Let me start off by saying the customer service in the pharmacy department is very nice everybody is very polite and very helpful, but my problem is several times that I go to pick up prescriptions there's always a very very long line, I went today to get a prescription I was a seventh person in line this happens all the time and I mean all the time people have things to do not to stand in long long lines is it that hard to get more people in there during customers up no I don't think so this will be the same reason why I will leave this pharmacy because of the long long long lines read more

I heard some unfortunate news today. About 40mins ago My mother was shopping at your pharmacy , and she told me your cashier employees were very rude to her (including the manager) they showed her poor customer service . They followed her around the store . They began to be muggy and snobby when she refused to pay using their self computer checkout. How is it possible that you do as much revenue as you do and never have enough staffing??? You own a huge chunk of the retail pharmacy business, your prices are higher than anyone else, your buying power is enormous--all of that means that your margins HAVE to be high. Use some of that cash to staff your pharmacies. It is ridiculous to wait 4 hours for a prescription to be filled then wait another half hour in line to pick it up. read more

I use both this CVS and the one on 26th & Santa Monica. The one on 26th is much better (both bigger and open 24 hours, and easier to get in and out of). This store is cramped and always has homeless people camped outside which is very sad. I once saw some guy getting arrested in the parking lot. Don't get your prescriptions filled here because it seems to take FOREVER and the pharmacy workers are very harried and busy, they barely have time to acknowledge you or answer your questions. I've had good experiences getting filled at Rite Aid on 14th & Wilshire. Much less busy and the pharmacist takes time to answer your questions, and you can usually do some grocery shopping at Vons while you wait. As far as the check out staff, I've experience the good and the bad. The managers seem very nice and I've had two help me on separate occassions. They are knowledgable and help resolve issues quickly. I prefer using the self checkout because it's just easier. the times when I've needed help with the checkout line, I've gotten fast and courteous service. However, recently I had a run-in with a very rude, older lady cashier. I did have to redo a transaction which I apologized for, but she continued to be nasty to me. I apologized about the complex transaction but asked her to please not take it out on me, but she continued to do so. Even though I didn't complain about how slow she was, or how obviously she didn't understand coupons so she had to read each one instead of just scanning them. She also asked me several times whether I needed a bag even though each time I told her i had my own and pointed to it sitting on the counter. I think this CVS does strive to have good customer service, but they obviously have some holes. If you need to go to CVS head over to 26th & Santa Monica for a much better experience. read more

Horrible service. The tech at the pharmacy counter is rude and shouts across the counter so everyone waiting can hear. They usually have to order my medication and usually can't tell when they will get more. I have been here three times now, each time worse than the last. read more

This CVS is always swarmed with bums and I started to feel unsafe. Their pharmacy department takes forever and they never follow up on prescriptions. They messed up on my insurance and it was the biggest ordeal. I highly recommend not going to this location. read more

