Its very stressful when you need to replace a windshield but Ryan made this process easy. Having an audi q5 he warned me about the lane assist sensor being triggered after the replacement. And with my luck it came on. He took my car back and spent hours recalibrating the sensor instead of just going straight to get a very expensive factory windshield, saving me a lot of money and time. Have an old 2003 325i bmw that needed a new windshield. RDA is close and had good work done by Ryan in the past. Friendly guy. Used the Yelp quote app to get quotes from several shops. Everyone quoted around $250 plus the moulding for another $55. Ryan's quote was $245 plus $55. Not cheap. Ryan says he uses the best parts. No reason to doubt him. Ryan finished replacing my windshield in a couple hours. So far so good. This is the third car Ryan has worked on for me. The truck and camry came out fine. The BMW not so good. Picked up my car and everything looked good. Paid my bill and gave Ryan a $20 tip. A couple days later I removed the masking tape Ryan placed on the windshield. Standard practice. Took a good look at Ryan's work and saw a problem. Ryan had not centered the windshield perfectly. It was off alot. It was too far to the left. The moulding on this side in the upper corner was not flush with the body. It looks terrible. Obviously there was not enough room to properly seat the moulding as was done on the right side. The moulding across the top of the windshield was not seated properly allowing water and dirt to get underneath it leading to a possible rust problem. Very poor workmanship. I returned to the shop and spoke to Ryan. Showed him the problem. All I wanted from him was to take responsibility for the poor work. No excuses. He did not. He got mad and walked away. No apology. Nothing. Here is the really bad part. I suspect Ryan knew when he was doing the install that he screwed up. But it was too late to fix. The glue had started to cure. He decided to let it go. The customer won't notice and I won't tell him. And he didn't. When we were admiring his work he never mentioned the problem. Let's talk money for a minute. Previously when I had my Camry windshield replaced by Ryan he said it would be $225. Good deal. When I went to pay with my credit card he said there was an additional tax on cards. He was trying to collect the credit card fee that merchants have to pay. Not a tax. It's a fee. Normally there is a posted sign stating a credit card fee is collected and there is a cash discount. No sign. When I brought this to Ryan's attention he backed down. Smiled and said no problem. I didn't pay the fee.. This time with the BMW he quoted me $245. With the moulding added in, $55, the total should have been $300. He adjusts the labor cost to get the total to match his quote after parts and taxes are added in. This time the total was more than $300. I asked why. He replied the price was $249. I said no it's $245. He acted like he would do me a favor and drop the price to $245. I paid with cash to help him out. So either he is forgetful or something else is going on. I took my car to another shop to get a second opinion. He said it wasn't a serious problem. Mainly aesthetic. Conclusion. Probably a one off. Plenty of good reviews including one of mine from the truck. What this experience does show is a dishonest self serving tendency in certain situations Their reply starts out ok but quickly turns angry and accusatory blaming me for them not honoring their labor guarantee. Do the work yourself if you are so smart. If you had told us you are not happy we would have redone the work no cost to you. That's exactly what I did. My first words to Ryan, I am not happy. They are calling this a bad attitude. Go away. Never come back. Confrontations can be difficult. This one went terribly wrong. We both loose. I am stuck with a defective windshield and they loose my future business and the business of others who will read this review and go elsewhere. read more
