I want to preface this with saying I'm one of the most patient people, and it wasn't even about the waiting (and waiting) that was upsetting, rather the poor customer service received by the pharmacy manager, or whoever's photo is on the wall. A prescription was sent in for my daughter the day before for some antibiotics, we decided to see if it was available at around 10:30. The gal working the register was very kind and said it'll be around 30 minutes. No problem. We went and checked out goodwill next door and came back at 30 min. Again, she said it wasn't available and would be about 30 more minutes. Okay, went for a walk, came back, only to be told again, 30 more minutes. So we decided to wait at the pharmacy in hopes it would be done earlier. No one was in line, and again we were very patient, occupying our kids with toys and electronics. 30 min later the manager came over and curtly asked if we were waiting for a prescription (I think she was annoyed at my son talking to his friend), we said yes, she runs our name, walks over, fills the prescription and calls our name saying it's complete, literally no longer than 2 minutes. We walk over to her, she completely ignores us so we decided to get into the line that had formed. Just such bizarre belittling behavior. Anyway, I'll avoid this CVS in the future, thankfully being from out of town that shouldn't be a problem. read more

This pharmacy is absolutely terrible. They show no consideration for your time or your needs. The staff in the back were even arguing with each other and showing clear disrespect while customers were waiting. I had a 10:15 AM appointment for a flu shot that I booked online. I arrived five minutes early and ended up waiting 45 minutes with no update. I even told them after 30 minutes that I had been waiting, and they acknowledged they had actually forgotten about me. After that, I still waited another 15 minutes with no progress. As I finally decided to leave--because I have things to do and cannot wait endlessly--they suddenly called my name over the loudspeaker. A flu shot should take no more than five minutes, especially for someone with a scheduled appointment. They had more than enough time to help a customer who booked ahead. Because they refused to honor my appointment and wasted nearly an hour of my day, I am now behind on getting my flu shot during the time of year when it matters most. If I end up getting seriously sick this winter because I wasn't able to get the shot when scheduled, I will 100% place the blame on the CVS Pharmacy in South Lake Tahoe on Emerald Bay Road for not providing the service I was booked for. Their lack of organization and professionalism is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I hope they improve their system so other customers don't go through the same thing. read more

I'm visiting back home from college for Christmas break and needed a refill on my prescription so I came to this CVS as it was the prior location I came to for my prescriptions. The pharmacist at the register (Jasmine) was very unprofessional and had horrible customer service as she gave me dirty looks and proceeded to tell me I needed to go to drop off, with an attitude. Pharmacist Brittne was very kind, patient, had a smile on her face, and was able to help me refill my prescription, no problem. Don't know if Jasmine was having a bad day, but moral of the story, you should not be working in medicine if you can't treat ALL customers with kindness and respect. read more

Changing my pharmacy. I called and ordered a refill. The automated system said it would be ready by the end of the day. So I waited till the next day a went in, they didn't have it filled. The pharmacist said 20 minutes and it'll be ready. Waited 50 minutes and still wasn't ready so I left. I'm done with this pharmacy, the lines are long and slow, the automated phone service sucks and the customer service it's horrible. Just tell me it'll be 2 hours, don't lie and waste my time. The roommate and I were running errands. Stopped by CVS since I needed eye drops. We were here on Saturday, December 15th around 4:45pm. I ended up getting Visine Maximum Strength Redness Relief Formula ($9.29). The store is laid out like any other CVS, so the eye drops were easy to find. On the way back to the register, I saw they had alcohol gift sets on sale. Decided to grab a Glenlivet 12. It's regularly $42.99, but was on sale for $29.99. A great deal as I also got two glasses. We didn't have much in terms of glasses (and just kitchen stuff in general) at the house in Tahoe, so they came in handy. A convenient location in South Lake Tahoe. I have never been treated so horribly at any customer service location in my life. The pharmacist was extremely rude because of the huge line she said. Started the interaction by rolling her eyes before I even spoke with her. Was horrible when I told her that I didn't like how she was speaking to me and she just walked away. This pharmacy is full of incompetent workers that do not care about their customers well being! On several different occasions they have left me and my family to suffer without our medication. They never pre order it to have it in stock when they know you will be picking it like you always do every month! Yesterday I tried to fill my prescription again and I was told 6 days is when they would give it to me! 6 days are you kidding me?? I called customer service and they are just as bad as the store staff! She was trying to scare me into it changing pharmacies by telling me well you take the chance of it being a longer wait it you cancel with us and go somewhere else! Wow really you think someone will have to wait longer than the 6 days you promised me? Not likely! They have the snottiest women that work there as well, they are so rude and have no compassion and they have no idea what they're doing! I do not recommend this pharmacy to anyone ever!! When it comes to customer service these guys are the worst uncaring people and it's sad! They cause extra turmoil to their customers on a daily basis and then try to blame everything except themselves! They never apologize and act like the customer is an inconvenience to their day! Despite the fact that I had an appointment for my Covid shot, the pharmacist was required to take a break and I had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get the shot while she had lunch. In addition the waiting area had trash all over the floor from previous vaccinations. The chairs where they asked me to sit for 15 minutes after my Covid shot were right next to each other. I do not want to sit next to strangers 1 foot away. Staff did not all wear masks as well. The printed store guidelines, on signs all over the store, are not being followed. read more