Unbelievable. Usually I have no problem getting perscriptions filled. One day there was a new lady behind the calendar. Stacey Stepniak. She refused to fill it because she said she couldn't read the hand writing. Well that's odd, cause it's been the same handwriting for months and no one else minded. You also see the history of my perscriptions. So I asked her what can't you read about it. She doesn't answer me and just calls security. UNREAL. I don't plan on patronizing another CVS. The pharmacist and pharmacy techs are absolutely rude and do not provide good customer service at this branch. I transferred two prescriptions from UCLA to CVS because it's three blocks from my apt. Both prescriptions are anti-Seizure meds. One was transferred and filled. I got the runaround for other prescription - 1st I was told it wasn't transferred and then I was told it can't be filled. I was also told repeatedly that the prescription was filled the 23rd which was true except my dose was increased and I was given another prescription on the 25th. I left without one med and with a promise that the pharmacist would sort this out with UCLA pharmacy. I had requested the transfer at 1pm on the 25th. I was at the CVS at 6:30. At no time between 1 and 6 was I contacted about one prescription not transferring. I was also told during the hour I was talking to the pharm tech and pharmacist and they called my insurance that my partner waiting in the car for me would have to wait longer. I made a point to give the pharmacy enough time to complete the transfer and fill the prescription. I can't drive - because of the new onset seizures and the pharmacy is not the least bit concerned about not being able to fill the prescription that I need. During this time as well I'm being told that they didn't have my information to get in touch with me about the prescription that wouldn't transfer. This can't be true since they would have needed my name and phone number to transfer the medication and I have filled a number of prescriptions at this location. It's now two days later and I believe after I left on Tuesday evening that no one was tracking the status of my prescription. When I called to check on the 28th I was told the prescription can't be filled because the prescription was filled on the 23rd which I explained again that my dose was increased on the 25th and new prescription written. Then I was told it was my responsibility to call my insurance to get an override. Since I wasn't getting anywhere with any of the staff I called my insurance. Funny thing, completely unprompted by me, my insurance contact stated that the pharmacist could have the called and requested the override. The insurance contact stated that pharmacists don't like to do this and instead push it back on the customer. This is exactly what I thought was going to happen and now I'm in the middle. My insurance contact overrides the hold on the medication and confirms it has been released. I hang up and call CVS. I speak with Mercedes and she looks in the system and tells me there is no override and she can't process the prescription. I ask if she will look tomorrow and fill the prescription and she tells me that there is no use in looking tomorrow because the insurance never completed the override (despite the customer service contact telling me the opposite) Mercedes tells me I have to call my insurance company and request an override. Do not deal with the following people - Deannie, Denisse, Jasmine and Mercedes. I'm going to transfer my prescription - It can't be anymore painful than continuing to work with the staff at this store. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This review is specifically for the front staff who work at the pharmacy. I didn't get her name, but she is terrible. I've only gone there twice. First time, for my prescription for a pregnancy anti-nausea medication. The woman working there has a rude tone on phone, and is even worse in person. Two months later I call to refill my prescription. They had to contact my doctor because I was out of refills. I got the same unpleasant woman on the phone. Made getting my medication filled sound like she had to do so much extra work, when I asked if she could once again send a request to my OB. Such a horrible experience and so unhelpful. People like her should not be in "customer service" especially at a pharmacy where most people go to get medication to help them feel better. Luckily, my prescription was transferred to a CVS in Culver City, near where I work. The difference in customer service there is unbelievable. So much better. Really the bottom of the barrel. Went there to get support medication for prostate for my dad. They recommended subramil (phonetic) but didn't have any, but told me to come back today (the next day). They didn't have it today either. Trying to get help to see if they had it: pharmacy staff refused to help and sent me to the front of store personnel. The redheaded woman refused to come out from behind the counter to help, saying they only had what was on the shelves. I asked a clerk who was stocking shelves, she wouldn't help at all. Finally, I found something else searching on my own. My father bought some shaving blades, but they weren't the ones he selected, they did a "bait and switch". Then he wanted a candy bar because they were on sale for 99 cents, but on the receipt showed up as $2.35. There photo department has to be the absolute worst. Recently they had a security breach and the online site was down for at least six months. When things were back I figured I would give them another try because it is right by my job but it's just more of the same old horrible service. No one there knows anything about the photo department, I order pictures and go to pick them up and they tell me I never placed a order, and I go back to pick up another order and they try to give me the order that they claim I never placed. read more

