Rude staff in the pharmacy. Obviously not interested in helping patients obtain prescription medicine that their providers have ordered for them so they may have some quality of life. Very uncaring pharmacists. CVS is too big and needs to be taken down a notch so they may be reminded what keeps them in business! Another pharmacy like Walgreens or a mom and pop type of store has to do better than this particular store and CVS PERIOD! Big FAIL! Do not go here. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever been too. I'm on medication that needs to be taken daily. Apparently that doesn't matter to them. My doctor sent over the script on Thursday, I waited all weekend without getting a call from them and finally I rang on Sunday. They informed me the Rx won't be ready until Friday because they have to order it. Why fishy they call me to tell me this!? When I questioned why so long they told me it was a med they can only order so much of. I've been on this drug for 15 years now, and have yet to hear that excuse. Now I'm not sure what their system is but I can only assume they are incompetent in keeping track of inventory because the excuse "they are out of stock" happens every other month. The pharmacist at this site, Jihad Suleiman, was very helpful and courteous. When our coupon for a medication did not work, he was very patient and gave on suggestions on what other coupons to try. He had to make us wait to help other customers, but he explained everything, and did so in a kind way, so we did not mind the wait. read more

The pharmacy staff is good, but the floor people are hit/miss. There's one crazy lady (late 40s, white) w what looks like a 6 year old practiced doing make up on her, and she's their beauty expert! She's too helpful, intense, I want to tell her to get the hell away from me, crazy vibes. The other beauty expert (50s, African American) is calm and knowledgable and says hello to me every time I go in, great experience. I know this is a mixed review, but it's a mixed bag in there! There is a cashier (40s, Indian) that is so nice and helps me max my coupons at the self check out, very patient, sweet. But the other regular lady (50s, Chinese) is rude. This is by far the worst CVS I have ever been to. The service is slow and terrible and their shelves are so bare it looks like the whole town was trying to stock up on food before a storm. Last time I was there to pick up some Milk they were completely out except for one carton which was only half full. The pharmacy cannot seem to get prescriptions correct and I routinely show up to pick it up after its been filled and they don't have it. My recommendation, avoid this place and head to the new CVS on Mt. Auburn and Arlington. read more

This is for the pharmacy. A CVS is suppose to be a CVS no matter where you go. I've never had problems with getting service from the other 7-10 stores I've used in the Boston area. Poor service, and poor management. The extra star is only because it's handy to have 24h place. They ran out of my daily medication and did not inform me until I tried to pick it up. When I did the pharmacist told me she did not know any drug like it, (my doc said a pharm student would have been able to answer in their sleep) and then that they don't bother their distributors. Sorry thought I was the customer. Recently I picked up my script and then for following two days had this location tell me they didn't have enough medication to fill the script that I had already picked up. One call fine, but two? Although it is a clean/well put together store, the employees seriously lack manners! Nobody is walking through the aisles checking to see if you need help, instead are just twiddling their thumbs behind a counter. Even when I ask for help they rarely even acknowledge me. I will not get into detail of my horrible experience with one employee in particular (because it was several months ago and I do forgot some things and do not want to share false information). The environment is chilling, no happiness in the whole store. I used this pharmacy for years because it is open 24 hours, but I literally cannot remember a time when I have picked up a prescription here without incident. To say that the pharmacists and techs here lack professionalism would be a gross understatement. They are super slow and act like they really could not care less. They seem to have huge problems managing their inventory. Commonly, they will be out of stock on medications. They will offer to order it for you so you can pick it up on a later date or dispense part of the amount and tell you to come back for the rest. I have been on line here and have overheard them dispensing partial prescriptions to multiple people. When they can't find a prescription that has been called in or sent electronically, they invariably dismissively blame the problem on my doctor's office. With considerable prodding on my part and big delays, and an incredulous attitude on their part, they will look again and will typically discover that the problem was on their side. Once when this happened they sent me away without allergy medicine only to call me a few hours later to tell me they had located the prescription and I could come back and pick it up. This was pretty much the last straw for me. I now only use the Newtonville CVS, which is outstanding and try to plan ahead so I don't need anything when they are closed. read more

I've been dealing with this pharmacy for 25 years and have for most of that time had very little to complain about. But in the past several years I have found no business with customer service as appallingly bad as this store. This past week, I requested a refill of a vitally needed medicine, and was informed that renewal required physician's authorization. They offered to contact the physician and I decided to rely on that offer. Five days later, with my supply near zero, they claimed not to have received the authorization, and said they had tried to reach him three times, to no avail. When I called my doctor, he said he had authorized the renewal right away, and would do so again. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED!!!! IN THE WRONG CIRCUMSTANCES, SUCH CARELESS ON CVS's PART COULD BE LIFE-THREATENING!!!!! Good gosh, what has gone wrong at this once-admirable store? read more

