The pharmacy staff are paid to do nothing. They took my prescription and info. I returned for pick up two hours later and the SAME staff had no idea who I was and said they hadn't put anything in to fill for me. They asked for my rx note THAT THEY HAD ALREADY TAKEN FROM ME! I had to wait for 20 mins in the drive-thru, to hear all that when I went inside because NO ONE WOULD COMMUNICATE ANYTHING. They asked me to wait 20-30 mins. I refused after such poor service. This review is for the pharmacy. I recently moved to the area from Arlington and have several co-existing medical conditions so it's safe to say I've been to a LOT of pharmacies. This is literally the WORST PHARMACY I've been to ever. The pharmacists are absolutely rude and make it extremely difficult to fill any medication. In one instance I was denied an asthma medication - albuterol - simply because the pharmacist didn't want to give me two at a time (despite the prescription from my doctor saying that I need two inhalers with my dosage) and the pharmacist, Sarah, was beyond rude and only supplied me with a single inhaler - just a 20 day supply at the dosage instead of what was prescribed by my doctor. This same pharmacist refused to fill another medication I am prescribed because she somehow was under the impression that my doctor told her to call him first before filling in a prescription. The prescriptions were written or called in directly from him, and yet she still refused to fill the prescriptions until she spoke with him directly for whatever reason. This impacted my medical conditions because I was not able to get the medicine I needed in time - without the medication I was put at risk for having seizures. I think she needs to be reviewed by whatever pharmaceutical board exists because this is poor patient care. I understand that pharmacists must be careful and prudent when filling prescriptions but this pharmacist is taking it way too far as if she is a doctor herself or trying to play God. Sarah is the pharmacist. I do not recommend her. And it's even more frustrating because when I did make these points directly to Sarah she just brushed it off and now she treats me even more poorly because I expressed my concerns and the impact on my health. She's also refused to transfer eligible prescriptions! Just insane stuff for no reason. Dealing with this pharmacy is also really frustrating because they tell you a wait time of 1 to 2 hours and you end up waiting six hours for your medication to be ready. That's a lot of time spent on the phone on hold waiting for a status update when you're told to expect a medication ready for pick up at a certain time and it's not ready on a very consistent basis. It was A-OK. We were not here for the pharmacy, but rather, my husband had lost his prescription glasses and needed some "cheaters" ASAP. There was a nice variety and he tried on a number of pair before he finally selected one. There appeared to be all the usual sundries associated with a local pharmacy. So we head to the check-out. This is where they lose stars. One checker, 6 people in line, and the person checking out was taking long enough for someone in the store to celebrate their next birthday while waiting. Is there really no one else working in the store who can see how frustrated the customers are getting? Maybe get your behind to a cash register? Legitimately the slowest worst CVS on the planet. Takes at least 30 min to get a prescription and they NEVER answer the phone. Complain to the manager and she doesn't care at all. Have changed from this CVS because it's a non-issue anywhere else. They've mixed medicine wrong before for us and when I went to go pick up medication for our son who was vomiting, it took 2 days to get ready when guess what? He wasn't vomiting anymore! This review is for the pharmacy only. I finally just moved my prescription to another pharmacy. This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever visited and I've used cvs pharmacy since it was Peoples. Whoever manages this pharmacy should be trained and they need to desperately hire new staff. They are always "understaffed" and I have waited in the drive thru as well as in the store for an hour on several occasions. It's absolutely ridiculous. A long time ago, Tyson Corner Center had a CVS inside the mall but sadly it closed down and we had to go to Vienna for the closest CVS in area. We were super excited when we found out that there will once again be a CVS near us and it will be 24 hours! The pharmacist is really knowledgeable and helpful. Once, my wife had an emergency and the pharmacist even prioritized her prescription seeing that she was in a lot of pain. We've also asked them about different medications on several occasions and they explained thoroughly while guiding us on the most suitable ones. The place is clean and usually well stocked. Now open. This CVS is located where the old Wells Fargo (Wachovia) bank branch was on Rt. 7. While it's hard to get excited about a new drug store opening ... it's certainly convenient to have a 24-hour drug store nearby. Do Not Trust Your Prescriptions with Tysons VA CVS My normal prescription could not be refilled because the manufacturer is upgrading its facilities. Knowing this, I looked for an alternative brand that could be filled with a script. The CVS in Tysons, VA gave me the name of one they had in stock and could fill. I asked my doctor to call it in, which he did. CVS didn't fill it and I had to hunt it down to find out why. They don't have it in stock and didn't want to order the medication. I pushed and the CVS woman finally agreed to order it and said it would come in 'tomorrow'. It did not come in "tomorrow" and now I'm told I must wait 4 MORE days before it will come in! This is a full 7 days before I can get my medication. This whole problem COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED with competent pharmacy staff! I am out of medication and may need to go to the hospital just to get medication. Does CVS care? HELL NO. read more