I was visiting SLT from the Bay area and had not brought enough medication for my dog. The pharmacist or technician (not sure which) was so helpful. I was worried because my senior dog is in hospice care and cries if not on her gabapentin. I called them and they said "No problem". My veterinarian technician than called CVS and I was able to get a one week supply of medications for Shady. Thanks again to whoever helped me as dealing with prescription situations while traveling can be tough. read more

My mother and I went here on Christmas morning to do some last minute little Christmas shopping for trinkets. I was sitting at the photo center trying to figure out what pics to upload from my phone of my brand new grandson and I messed up on my phone and said shoot under my breath and the over weight cashier with the blotchy skin and scraggly dirty blonde hair asked rudely if I was talking to him and I said sorry no...I decided to stop the picture hunting and went to find my mother. We ended up not getting pictures printed so we got in line with the rest of our things and while standing in line scrolling through my text messages the same cashier abruptly and very loudly told me not to film him...um I absolutely was not filming him...in fact the people in front of us and behind us blurted out that the cashier seemed to be on drugs. I usually don't make assumptions like that but my mother and I could not have agreed more. Just being treated and talked to like that was so uncomfortable and also pretty scary. I really don't know why that cashier had it out for me like that but I did tell the manager who didn't seem too surprised just annoyed. Maybe he talked to the cashier I don't know but i sure do hope so. I think I will be going to the bigger cvs or maybe to Raley's. Very very uncomfortable situation there!! read more

Not sure if this is the correct CVS but my boyfriend and I were visiting south lake Tahoe and I ended up needing to go to the emergency room -they prescribed me medication to pick up. We chose the CVS closest to the hospital and they were closed at the time so my boyfriend and I got some food and came back because I prefer CVS over other places. My family and I locked ourselves out of the car in the next door goodwill. We came In here to buy a phone charger because my phone was dead and the employees were so helpful and soooooo kind. Unlike their next door Goodwill who basically barely let me use a phone to call a tow truck driver. First they said that my insurance company didn't approve my new (increased dose) prescription, and I needed to have my doctor send in another (after waiting in long line). Called my doctor, sent in new prescription. Then they said they called my insurance company and they couldn't find me. When I called back to confirm my insurance, they said the numbers didn't match and to call my insurance company. I called my insurance company, and they said all my numbers were right and at the very least they could look me up by name and DOB (and that CVS employees probably didn't know what they were doing). The insurance company offered to speak with CVS, waited on hold and couldn't wait any longer. I called, on hold for 20 mins, then someone comes and then hangs up on me. Then I call back and on hold for an hour. The medicine I needed was insulin and because of them, I now have worsening symptoms of my chronic illness. I will NEVER EVER use CVS again! It's a small store, minimum selection, unless you want alcohol or make-up. Store employees always seem down. It's clear that the staff moral is low. The pharmacy is a nightmare. This store seems like it is still recovering from the transition from Long's to CVS. I am still not sure why we need two CVS stores in town but I guess business is good. This store tends not to be as clean, and the parking lot is dirty a lot and I think that has to do with it's proximity to McDonald's. There are a few employees here who are not so knowledgeable, but there are other who are great and super friendly. It's a decent store. read more

Staff is nice. Pharmacy open outside 9am to 5pm hours and on weekends. Has some good prices on products sometimes. Was able to find products for my ankle when I sprained it, like ankle brace. Location makes it easier to get too with less traffic. Minus one star because prescription medications cheaper at tahoe valley pharmacy. But convenient hours were more important to me than paying slightly higher price for medications. read more