I do not recommend coming here to get photos printed. Their email notification system does not work, we stood in the store for a long time waiting for the email (that we were told when ordering we would receive once it was ready). Turns out our order had been sitting at the counter basically the whole time. Their customer service button also does not work unless you slam it. read more

This CVS has a decent layout. They're usually good for a quick in & out. The parking lot is big enough, but can get crowded in the dinner hours because it's shared by Not Your Average Joe's and a few other spots. read more

Not a fan of this location at all. There is an older woman(long grey hair) that manages and is SO mean. Not only to customers but I always hear her yelling at the younger employees. The slowest pharmacy in town. When crowded, their space is too small to fit enough staff to handle the crowd. On 'off' hours they're understaffed. In either case you wait and wait. Went in for a simple flu shot and they said it would take 15 min and they would call my name. I gave them my insurance info and after 20 min of waiting I asked if I was all set and they said my insurance info was not enough. Why didn't they tell me this earlier I have no idea. Can I give negative stars? This place is so terrible CVS corporate should shut it down or better yet fire their entire pharmacy staff and hire competent people who have brains and value a job. I have been on hold for 17 mins now to request my Rx be transferred there from HVMA Watertown since I will not make it to their pharmacy in time to pick up. The staff is always running around like crazy people, one may think it's because they are just that busy but reality is clearly they are disorganized and incompetent. It's a CVS in Watertown, not midtown Manhattan. YOU'RE NOT THAT BUSY. My favorite is when you, the consumer, take all the proper steps to insure your prescription will be ready when you want it to be. CVS will even send you a text message telling you your prescription is ready to be picked up. You arrive, wait in line surrounded by sick or angry people who feel the same way about the Watertown pharmacy as you do, only to finally make it to the register to be told A) your Rx is not ready or B) they never got the script request, have no idea what you are talking about and look at you like you have 17 heads. And rather than being apologetic for their mistakes they act as if you are just a giant inconvenience and blame their equally incompetent system. I had an emergency appt with my dentist as the left side of my entire face had swelled. He prescribed a stronger antibiotic and pain med, and told me to go to the 24hr CVS in Watertown Sq to fill as it was 8:30 on Sat 5/23. I immediately went to have this filed, gave the script to Michelle (service technician) who says she will check with the pharmacist to see if they can fill my percocet order as I had a "vicodin" prescription filled on Wed. This upset me to hear as I was in so much pain, I told her "give me a break, look at my face is so swollen and I am in pain, how long will it take to fill this. She responds that since it is a "new" prescription it will take a HALF HOUR to fill. I asked why so long when there is no one here, but me. Michelle said new prescriptions take that long to fill. I went to appeal to Mary Ho the Pharmacist (who heard the entire conversation), refused to look in my direction instead making one phone call after another. Finally when I got her eye contact I said "please do not ignore me". That is when she got off the phone and told me that new prescriptions take ONE HOUR to fill and who did I think I was more important that other CVS customers. After waiting more than twenty minutes I went to CVS in Belmont, gave them both prescriptions, waited, they called my name and gave me only one prescription, had to wait for the other one to be filled, they explained they didn't know I had two, which is really stupid as I dropped they off together. Anyway, took and hour and one half to fill two prescriptions. I didn't get home until 10:00. My dentist was outraged and said they should have called him if they questioned anyone. My dentist said my condition was sooo bad that had I waited any longer they would have had to hospitalize me. I was outraged that the service tech -- Michelle would even comment on filling my pain medication as it is none of her business what I am prescribed. Tried to act like I was some sort of drug addict getting my fix. I explained the two root canals I had on Wed, the doctor prescribed vicodin and antibiotics. On Sat when I woke to my face double in size, swollen through my eyes, my dentist saw me in THIRTY MINUTES after I called him and prescribed super duper antibiotics and a stronger pain med to get through this infection. Ms. Ho was especially cruel seeing me in pain and instead of assisting me in any way ridiculing me for wanting my prescription filled. I told the manager if it takes an HOUR for each new script to be put through, I can't understand why anyone would go there. Apparently CVS in Watertown is soooooo big they don't care about losing customers. Rude, nasty, mean, bullying services in the prescription department along with a longgggg wait, that is what you get in Watertown. Makes me look back to the old days when people actually appreciated their customers, the old Mom & Pop drugstore from years past. i went to Corbett Drug Store and they greeted me every time I filled a prescription. read more

