Milo Breakfast and Clover Farms Yogurt Housemade Seeded Granola
Maddie M.

The Milo Breakfast sub avocado for bacon is so good! So is the vanilla latte. Love the space, too.

Amazing pizzas. It makes sense why this place exists. It's there to fulfill your pizza desires. Don't worry, you'll get some veggies, too. The salads are killer. Loved the chunks of pepperoni in the salad because why not? Espresso martini hit the spot. Gave me a boost and a feel good vibe. Just what I needed. Service will be top notch. Not sure on which pizzas just ask. That's what we did.

Three Cheese Omelette, Iced Latte
Winn H.

Milo and Olive is a lovely brunch spot with ample street parking (pay by the hour). They have off-menu items at times, and during brekafast, the three-cheese omelette was it for the day. I enjoyed that with an iced latte, and it was simply delicious. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, though it did take the staff a bit to welcome me in. I ended up waiting out at the front; perhaps they thought I was planning to order coffee. The three-cheese omelette was a light meal. Imagine three cheeses and scrambled eggs, except make it milky, fluffy, and light. That's exactly what it was, a light meal paired with fresh greens. The iced lattes here are great, too. It was neither too dark nor too light, and the creaminess was good, too. It does get a water if you like to take your time, but it was otherwise a very enjoyable drink. So much so that I had to return for seconds an hour later!

Intimate dining in Brentwood. The food is very overpriced with limited options. I was craving pizza, but unfortunately when I went, there weren't many options that had a lot of meat. The pasta I ordered was very delicious and small. This place does seem quite popular with folks as it's a nice dress-up dinner place. Service of the place was great. I have no complaints there. There is plenty of street parking available. Overall, this place would be good for the ambience and pictures.

Absolutely amazing! I always drove past this restaurant peaking in every time, I'm so happy I finally made it inside! I cannot express how incredibly delicious, fresh, and beautiful this restaurant is!! The food am amazing, the pastry to die for I'm usually not a sweets person, but my friend & I shared a small dessert & I found myself wanting to order another one. The pastry was light, fluffy, not too sweet, tasted home made in my grandmas kitchen I cannot wait to come again and try something different. The service was attentive & we were sat at the bar next to where we can watch our food being made.

Cacio e pepe - sadly no longer on the menu

Milo + Olive is one of those places that completely surprises you. From the outside, it's very unsuspecting but once you step in, it's quaint, cozy, and always buzzing in the best way. The menu is consistently great across the board. The pizzas and pastas never miss, the desserts are genuinely yummy, and the cocktails are finely crafted and well balanced. Honestly, I can't think of a single bad meal or item I've had here. Service is always friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Definitely plan ahead and make a reservation because it gets busy for good reason. Street parking only, but it's worth the extra effort. This is one of those reliable go-to spots that delivers every single time.

The Garlic knot - epic
Mallory C.

A go-to brunch spot when I want to splurge! The pizzas are incredible here and so are some of the other brunch dishes. I've gotten the Breakfast pizza, the garlic knot (amazing!), the chopped salad and a breakfast polenta. Everything is always top-notch -- including the coffee. The patio is also wonderful if the inside is full or gets too loud. A must-visit in Santa Monica! Just a heads up that parking can be challenging during certain times of the day.

Gluten Gluten-Free Veggie Deluxe Pizza without cheese
Erin H.

Pros: super cute ambiance outside with the patio and twinkle lights, the inside looked very moody/romantic; server was super nice; food came out quickly; the GF veggie pizza without cheese (to make vegan) was really tasty Cons: the $21 peach-tomato salad literally had one tomato (or less) and one peach's worth of fruit. It was so tiny. Great flavors but ouch on price. Similarly, my partner accidentally ordered a $10 bottle of sparkling water while I was in the bathroom (so be specific about wanting normal water if you don't want to pay!), pizza was pricey and again pretty small. The menu is well-labeled for gluten free and vegan options but I honestly felt like there weren't actually that many of either option. TLDR: if you don't care about money or specific food allergies/preferences, then by all means, come here because it's very cute and decent food. If you want vegan protein options and/or higher value food (ie more reasonably priced), I'd skip.

We went to Milo and olive for brunch. We found street parking. The location is right across the street from Erewon in Santa Monica. The place is decent for brunch. The service was fast and efficient. It has an easy going vibe inside. We got the following items and they were all ok. Nothing really stood out. Good but not great: Breakfast Pizza Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe You can skip: Rosemary potatoes AGCT Pizza Cinnamon Roll Not sure we would be back but I am glad we tried it.

Milo & Olive serves one of the best mushroom pizzas in Los Angeles. The mushroom pie is outstanding and easily the star of the menu. The flavors are rich, balanced, and the crust is done beautifully. It is one of those pizzas that keeps you coming back for another slice. Pair it with a giant garlic knot and a salad and you have the perfect meal. This place feels a bit underrated in the LA pizza conversation, but it absolutely belongs in the top tier.

French Omelette
Katie K.

