this one, I have to say I'm just appalled by the indifference shown by employees. One of my medicines that's extremely important, that I've been taking for years fully covered by insurance, requires me to take it twice a day. Most people only take it once a day, but my situation is more severe than most, so I take it twice. I've never had a problem getting it covered. I went to pick it up at this pharmacy, and they informed me that I was getting a month supply of the drug, which would be 60 pills. Now, two weeks later, I've run out, and called the pharmacy today to say they made a mistake and only gave me 30 pills and need to fill the other 30 today because I'm out. They said, "sorry, your insurance company won't cover the medicine twice a day anymore, only once a day." So I asked how much it would cost to pay out of pocket for the remaining thirty, and they told me it would cost over $200. It's not their fault that my insurance decided to change its mind on what it would cover without giving me any notification whatsoever, but what IS their fault is that they handed me a bottle and told me it was a month supply and the outside of the bottle said twice a day, and failed to mention that the bottle only contained half the amount they said it did. If they had just told me then that the insurance was only covering two weeks worth, I would have had time to call the insurance and get them to cover it before running out. Now I'm out, and will have to be in pain for days before the insurance company will fix it, since as most of us probably know insurance companies are painfully slow and bureaucratic and are not focused on the health of their customers at all. And when I told the lady on the phone that perhaps they ought to have mentioned the switch last time I came in, she acted like that was out of the realm of their responsibility, and that I should have read the "fine print" (fine print? On what forms? I was given no paperwork, and the only fine print I saw was on the bottle of the drug, where it clearly said 60 pills, not 30). All in all, the one thing I can say all CVS's I've dealt with have in common is that the employees DGAF about helping customers that might actually have serious, deadly medical conditions. NOT a good pharmacy to choose if you have many expensive medications that you can't afford to miss. read more

My hand was a little forced on going back here because for one of my medications I could get it for $10 here or $60 at the local pharmacy. The pharmacy staff seems to have turned over and I haven't had any problems so far with the new staff. read more

I'm sorry but I work in the area during the week and live 2 hours away. When I come in for a prescription on my lunch hour and they call and tell me it's ready, then I expect it to be ready. I come in and the lines are so long that this cuts into my lunch hour and I am not a happy customer anymore. As nice as they all are the waits are just too long. Sorry. read more

Wow! This store has the worst customer service EVER!!! (not at all an exaggeration) For the store itself to only be rated at 2 stars... should already tell you everything you need to know! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!! I went in to make a purchase of personal hygiene items... (a total bill of $24.60) and a cookie. The receipt is time stamped at 9:57. I then left the store and opened the packaged cookie in the parking lot (not 10 steps from the front door of the store. Unfortunately... this cookie was not the one that I wanted... (though I took it from the box that was to contain the one I did want.) It's CVS... so I thought, "No problem... I'll just go back and exchange it." My phone said that the time was 9:59... but the doors were already closed?!? I went through the normal (understandable) rhetoric about the store being closed... but then that's when it got ugly! All I wanted to do was to return/exchange the item that I received from the wrongly marked box... with the actual item that I did want! Seems reasonable enough. APPARENTLY NOT!!! Though I'm still holding the bag with the purchases I just made not 3 minutes ago... I am told that I can't be let in the store... nor will they allow me to slide the cookie through the door and take back the cookie to exchange for the one that I thought I had paid for. They (the apparent manager... not the 4 other employees standing around) stated that I needed to come back tomorrow??? WT??? I'm here right now... I just walked out of the store 3 minutes ago!!! Are you freaking kidding me??? Then she makes the idiotic and inconvenient suggestion that I take it to another store that's still open... but 20+ blocks away!!! You think that somehow inconveniencing a customer...... is going to miraculously keep them as a customer??? Sure... I'll be coming back tomorrow... I'll be coming back in fact to return all of the items that I purchased... and to take my money elsewhere!!! I've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years. I've been shopping at this CVS (and CVS's everywhere) for as long as I can remember. That stops today. All this over a $2.00 cookie. read more
