I just have to give a BIG THANK YOU to Sanjay for being awesome in the Print Center. I was there late in the day and he had a 250 page printing job going on and someone else was questioning him about a Brazilian passport photo (apparently neither of these geniuses could have thought to go to a business printer instead of a drug store). I was there to get a few pages of tax forms and a couple photo prints. I have to admit that Sanjay has wayyyyyyy more patience and understanding than I will ever have. Went to this pharmacy today for two reasons -- to pick up a prescription and to purchase OTC cough medication. They weren't able to fill the prescription for the quantity requested by my physician. I'll give them a pass on this though as it's an unusual prescription that they probably don't have a lot of demand for. I was also able to get the generic version of the OTC cough medicine that I wanted, saving a few bucks by selecting the Walgreens brand. I'm giving Walgreens only 3 stars for a few reasons. First, the cash registers weren't manned at the front of the store. There was an employee there on the phone, discussing "yesterday's power outage", but he completely ignored me as I stood ready to check out. After about 2 minutes, another friendly employee did come to help me. Also, I find it frustrating that the store's best pricing requires you to purchase at least two items. "buy one, get one free". "buy one, get one at 50% off". I really want that cough syrup to work before I need that 2nd bottle of syrup! read more

By FAR the worst WALGREENS experience. PLEASE do not use this location for ANY of your FEDEX pick up & drop off packages. The package I dropped off yesterday to be returned was just delivered BaCK to my home this morning (from Maple Location). I have been on the phone since this morning with the retailer trying to obtain a new return label but it's showing in their system that the package is in route back to retailer (when it's sitting right in front of me). I called the Maple location and the FEDEX agent was RUDE and couldn't care less about the HUGE inconvenience this has caused me. This location doesn't even deserve 1 star. read more

Good employees! I'd like to thank them. Here is a very friendly place. Sometimes we need to wake up quickly. Get a large candy bar with a Mountain Dew soda. Eat the bar and chug the drink. You're welcome as you'll be wide eyed for some time. Here they have that combination. Also they have a pharmacy and supplies. A clean and relatively organized store. The reward card number is a minor annoyance. So wish retailers would get rid of this tactic. On a positive note, Walgreens tends to be cheaper than CVS. I applaud them for this, and the ready availability of over the counter medications. This is a good location to visit. read more

Caveat emptor: about a month ago I got a free offer if I filled out a survey for Walgreen. I wouldn't have paid attention except that it was from Walgreens where I get prescriptions filled. I answered the questions and picked out my free gift. Except it turned out not to be a free gift. Hidden in the terms of service was the fact it was a subscription trial with a 14 days opt out and the requirement to return my free gift (tos says free trial). I had 14 calendar days, but that was 14 days from date ordered and it had to be cancelled the day before the 14th day- really more like 10 day trial. If I can spare anyone the annoyance and cost because they are charging me $87 X2 for the free trial, it will be worth posting. It is a mediocre overpriced produce. I am posting this here because the offer came through Walgreen's. I have no complaint about this particular store. Service is always good. read more

Each encounter was worst then the first. She has no people skills and treats customers as if they are a bother. I overheard a comment she made to a customer that was totally unprofessional. I had the most amazing experience with the pharmacy this morning- specifically a pharmacist named Tina. I was 20 minutes late for my appointment and didn't even have all my documentation after an extremely hectic morning. Tina was professional, compassionate, understanding - and it all worked out. We always used the PanAm Walgreens because they have a drive-thru and this one does not but I have never encountered such a competent pharmacist before today - regardless of whether it was a Walgreens or another chain... we will definitely be back for any prescription needs. Plus they have ample disabled parking spaces... perhaps it's because the building used to be for a grocery store(?) but generally it's hard to find disabled parking open at other nearby locations. They also took their covid precautions seriously between customers as they were masked and used hand sanitizer between customers. read more