My mother brought my brother and I to the minute clinic in this CVS to get a quick check up for our sore throats. The nurse/physician was super rude and no one liked her. She was in her little room for like ten minutes and then opened the door, and there was no one inside! So everyone was wondering: What was she doing? And why are we waiting to be treated by a mediocre, rude nurse? There was a full line of people. We all wanted to know how long the wait would be and she refused to stay past 6:40 when the sign said that the nurses would leave at 7:00. After she started to get questioned by angry and confused patients, including my mom, she got an attitude. And with that attitude came smart remarks that set off World War III between the everyday civilians on a Tuesday afternoon vs. the impatient, lazy nurse with the attitude. So... we ended up leaving along with some other people that didn't have time for her nonsense. In conclusion.......Don't go to this CVS, ever, or you will have an argument with the nurse and have an urge to call corporate and try to get the CVS minute clinic shut down. read more

I hardly ever leave a review, but after what happened this morning at this CVS I had to say something. I have been a customer of CVS for at least 18 years in different parts of the country. I am in this CVS several times a week and have to say the location is good. The store is clean and always has a good supply of stock and items that I need . The over all store is very good. What my problem is with the front end help that acts as greeters. This morning I went in to shop for several items and the women who was doing the greeting saw that I was checking items out on two different orders. She aggressively went through my shopping cart and moved my own bag looking for items and told me I have to ring all the items at once. I wanted two separate receipts and that is the reason I was doing this. I told the women I have been shopping for a long time and did not need aggressive help telling me how to shop. I think these people need more training on how to deal with customers. Also when I ask some of them for something in stock some of them don't speak English that well so they send you to the wrong section of the store. (Once I was sent twice to the shaving cream when I asked for electric razors). This store is a very good CVS. The management just has to train the font end help better. John read more

I have rarely had an experience so bad that I feel the need to warn other people away from the store. I have had multiple below-standard experiences with this pharmacy staff, but last night was the final straw. I submitted a refill request through my online account to be ready for pick up at 6:00 pm. I received an email confirmation of my order which specifically stated it would be ready at 6:00 pm. I arrive at the store at 7:00 pm and there are about 8 people in front of my at the pharmacy line. The woman checking people out was clearly in no hurry to speed up the process, and the other younger man behind the counter was taking his time putting prescriptions from the "waiting box" into the alphabetical boxes. I heard the pharmacist ask him to check people out, and he said "I don't feel like it." The pharmacist then requested not once, but twice, for another employee to come to the pharmacy, but no one else arrived. This all while I wait for 30 minutes to get to the front of this line to pick up a single prescription. When I finally get to the front, I have to spell my name several times for the woman at the register before she finally types in in correctly, and then she informs me they have nothing for me. I tried to explain that I had submitted the request and that I had the email confirmation, but she would not look at me and said go to drop off and began helping the next customer. No apologies for the mistake. Nothing. Then at the drop off counter, the woman again tells me I did not submit a request and if I did, it must have been to the wrong pharmacy. She refused to look at the email confirmation or in anyway acknowledge that it was their mistake and their system that failed. She then tried to submit the prescription for refill, despite the fact that I clearly said the one hour wait was unacceptable and I would be taking my prescriptions elsewhere. When I again insisted that a one hour wait time was unacceptable, particularly since I had requested the medication be ready at 6:00 pm and it was now past 7:30 pm, the woman looked at me like I had three heads. I understand working in a busy pharmacy across from the bus stop, but if that's the case, the management should ensure they hire competent staff capable of handling the business. The staff here is clearly incapable of managing the volume of prescriptions being filled. I went to the CVS Pharmacy on Watertown Street and not only were they polite and helpful, but they filled my prescription within ten minutes. The woman who took my drop off and checked me out was even apologetic about my experience in Watertown Square and rushed the order to refill my prescription due to the inconvenience. I will be transferring all of my prescriptions and never setting foot in the Watertown Square CVS again. read more

I am 56 years old and have been on blood pressure medication for over 12 years. Last week I went to refill my medication at Watertown SQ where my doctor send my prescription all the time. The pharmacist on charge at that evening was Mr. Hein Huynh. He told me that my medication has been already been field and. I was trying to tell him that I have not the medication and if possible you give me a couple till next day so I can call me doctor and find out what happened. He told me NO just leave and I can not give you any. Me and a couple of my friends have had a very bad experience with Mr. Huynh and not only he always seems angry and try to boss every one around but also very insensitive to all customers who most of them are his parents age. I have had some good service in CVS but employees like him are a bad impression for the whole business specially elderly people living in the neighborhood.
