CVS is a stop we usually make when staying in South Lake because of the convenience of it's location. If you're staying within a half mile, they have pretty good deals on basic essentials and even some apparel (shirts, sandals, flip flops, etc.) We came in to buy some water and they had signs up that due to the plastic bottle ban they aren't selling bottled waters. They still have waters in aluminum cans available. Service can be slow. The lines get long and move slowly, so perhaps come in during non peak hours or when they open. read more

Everyone in the Pharmacy department seemed to fully help each customer with their needs and questions, which may mean the line has a wait time, but when it is your turn...you feel fantastic! The Pharmacist on duty, Kevin, was super helpful, really going the extra mile. My husband just retired and we had to fill several prescriptions at this location. First time leveraging this pharmacy. Since my pick up date was close to a holiday did all the due diligence and called it in early, verified it was received and approximate timing to pick it up. However, when it's supposed to be ready I did not receive any notification so I call to verify and I learned via the automated system they have nothing in their system for me. I'm on day two of trying to reach a person to verify the issue and still waiting. The worst!!! Yes CVS please ask me 10 more times if I want to use your automated system. read more

I have refilled prescriptions with this CVS a handful of times now and everyone working in the pharmacy is pleasant and helpful, except for the tall older lady with shoulder length hair blond/gray hair. She was very rude, and seemed annoyed with every question I asked, like assisting me was a big inconvenience. She ordered (not asked) me to bag my own items. She seems like an unhappy person. I honestly don't know what it is about CVS that they can't speed up the process of checking people out! This is so frustrating! You come in to grab that one thing, then find yourself grabbing just a few more things, then wondering why you didn't grab that basket when you walked in. Then you get to the register and there's only one cashier, and there's 6 people in line and the person trying to pay can't remember their CVS number, has a coupon, it's paying in change and forgot her bag. Every time I need something, the staff, no matter how busy or whatever staffing issues they might have, always responds and goes out of their way to resolve issues I have with my insurance, Dr. office and referrals and gets them resolved so that I can get my prescription on time. The pharmacy staff is caring and helpful and I had to make sure to share this because they really go above and beyond always. I've had trouble at Safeway and Raley's but never here at CVS. I had a great experience at this CVS. I found a craft item at the other SLT location, but sadly there was just one, and I needed two (two DGDs) I called this location, they located the item and held it for me. I came and picked it up from the friendly staff. Two happy granddaughters crafted the late afternoon away. Wonderful service! read more

Awful customer service. We purchased a hugely overpriced snow sled for my daughter because we unfortunately forgot ours. The sled broke almost instantly. We took it back with receipt and they refused to exchange! I understand that people may try to take advantage and return overly used winter items, buy this was not the case. Everyone in this store is on drugs. The manager is even mental. We went in to print a document as that is apart of there services. It prints on photo paper and the guy helping us says oh I'm not familiar with that. You have to talk to a manager. Manager comes over and says we only print on photo paper we don't have normal paper then walks away and starts helping people in line. Poor service, poor attitudes. read more

I understand they can be overwhelmed at times, and I would be more patient, but it's been literally every time a battle with them instead of a conversation. I got sick and I forgot to pack a couple of things for the Tahoe trip. I checked out Raley's Cold/Flu section and found it on the pricier side (everything was over $10!) so I decided to duke out the runny nose and cough. I thought I could ignore it and survive. Since, I felt like dying after snow shoeing and our friend injured his foot after skiing, we decided to hit up CVS since we randomly passed it by. The cold/flu section had plenty of options with cheaper prices! I chose my cold/flu relief medication at $5.99! They had a bunch of other sales and deals on everything else too. Since I forgot a hair brush and the boys needed more beer we picked those items up there as well. Huge beer and liquor section, by the way! And good selection on different snack items. The customer service at this place us not good. We were at self check out and were having issues with the scanner not recognizing the weight of scanned items that we placed down after scanning. A blonde woman that worked there came over to us after we paid nearly $60 for our few items and abruptly cornered us and asked us if we scanned all items. We told her yes and that we didn't know side to put it on after scanning because both sides looked the same and there was no bags present to be the "bagging area". She was sarcastic to us and said that it was always on the left side. My boyfriend asked her if she wanted to see our receipt to show that we paid for everything. We were uncomfortable by the way she cornered us in front of other shoppers and couldn't just get to the point. She said yes and we showed her and indeed everything we purchased was on the receipt. She glanced quickly and said that we were "good to go". So incredibly rude and unnecessary. Not to mention embarrassing for her to come at us in front of a handful of other shoppers. The manager needs to reconsider what kind of people they are hiring at this place. Maybe they should take training on how to identify people that actually steal instead of cornering shoppers wide eyed like a crazy person. read more