This review exclusive for their pharmacy. Every single time I come here they have such a slow customer service. I believe if they know is a busy location they need to be better staffed. There was a line of 11 people waiting just to drop off and pick up their medication. The cashier told a customer that complain about the slow service sorry im the only one here. I was like there better ways to talk to customers. The drop off station was closed so you are force to make just one line for all inquiries. The cashier keep sending all customers to make this one single line. There was elderly people that could barely stand by themselves. Also, having customers to confirm personal i formation in front of others for me is out of line. Ask for the driver license or other method of identification instead. I'm very disappointed with their service just because the fact that I have to spent time in a line could it be avoided, and I could it spent a beautiful afternoon in a sunny Friday eating in a restaurant and leaving a positive yelp review instead. read more

CVS Pharmacy rating: Rimaz and Jerry were great. Rimaz was especially helpful at applying a pharmacy cost saving code so that i could save 90% on something that wasn't covered by insurance. Jerry, the pharmacist, rang me up, answered questions about vaccines, and administered the shots. The pharmacy is busy on a Wednesday at 2:30pm. (Not crowded with people busy but clearly there were lots of prescriptions to fill). It's the middle of a pandemic and omicron surge. CVS is contracted with my health insurance plan (bcbs) to be the only provider for the flu vaccine. They are a major supplier and provider for testing, vaccines, pharmaceutical products so they are an important resource in the community. I understand why many have left low ratings in the past. I think it's a combination of overwhelming need meets a resource that is trying to cut costs or keep costs low, hence staffing shortages, etc. CVS has room for better executive decisions. But for this review, the people working in the pharmacy today are doing their best to keep up and I appreciate their help. read more

I am absolutely shocked and appalled that I was sent away when I needed to fill a prescription for my husband who just had surgery!! "Too busy to fill today" I was told at 6 pm when closing time is 10pm. This is a chain, therefore, they have a wide variety of anything you may need from a drugstore. This review is meant to shed light on the horrible customer service. First of all, every employee has been rude to us. Secondly, they try to tell you false information so they don't have to help you.. for example, when attempting to print a photo, the screen froze. I asked for the employee's help when he said "you have to download an app". Turns out it was false and we just needed a code to initiate the printing process. I have been going to CVS my entire life. This is by far the worst pharmacy I've been to. It took TWO WEEKS for them to refill one of my prescriptions that I've been taking for close to 10 years. They said they no longer made my Rx in the amount I used to get and had to get doctor approval for a different size. My doctor sent them faxes, left VMs, etc and they never took action. I had to go IN PERSON today to personally make sure that I watched the Pharmacist call my doctor and FINALLY get my Rx filled. If I hadn't gone in and made sure the Pharmacist did his job, I would've never gotten my meds. The best part - another woman was there facing THE SAME ISSUE. I fulfill all my family prescriptions here, pharmacist are knowledgeable and friendly, prescriptions take under 15 minutes to get ready. The big plus for this location is the fact that it's 24 hours (that's just the store though not the pharmacy). The store is generally clean and has all the essentials all CVSs offer however if you are planning to go to town and fulfill a large shopping list I recommend you take a 5 minutes trip down the road to the newly opened Walmart and save a bundle! read more

Love, Love, Love this CVS! I got a new job in the Tysons area in October 2013 when the CVS was being built. I was so excited to have a CVS close to work because I HATE the CVS by my apartment in Oakton. I went in on opening day and couldn't believe how nice it was! Yes, it was brand new so the inside was fully stocked and completely clean and neat but that wasn't all that was great about it. The staff was amazing & extremely helpful & now, 6 months later, the inside is still as spotless as it was the day they opened and the staff & employees are just as helpful and friendly! Every time I walk in, they say hello and ask me if I need any help finding anything. I also get my prescriptions from this CVS. The pharmacist that I have dealt with seems young but very educated and friendly. I absolutely love this CVS and will continue using this one since it is so convenient to my work! I literally think I go here at least once a week..I think they know me by now! So happy they opened :) read more

I unfortunately did not have a good experience with this CVS, particularly the pharmacy. My experience was an example of lackluster customer service. I've waited in line at this location before opening hours to pick up prescriptions before work which isn't a problem. In this case, I was the only person and it was 2 minutes before opening. While I noticed the gates rising on one side, I knew it wouldn't be long before the gates started rising in front of me. However, this morning's pharmacist needed to verbally state they weren't open yet and then decided not to open the gates directly in front of me. Glad to know 2 minutes is that important rather than providing good service. Instead of waiting, I just left. Literally the worst pharmacy you could ever go to. They are so slow and understaffed. Once they finally get to you in line or on the phone they are so rushy and don't do half of what they say. For example I asked to update my address and she rushed me off the phone and then when I asked her to read me back my address I heard a big sigh and she read it back wrong. An odd man walked up to the counter while eating cookies as he was explaining how to take my newly prescribed meds, he politely asked he to back up ( I would've been a lot more forthcoming). When I left upset, he asked if I was sure I understood how to take them, I declined his help even tho I didn't really didn't know. This CVS has a Drive through waited for 20 min hit the call button 3 times no one came. Drove around walked in just to drop off a prescription realized they looked over whelmed so I understood. Dropped my prescription a prescription that literally took 5 seconds to fill. I was Told to wait so I waited it would be 20 min ......40 min later I finally walked up and asked if it was ready. They said not yet then someone from the back said did you expedite it ? Literally 2 min later it was ready. Seems like they have plenty of people working but a busy pharmacy and the employees look over worked and in the weeds. I would recommend any other pharmacy I will be going to a new one. read more