There was a young man that worked behind the pharmacy for quite a while, named Mohammed. He was always very personable and helpful, and I looked forward to seeing him to pick up my refills. However, he is no longer there, and my last phone call to the pharmacy was rather unpleasant. Based on the turn off voice and questions asked, I think it was a pharmacist, but they were very terse and put me off. Mohammed was good for business. read more

Recently moved to the area, and I intended to go to Walgreens for prescriptions and vaccinations, like I always do. After one visit, I know that I'll be looking elsewhere. Literally the rudest pharmacy staff I've ever dealt with - and this was just a regular interaction, not one where I was trying to get a problem resolved. I went in for a flu shot, and am still trying to wrap my head around how the staff here are allowed to interact with customers. People with vaccination appointments have to get in the regular line, which makes no sense - so if you have a 12pm appointment, you wait in the line, no matter how long it is, to get to the window and let them know you have an appointment (every other pharmacy I've been to for a shot has had a separate check-in window.) The two women I dealt with at the counter clearly did not want to be working there. One checked me in, and seemed irritable from the get-go. She gave me a form to fill out, and as I walked away, snapped "I wasn't finished talking!" and then gave me completely unnecessary info. The pharmacist herself seemed pleasant but very rushed. This just seems to be a very poorly run pharmacy, with staff that are poorly trained in customer service. Based on the other reviews, this is an ongoing problem, and I'm shocked that the business doesn't care enough to try to improve the situation. I'll be looking elsewhere for my needs. read more

First time attempting to return a product at this store, and they demand to see an ID just so the corporation can collect and exploit personal information from each of their customers. They claim that "its to verify you actually purchased the item", but how dumb do they think we are? I never gave them an ID to buy the item so how would they know who bought it? It's also a way for them to reduce the number of returns by hassling customers. Do we ask them to provide their ID when we buy products? NO. Would they give us their ID? NO. The manager at this location was very unhelpful and refused to allow any return or exchange without an ID. He would not offer a gift card either even though I had the receipt, they still would not honor a refund for a defective item. I had to travel to the Fairfax location, whose supervisor was much more helpful, but overall, I will never buy another product from Walgreens. read more

If I could give this Walgreens zero stars I would. That is how incompetent the staff and manager are at this location. I had my Fed Ex package sent here to be held until I got back from my vacation. Package arrive and was held. The next day, idiot employee sends my package back to sender after holding it less than 24 hrs. They are supposed to hold it for 5 days. I call them asking what is going on and why Fed ex is notifying me I did not pick up the package from location. Employees lie to me saying it never arrived even though tracking record says it it. After talking with Fed Ex and then the employees at this Walgreens that they finally admitted to the mistake. Manager refused to talk to me or even apologize for their mistake. If they can't even hold a package for 5 days for you to pick up, imagine the screw ups they make with their prescriptions. read more

My son and I went in for a flu shot. Nobody was waiting to get any vaccines or any prescriptions yet they turned us away for a flu shot. They said you need to have an appointment. Once again no one was there except for two pharmacist. It took a lot of effort to go there since I have a broken foot and I'm in a cast. I mention to them it's very difficult for me to get in and out of the house. All they said was sorry you need an appointment. Can anyone justify this? Needless to say there are two other pharmacies and Vienna that allow walk-ins. This is why I avoid big box pharmacies. Corporate is dictating their customer service. Do not use this pharmacy unless you enjoy being extremely frustrated. I have to make multiple calls every month to make sure my scripts are ready on time and in stock. I reminded them last week that I had a refill due and I called the night before and they hadn't ordered it so I had to miss a couple of doses and unfortunately it was pain medication and I had to work. They will never take responsibility for their mistakes. I was even given the wrong prescription once. I've stayed because one of my prescriptions is less expensive here, but I've reached the point where I'm willing to pay more to avoid the hassle. read more