This CVS location sold me a Covid test kit that had four used test kits inside the box. 3 of them did Weber not even the kind that are sold in that box. I went to pick up my prescription that my doctor had sent from San Jose because going to be out of medication that day.... (recovering from major surgery) when I got there the pharmacist told me that my doctor could not send a prescription further than 50 miles (she had previously sent them out of state previously) she also indicated that the main reason was that if she gave me my prescription then she would not have enough for her local customers. My thought is that the pharmacist is paid to distribute medication to ALL customers.... read more

I came here so often during a long weekend that one of the cashiers started teasing me. Great place for all those winter holiday emergency supplies: ice cream, hats , firewood, ice, pills, tampons, beer and bourbon (ok, I can see another reason the cashier might have teased me). Plenty of parking, and much shorter lines than the Safeway across the street. The prices were mostly cheap and the staff helpful and friendly. read more

Walked in and the store was a complete mess with boxes everywhere and stock not fully put out. I was looking for m&m's for one of their deals, but it was nowhere to be found. I asked one of the girls who had to open up some boxes of m&m's. She wasn't sure how much they were and pointed in the direction of the price checker for me to check, which they were the wrong ones, and she said she hasn't seen the other ones. The woman at the register insisted on having a bloody conversation (we're talking 5 min +) with every person in line in front of me, even when all they were buying was a pack of gum. They keep reorganizing the store, so finding sunscreen is like going on a Snipe hunt. Other than the pharmacist, the staff is generally pleasant, if overly chatty. They have a decent selection of stuffs for little people - kids, not midgets - but if I need a pharmacy or suncream, Safeway is right across the street. read more

It seems to me that CVS generally gets rotten reviews on yelp (CHECK ME IF I AM WRONG). Well here is another example of why this place kind of sucks: Customer Service 1. Upon purchasing something, I asked for two dollars worth of quarter in change. Reply: I can only do one dollar worth of quarter....False...The cash register CLEARLY had more than one dollar worth of quarters. 2. The team did not seem cohesive at all. Seemed like they were counting the minutes until their shift was over and dreaded their work. I can sympathize, but all this rubbed off as CVS not caring about it's customers. The staff just seemed irritated and not welcoming. This place is a frustrating experience, and I always leave the store with another reason to not like it. read more

The woman who was working in the Pharmacy does not use an "inside voice". I could hear her talking loudly to a man standing right in front of her about his anti-depressant meds. Everyone behind this poor man heard this private conversation. I couldn't hear him, just her. When it was my turn, she was still talking loudly. My prescription was also private. I left feeling humiliated and embarrassed. Next time I need a prescription filled, I'll go elsewhere. The prices here are a bit better than Raley's sometimes and they usually have a better selection of drugstore type items than Raleys. The staff is helpful and friendly. I am a 15 year Tahoe local and I love this store. l love the rewards program and l enjoy the employees. l have never had a negative experience and l am there once a week at least. 1- To the person who complained about product boxes being out on the floor and not emptied will happen when the economy takes a dump in your town and your cashier now has to fill the floor as well. 2- To the person who complained about only one size of bubble bath YOU COULD have had an awesome HUGE jug and not had to go back and buy more at a later time...its not like that stuff expires.