This place is the worse cvs store I was buying toothbrush and toothpaste cause I need it and at the same time I needed change of quarters and stupid workers specially managers would not give me change i mean wtf I'm buying something and something I need too. It's not like their losing money all i wanted was to buy my toothbrush and toothpaste and have quarters of change. Damn Indian manager told me to go to the bank if the bank give quarters then I wouldn't have to go here would i? Just terrible and mean. When I entered the store, I was greeted by a strange man who said, "What do you want?" I proceeded to tell him that I was returning some items, which then prompted him to look through my bag, which he did without asking, and then take my receipt. He then said to me, "What is this crap?" I was taken aback by the comment and asked him if he was even an employee, to which he replied, "I'm the manager." Since there was no one else in the store at the time, I decided to just leave it at that. However, he kept going through my bag of items, and making comments like, "This is crap." I read the reviews and thought to myself could this place really be this terrible?? Well I tried them anyway and boy were the bad reviews correct! So I drop off my prescription at around 9 am and tell the ladty that I want to pick up my prescription around lunch and asked her if she could call me when it was ready. Well 3 o'clock rolls around an NO phone call, so I call to check on progress. Well after being on hold for about 20 miutes a lady finally picks up and askS me my name and birth date and I am promptly put back on hold for another 10 minutes until the pharmacist Dr. Shah gets on the phone and asks me my name and birth date yet again. Well after he spends what seems like an eternity at this point, looking for my prescriptiion and tells me there is no record?? WTF!?!?!?! So I get in may car and drive over there, where I am again given the run around. The lady I droppped off the prescription with asked for my ID and phone# which I gave her. when she input my name and birth date she input the year incorrectly. These people could not put 2 + 2 together and figure out I was the same guy, same name, same phone #, same address, etc.... Well after 20 minutes I finally got my prescription filled to find out they wanted $80.00 for a generic antibiotic that I could have got at WalMart for $5. Been to this location numerous of times and its been at decent. Decent selection of different items. Small isles make it hard to pass. Often there's a homeless person or 2 there asking for money. Lines can get pretty long and cause people to get upset and sometimes only 1 employee is ringing up people. read more

The pharmacy staff could be a little more pleasant. They all look like uninterested to help you. The store itself is clean and organized.

I don't understand why this CVS gets such a bad rap. The organization I work with holds a free clinic on Olympic, and in the midst of a temporary pharmacy crisis, we have to go to chain pharmacies like CVS to fill prescriptions for our patients. There is quite a bit of parking on the side (there is an additional lot behind the one directly to the right of the pharmacy). Inside is clean and well-organized, with the pharmacy in the back. The pharmacists there weren't extraordinary, but they were patient in working with me to find the least expensive version of a particular antibiotic. This pharmacy was the closest to our clinic, and it definitely got the job done. No complaints! read more

Take my advice: drive the extra mile to the one on 26th & Santa Monica. This one (Lincoln Blvd.) seems to be staffed by rude idiots. Three times I've tried this store because it was on the way, and three times I've been totally inconvenienced. They bully you to use the self-serve cashier even when you tell them that the machines can't scan your CVS card from the CardStar app; they give you directions to the restrooms but not the code to open the door; they don't apply discounts from your CVS card unless you specifically ask them to. The 26th St. store is larger, cleaner, has a wider selection, and is staffed by much nicer people. I will never step foot in there again. read more

EDIT/UPDATE: I've since been going a lot. This is still one of the smaller CVS's, so it doesn't offer the selection that is available in other CVS's, and I find that they will often run out of things, but overall, the quality of service is better. I have not seen the rude cashier in a while, and they have also installed self-checkout and for the most part, one is not required to deal with their employees unless one wants to. There is a very nice gentleman I often see working here, though. I am not sure if he is a manager or not. As far as the pharmacy is concerned, they are average. Once, they had a delay in my refills because they were out of my medication, but that was my only issue. _____________________________________________________________ As far as selection goes, this is one of the smaller CVS's around, as well as pharmacies in the general Santa Monica / Venice / Marina Del Ray / Brentwood area. It definitely covers the basics, but don't expect the wide selection or extras that occur in some of the other stores. I am inspired to comment because I just walked out about 10 minutes ago from receiving the WORST customer service ever. I have been to this location mostly on weeknights, after works, and the three gentlemen and one lady on the evening shift are anywhere from polite and efficient to great. This morning (Sunday), a different man was working as cashier. He was incredibly rude. As a quick FYI: CVS has a program called "Extra Bucks" which are basically CVS dollars, which they accept as cash. I had $6 extra bucks, a $4 off $20 coupon, and another $1off coupon they issued me on my last visit for a product I normally use. These coupons were all set to expire in two days, so I figured would spend a bit over $20 on essentials. I went around the store picking up "on sale" toilet paper, garbage bags, etc... things I certainly do not need at this time, but as I need nothing and have $11 in coupons towards. I tallied my total in my head, and figured it was about $24-25 plus tax. When it was rung up, it said $37. I was asking and the man goes "Well, I haven't done your coupons". Ok, but are these items on sale? "I have to do your coupons". I said I thought it was going to be about $25, and he goes "It will be after your coupons". I said BEFORE the coupons. He loudly announces to the people behind me in line: "WHAT? You have no money? You came in here with no money and just want to use coupons?" OK, that was the first rule of terrible customer service. I said "No, but I only meant to spend $20"... "Why, no money?"... NO BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MY COUPONS WERE FOR. Then, he announces to the people behind me, "Sorry, but this lady is taking forever". The customer behind me actually said she understood my side about double-checking prices. I took my items to another cashier who scanned and double checked that all my items were price as marked, and my total with tax was $26. CVS, please fire that cashier or take him off the register until he learns that attempting to humiliate customers is not ok. read more