Go here if you want to get ripped off. These people are dishonest crooks. Three examples: May 2018: I ordered my 3 month supply of insulin (insurance required me to buy it from Walgreens or on-line). The vials expired in JUNE OF 2018, which means if I had not noticed, I would have been taking expired medicine for July and August. March 2019: Some meds for my kid, they did not have in stock. Said they would order it. 5 days later, 3 days after they said it would be in, it was still not in. Kid was out, so I called around to find someone else who had it in stock. I drove from Vienna to Oakton to the CVS. The CVS filled the prescription, but the insurance did not go through. You see, according to Walgreen's in Vienna, I picked up the meds 5 days earlier. I drove back to Vienna, they fixed it. Then picked up the meds in Oakton. That is insurance FRAUD. May 24, 2019: they entered the wrong code on the medicine. So, instead of costing me $5, they billed in the $100's. And they would not look into what was different between the April and May order. Turns out they needed to enter in a code. I had to find out. I did get angry, and explained why. They threatened to call the police rather than helping me. read more

Absolutely incompetent pharmacy. Many times given wrong RX! Luckily I am a nurse and caught their mistakes, but errors like this can be fatal. Last time I picked up meds from them and opened bag to find two bottles of pills with out caps. Terrible customer service, bought a product that had expired and the shift supervisor didn't feel like issuing me a full refund because I had opened one of the (3 year old) product packages!!! The cashier was super friendly and tried to be helpful as much as he could (5 stars for that), but when the shift supervisor came over to approve the refund she was extremely rude, disrespectful and definitely turned me away from ever entering this store again! read more

I live very close by to this Walgreens and use it for purchases that are in between my monthly staples runs at the big box grocer. Over the past two years that I have lived in the neighborhood, this Walgreens has been out of beer an average of 3 weeks between deliveries. As well, this Walgreens has been out of cigarettes since March 27th. It is clear that either the Walgreens management cannot manage its vendors, or supply chain fraud exists. It would be upsetting if the beer and cigarette outage was attributable to a politicized and virtue signaling order clerk. NO other Walgreens in Fairfax County have this problem - I am led to believe the problem is attributable to dysfunctional management at this location. read more

Rude and unhelpful pharmacist, to the point that I preferred to cancel my prescriptions rather than pick them up and have to deal with her again. I had to have my meds transferred from Kaiser to Walgreens, and my insurance changed. She visibly and audibly did not feel like dealing with this, and made the process extremely uncomfortable and frustrating. The most annoying thing would have to be her talking over me on the phone and not letting me finish a sentence before saying something that doesn't even answer my question, seemingly just to get me off the phone. Yes, Terry was terrific, and I think the staff turnover was difficult. But they have good people in the pharmacy now, and I always like their cashiers. I was actually very happy when this Walgreens opened, so I wish I was here writing a positive review for the store, but sadly that isn't going to be the case. Instead I'm going to write a review warning people about using this store and their parking lot. AVOID THIS STORE AND THEIR PARKING LOT! I wasn't a fan of the Safeway that use to exist in this location, the store was dingy, poorly stocked and they were extremely hostile about the parking lot. As a result I actively avoided the Safeway and their lot. When the Walgreens went in however they seemed to be more realistic about it and put up signs limiting parking to 30 minutes. The store was nice, new, shiny and clean and well stocked. I frequently found myself hitting the Chipotle next door for food, Walgreens for odds and ends including some tasty red vines and my bank on the opposite side. It was great given all three were right next to each other and I could knock out three errands without having to move my car. Apparently however the Walgreens has changed their mind and has hired and extremely aggressive tow company to police their lot. This tow company will tow you and charge you $125 for the experience for merely daring to walk into any store but Walgreens first. How did I find this out you may ask? Well I found this out last night when my car was towed literally 5 minutes after arriving, long enough for me to walk into Chipotle to pick up the order I'd placed a half hour ago online before walking over to Walgreens. The towing company was hostile and unapologetic and accused me of stealing by parking in that spot to run two errands. This store has lost a customer and I will tell everyone I can to beware of what basically amounts to extortion on the part of the tow company. I understand the people from the Jammin Java tend to take all of the parking during their concerts, but punishing actual customers is unforgivable. For shame Walgreens, I'll order my Red Vines online and use the CVS instead. If you absolutely must go here be sure to go into Walgreens first! Though given how hostile the tow company is and the fact that store employees told us this happened to another customer earlier in the day I'm not even sure going into Walgreens first will help. read more