I admit, I've avoided this spot because it felt overly hyped. However, I've now repented of my ways. It was great. I get what people are talking about. 1- I didn't realize they had a counter/bar height seating. I love this. 2- The execution of the food is impeccable. It's so hard to find a good omelette that's cooked perfectly, isn't burned, isn't too thick... they do this French omelette right. The service was great. The staff is friendly. The ambience is really nice. Gentle and light and lovely. Oh yeah- The bread is like stupid good.

Delicious cuisine. Fantastic fresh ingredients. The veggie deluxe was incredible. I've also been for the breakfast pastries and they were yummy too. Cute ambiance. Great music. Good vibes. Not a very diverse customer base or staff, but cute spot.

Garlic Knot
Ada L.

This place has been on my list for years and I finally got to try it out this week! My husband and I walked in without reservations, but the hostess found a table for us to sit at without a wait. We tried the Garlic Knot, Crispy Chicken Milanese, Pappardelle Bolognese, and Pepperoni + Mushrooms pizza. The garlic knot was nicely baked--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would've preferred for the garlic to be softer and almost spreadable, but I like how unique the dish is. The chicken had a crispy breading, but simply tasted salty. Overall, every dish seemed to be made well in terms of texture, but for some reason they all lacked a good balance of flavors. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The food came out with the proper timing. The area was pretty busy on a Friday night and all the metered spots were taken, but parking was fairly easy with free 2-hour street parking on the side streets.

I can see why he loves it -- the egg tarts are very custardy and rich, with a lightly eggy flavor but the sweetness from heavy cream in each bite contrasting to the flaky crust. We also got the red velvet cheesecake, which was pretty standard. The strawberry and cream cookie was massive and I loved the strawberry flavor! It was a little too sweet for me but for the average American palette is probably perfect. We were delighted with the box of cookies and tarts that they brought from Paderia in Santa Monica. The chocolate chip walnut cookies were fat and soft with a slightly crisp exterior. The thickness of them allowed a plethora of rich chips to reside inside. I'm not a fan of chunks of nuts in cookies but these were chopped in tiny pieces, so did not take away from the overall soft texture. The soft peanut butter chocolate cookie was also a huge fattie with peanut butter chips within the chocolate cookie. Both were enhanced with a quick warm-up. I loved both of these cookies and think the chocolate chip is the very best you'll ever find. We also had Portuguese egg tarts. The pastel de nata (if I recall, this is what they are called) I ate was small but good, but I have had others that were more to my liking, with a sweeter custard and a more caramelized top, which I guess is a personal preference. Not to say it wasn't delicious - it was! I love the cookies so much I'll be checking out their Irvine location soon, which is much closer to me.

Sinners & Saints Desserts offers a splurge for a luscious dessert, yet scrumptious for those that need gluten-free treats. Be mindful that their kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free one, but precautions are taken to minimize cross contamination. I used to work in the area & came across this bakery, but never got around to trying them out. Since my daughter's birthday was coming up, I thought about trying them out since their desserts were beautifully displayed... they should taste good, right? I ordered the current favorite flavor: red velvet, & asked if they could decorate it with pink flowers & birthday message in red. The cake looks plain with just 3 pink roses, but the birthday cursive was pretty good; however, for the price, it wasn't worth eating a super dry cake. Our family of 4 barely ate 1/3, & tried giving it away to our neighbors, who were also unimpressed. The Smack Pie was supposedly a decadent chocolate lover's sinful treat. It was meh... the ganache wasn't silky-smooth but did taste fudgy, the caramel was hard, & the peanuts were stale. We did enjoy the Banana Cream & Lemon Blueberry Tarts to offset the very dry birthday cake. Luckily, I bought these to compensate for the cake so the birthday girl was happy in the end. Sinners & Saints Desserts sounds like a deliciously tempting bakery but some of their goods miss the mark. I don't think I'll be purposely sinning here much. Recommended: Lemon Blueberry & Banana Cream Tarts.

My first time- with the high, beam-exposed ceiling and layout, has Joan's on Third vibes. No seating inside but plenty outdoors, although the closer to the entrance, you need to talk loudly above the music. I went late (to meet a friend) at 1pm. Few choices in the pastry section though it looked like they would replenish, which they barely did an hour later. Here's what I got: FRENCH SILK PIE - OMG, the chocolate mousse like filling was butter. Thick but light. The crust was dry and too thick but I could smother myself with the filling. PEANUT BUTTER HONEY RICE KRISPY - Very large, cereal was too compressed and dense. The pb flavor was fresh and natural but I did not taste honey. The marshmallow fluff on top was unnecessary but the few blobs inside the krispy was a nice textural difference. Both were $6 each. I can see why they can't sustain their business. Maybe because they're closing the bakery, they didn't want to bake excessively. But the middle tables have cute but overpriced novelties. There was a big table of just old fashioned Helms truck tins, filled with cookies for a mere $50. The prepackaged food might be good but was expensive. $12 for a small egg salad sandwich. The cured ham sandwich I noticed had deli meat ham. It's also inconvenient to wait in a separate line for coffee. That's where you can get soft serve btw. Sad to see Helms Bakery close. The parking lot with the painted mural and trick of the eye shading is so nostalgic. I will come back to finally try Pasta Sisters which is also in Helm's District.