This CVS has the worst costumer service!!!! I waited about 15 minutes to get my photos from the one hour photo. I asked 2 of the employees to help me. The Hispanic guy responded by saying "there's no one that can help you". Are you serious! He was standing by the self check-in doing nothing! All he had to do was walk behind the counter and get the photos! So, next I asked the heavy set black guy to help me, he has the nastiest attitude. He act like he was to good to get the photos from behind the counter. So after waiting about 15 minutes, he finally goes to get my photos and he decides to look through my pics as if he knew me, WTF!! Never again will I subject myself to this horrible place. Selection is lacking in most areas which is understandable considering it's a rather small location by modern day drug store/pharmacy standards. Having said that, the selection is good enough for daily necessities. The main and relatively new problem is the self serve automated check out system and unavailable, kinda rude, staff. Only having 4 auto check out's without a single cashier on duty is borderline criminal. The machine's they use aren't the best at scanning and with no help around for anything, you just have to stand there and endlessly swipe you product with the hopes that you'll get the beep of product acceptance sooner than never. I gave up one one item yesterday. The one staff member that was loitering in the area discussing the Lakers with a friend didn't help me out with the unscannable item, but did take the time to run over and check that I had in fact paid for all 3 of my items. Nothing quite like having to ditch an item because I was unable to scan it then have to step back as Laker Fan #1 makes a spectacle of checking that my M&M's, Charleston Chew and Emergen-C were paid up. I had been going here since they opened simply because it's on my home in the evening. I grew up going to Rite Aid on either 14th and Wilshire or 18th and Wilshire and regret straying. What the heck, man. Why all the negative reviews? I have been going here for almost three years, and the pharmacy staff is terrific! I can't believe all the crap they have to deal with in this particular location. There's always some rude, unsanitary, creepy or otherwise off-putting person in line in front of me, and the pharmacists deal with them with patience, kindness and grace. I consider myself a very caring, compassionate person, but I think I'd totally LOSE IT if I had to work at this CVS. I have also seen the cashiers up front go to great lengths to help some pretty difficult customers. I can't give the place 5 stars, because I hate having to walk through the gauntlet of beggars in the parking lot and by the front door. I don't come here at night, by the way. The parking spaces are narrow, so I usually park in the back section near the dumpster. No way am I walking that parking lot by myself in the dark! read more

I have had to come here a couple of times to get a prescription filled. When I got there, I had to wait a minute until someone acknowledged that I was standing there to drop off my prescription. Finally, someone came and took my prescription. I asked when my prescription would be done and the lady said 45 mins. I asked if they could call and they said they could text me when the prescription would be done. They texted at around 30 mins. When I got there, there was a slight wait. Typically haven to wait 10 mins. In line. Other than that, the reason why this isn't higher is because the customer service. They don't seem to be very organized. When looking for your meds they have 5 bins to look in. They also don't seem very happy to be there. read more

The staff at this pharmacy, or at least those who answer the phones, are incredibly rude. They do not treat patients/customers with respect. They need to understand that people are calling with medical prescriptions to be filled and will most likely have a valid need for said prescription. Instead they act like they work for Verizon or time warner. Simply appalling! read more
