Fast forward to today, 12/30/24. Called at 10:00AM and confirmed that the medication was ready for pickup. Nope! Still only have half. They did not place the order yet for the other half, but stated that they could do so if I wanted them to? Definitely want them to, which is why I asked them to 2 weeks ago. My husband dropped off our dog's prescription for Simparica Trio on his lunch today 12/30/24 at noon. Got a text at 12:34PM that it was ready for pickup. Husband went to pick it up at 5PM after work, pharmacist states that it's not ready for pick up and that it's gonna be a bit for them to fill it. He asks to pick up the half our cat's prescription that we were told was ready and the pharmacist states that "these flea meds don't last long on the shelves" and we have to wait until Friday for a new shipment to come in. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a medication is filled for a patient it should be labeled and set aside for them, correct? Not given away to another customer. Especially if a customer is informed that the medication is ready for pickup. Will absolutely not be using this pharmacy again unless some excellent customer service comes from this review. $286 worth of purchase definitely deserves better customer service than this. Our time has been thoroughly wasted and our cat is behind on prevention now.

After determining that the medication was not in stock, he insisted on checking availability at the warehouse to see if it could be brought in on a shipment by tomorrow. They said I should call around to different pharmacies because the medication was not common. I spent around 2 hours calling 9 pharmacies, both regular and compounding. Most didn't know what it was, didn't have it and couldn't order it for me. One told me what I was asking was impossible. Another told me I needed to call the veterinarian and ask them to prescribe something else (which I did but was told there was no substitute). Finally I called Kirkland Compounding Pharmacy and Natalie was the first pharmacist who knew the medication without me having to spell it and said, "I can help you with that." When she heard the dosage, she immediately asked how big my dog was, and then recommended splitting the dosage between 2 capsules because one large capsule would create a choking hazard for a dog his size. She also had a lot of knowledge in general about the medication and its availability. I emailed her a photo of the prescription and she called me back shortly to finalize what I needed. She even stayed after hours to fill my order because she knew the medication was important for my dog's health and wanted me to have it first thing in the morning. I've used other compounding pharmacies in the past who were all fine, but without a doubt I will now go to Kirkland Compounding Pharmacy first. Natalie is so knowledgeable and caring!

For a long time, it seemed he was the only employee serving customers, so I never dealt with anyone but him. He's SO kind and helpful. It doesn't seem like he's around as much lately, though. 2) There was a brief period when we had a flawless system, where I would call to manually request refills of the meds that needed manual refill requests, and then they would all be ready for pickup when I was home for my one day off before hitting the road again, or else I would send a family member to pick them up for me. It was perfect. But about a year and a half ago (!!!), their phone line *seemed* to stop working. It just rings and rings, and then eventually lets you into the back end system to enter your code. No way to leave a message or request a refill. The first time this happened, I called the store's main line and had them run a message back to the pharmacy. This did no good at all. No one called me back, and my refill request was not fulfilled. So I could no longer request refills from the road, and would have to have a family member go in person and wait in line to manually do it, and then either wait around for it to be ready, or come back for it another day. That is a lot to ask of someone else to do for you on a regular basis. When I next came in, I mentioned the phone lines, and was told they had heard that there was an issue, but they didn't know what it was. That conversation was more than a year ago. I am now home full time, but due to a mobility disability that makes it really difficult and painful to walk into the store just to request a refill. I still try to call, but have only reached a live person like 4 times since this phone issue started a year and a half ago. More than 2 weeks ago, I had been calling on and off all day without anyone answering. Finally, in the last few minutes before they closed, I called 3 times in a row. With one minute to spare, on the third try, someone answered the phone. He did not identify himself, and he was SO rude. But he took my refill request. Since the medication has a nationwide shortage, he put me on hold to see if they had it, then returned and told me he could and would fill it. He did not. And since then, they still have not filled it. I call on and off every day, and no one ever answers. So I crawled down here today. There is a line that I knew I physically could not have handled standing in. Since I only have a question, I have already stood in line multiple times just to ask this simple question they could answer for me on the phone, and because I'm freaking disabled, I approached the disabled window. The guy working today (I don't know/recognize him. He's not Sam or TJ. It is Sunday, if that helps) is very rude, and is blatantly ignoring me. He had come over to the window next to mine twice to help others who approached, but then would just look pointedly at me and walk away. Because of severe pain, I finally sat in the chair provided at the handicap window, and I wrote this review. So the time it took me to chicken peck this whole thing out on my phone is how long I have been ignored at the handicap window, and that is after I sat down after several minutes of standing and being intentionally disregarded. How is any of this acceptable?! It just isn't. I'm pretty sure accessibility is a legal issue, and they are not accessible.

Mind you, I have been to SEVERAL pharmacies in the area--usually grocery stores (several Safeways, Fred Meyer, QFC, Costco, Walgreens--you name it) and average spending at LEAST a half hour in line in a severely understaffed pharmacy with a single stressed out pharmacist juggling multiple tasks. I got none of these stressy vibes at Ostroms. The shop was super cute too and I will definitely find something here next time I need to purchase a gift. The only thing that sucked was getting in and out of the parking lot during rush hour-ish time. That was a nightmare but not Ostroms fault by any means! I went on their site to register and request that my prescription be transferred to Alto, which took a couple of days. After the transfer process was complete, I requested the prescription refill. They offer free prescription delivery via courier, but I opted to pick it up at their Bellevue pharmacy location. It is located inside Plaza 520. There are numerous buildings in this business center, so you should take down the address or look on a map app to find the location. The pharmacy interior is pretty basic. There is just a front desk and what seems to be some prescription bins for couriers to gather prescriptions for delivery on the left. Pickup was quick. I just gave my name and the staff member brought my prescription out which included a couple of free sea salt caramels inside the bag. Based on the prescription savings and the delivery options available, I would recommend Alto.

I also wish they had offered a recommendation for something available. I do see that my insurance was billed for a medication I never received as well.