I have been going to this pharmacy on a monthly basis for the past 4-5 years, and I am FINALLY getting the intelligence to simply use mail order moving forward and I will outline the reasons below that consumers should AVOID this location at all costs: 1) 10 minutes prior to closing time, I have been 'waved' away in an effort to get me to get out of line and LEAVE to avoid them having to process an order for me to pick up my medication. 2) 60-75% of the time when I order my medication via the phone system, it states it is ready, when I arrive to pick up the medication (which I depend on to live, no less) it is NOT available. They have to order it from another store, costing me 2 trips to the store, A WASTE OF TIME. 3) The pharmacists are liars. I've been told on multiple occasions to return to the pharmacy on a subsequent day and time to pick up medication that wasn't in stock previously. When returning, they still didn't fulfill their word, and did not have the medication as promised. 4) Claims that a medication I am on that was released a year ago, is no longer being manufactured- The pharmacy gave me incorrect information, which was an outright lie and an attempt to avoid fulfilling my request. I had to get my doctor's office involved- another waste of MY time because of WALGREENS. 5) They have instructed me to pick my medication up in Centreville, because it didn't arrive with their shipment- like this is now my problem, not their problem? At any NORMAL job in the professional world, failing to fulfill promises you've made to a customer repeatedly such as these particular pharmacists do, and instances outlined above, would result in IMMEDIATE TERMINATION. I am uncertain why these individuals can operate in a deceptive manner, and still maintain employment. In living in the DC metro area for nearly 20 years, in DC/MD/VA, this is by far the worst pharmacy I have experienced, and will no longer be giving a dime of my or my insurance company's money to this joke of a business. I encourage anyone reading this to think twice if you expect medication ON TIME and in the full amount. They rarely are capable. read more

Mixed review here. I deal with the pharmacy, the rest of the store is okay though there are never enough cashiers. Usually I pick up my meds in the store and everyone is very nice except for Mohammed. I'm sorry to say, he has the attitude that he does not want to be there and is very reluctant to do anything besides check out. That's been fine for my in and out visits. However, with the coronavirus scare and having underlying conditions I have medications ready for pick up but I don't want to pick them up. Mohammed did something that canceled the text messages I was getting before so I just found out 3 prescriptions are waiting. I talked to Joseph who was most wonderful and did everything he could to get the delivery option going but still no solution. The worst part was when Mohammed picked up the phone when I was holding for Joseph and very rudely told me they were busy and I had to call back. When I asked him to ask Joseph to call me then he just hung up. I have to say this is a negative review for me because of Mohammed. To put it bluntly, he is a jerk. Joseph was wonderful and I'll try to resolve the problem by calling Walgreens main number tomorrow. read more

I used the package pickup service at this Walgreens, which is a mistake I will never make again. The customer service was incredibly slow and the organization of packages was seemingly non-existent. This is the WORST pharmacy I have ever used. This pharmacy sold me a $600 box of inert non-working medicine and then refused to replace it saying, "you don't have a problem with our service, it's the company that made it". They said it would be a long process and the drug company would replace it, but agreed to sell me a new box for $570. The waiting time was two hours when I have been receiving from the system (human activated) several phone calls that my order was ready. When I arrived, the lady told me that I was not in the system, and I explained that I have been receiving the phone calls that my order was ready, and she asked me to wait 30 more minutes. I went to do groceries and I came back an hour and a gentleman this time told me to wait 30 more minutes, and I told him I already gave an hour an my order was "supposedly" ready. I waited 30 more minutes, and when I was going to pay, which I have insurance, and I have used it before there, they told me that my insurance was not activated.
