Stay Away from Cycle Mart - Untrustworthy and Shady I wish I had trusted the negative Google reviews before taking my bike to Cycle Mart. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, filled with lies, poor workmanship, and shady business practices. At the beginning of November, I visited the shop to address a problem with my bike's suspension. I purchased a shock pump, which turned out to be faulty. When I attempted to return it, the owner refused to issue a refund, claiming he would "test the pump" while servicing my bike. At the same time, he confidently assured me that fixing my suspension lockout remote would be easy. He promised the repair would take a couple of days--two days turned into two weeks. During those two weeks, I called multiple times, only to hear a variety of excuses about why my bike wasn't ready. When I finally picked it up, I asked to test the suspension lever before leaving, but the owner hastily stopped me, raising red flags. He also informed me that instead of refunding the shock pump, he gave me store credit toward the bike service--without my consent. If I wanted the pump, I'd have to pay for it again. He refused to provide an itemized receipt of the services, which was highly suspicious. After paying and taking the bike to the trail, I discovered the tune-up was terrible. The gears shifted poorly, slipped, or didn't shift at all. I had to pay an onsite mechanic to fix the bike. To make matters worse, the suspension remote lever stopped working shortly after. I returned to Cycle Mart, where the owner claimed the "adhesive" he used to fix the lever had failed. Adhesive! Instead of properly repairing my bike, he glued it back together. He assured me he would replace the part and have the bike ready by the end of the week. That week came and went with no update. When I called, he admitted he hadn't even ordered the part. After several more weeks of delays and excuses, I finally got my bike back, only to find that the replacement part wasn't compatible. The suspension lockout system--a key feature of my bike--was now permanently disabled. Additionally, the owner performed unauthorized repairs, replacing cables and wiring without notifying me, and charged me for five hours of labor I never approved. After spending $430 and waiting over five weeks, my bike was still not fixed. A reputable mechanic later informed me that Cycle Mart had botched the repair and could've easily solved the problem by ordering the correct part from the start. To make matters worse, the owner blatantly lied to me on multiple occasions, was evasive about receipts, overcharged me, and treated me with disrespect. Even after promising to fix the issue properly (in front of another customer to save face), I never heard from him again. Future customers, beware! This shop is shady, dishonest, and lacks the expertise to perform even basic repairs. Take your bike elsewhere. I regret every penny I spent here and hope others avoid making the same mistake. read more

Just like all the other reviews I've read about Cycle Mart, this place is horrible! Poor customer service, foul language, and dishonest. Also customers that picked up their bikes after service were still not functioning. Mack Cycle is no better. Just look at the reviews for both places. Lousy service, told us the bike needed something extra when it was fine before, they told us in the shop it would be a certain amount to fix the axle and put 2 new wheels that I brought in. The day it was supposed to be fixed, I CALLED THEM and they told me it was going to be way more because of labor when they put the part in without telling us and increasing the price. Without telling the client this shop ordered a new piece and put it in and when we get there they expect us to pay way more than agreed without giving us a warning or a heads up. This shop robbed us and will rob you right in front of your face with no shame, the main guy was super rude even when we were talking calm. I don't recommend this shop to anyone unless you feel like getting scammed. read more

I ask for innertube changed. I was stranded on US1 one and 152nd St. He told me he had a lot going on too busy to attend me. I asked him it was urgent, but I needed to get it fixed because I live too far then he told me to come in to see what he can do for me if he could squeeze me in as soon as I got there, he was outside hanging out then he attended me as soon as I got there, I asked for a price he didn't tell me the price of the fix I didn't because I needed it to be fixed right away, but he fixed it. The following day innertube was again on a flat. I took the tube off myself, apparently the rim in the inside had six holes that was the cause of the flat but I found it strange that I kept getting the flats inside with the innertube on the rim, not the outside so I know he made dried those little tiny holes on the rim to keep getting a flat on my tire and by the way he charged me $65 when I went to a bike shop in the corner of my house and got charged $25 for something he did not do right so basically he stole my money read more

I decided to try this bike shop to purchase a new bike rack and have my wife's bike serviced. My wife had used the store much earlier to purchase bikes for her children a decade ago, although I had read some of the reviews that said the interface with the owner was not great,I do not judge a book by its cover I found Dino to be knowledgeable. provide excellent service and always available if I had a problem. In fact, he said never hesitate to come back if I needed some help with the rack installation which he did for me at the store when I purchased. The service he did on my wife's bike was superior than some of the other name cycle shops we have frequented. His prices were fair. I will be using the shop in the future for my bicycle needs. read more

I've been going to cycle mart (family-owned) since 1976. Sounds like the beginning of a positive testimonial? Guess again: I recently changed my bicycle's tires and tubes only because the guy there said my bike had the wrong ones. In the next six weeks of normal street-riding I got 3 flat tires. All were from small things that burrowed their way through the new tires' contact patch straight into the inner tube. With the previous "wrong" tires, I'd had one flat in 7 years of riding. Now I'd had 3 in about 5 weeks. The tires he sold me are thin at the contact surface, and have ridges that pick up very small shards of glass. After fixing the third flat, I went back in to explain/complain about what I was experiencing, to the same guy who'd changed the tires. He said that bikes always get flats. When I told him that he'd recommended those tires to replace ones that were thick and almost never went flat, he said that the tires he'd just sold me were cheap and if I wanted to spend more money I'd have better tires that went flat less. I told him I bought those tires on his recommendation, to which he said he didn't remember me or that job. Then he told me I also had cheap inner-tubes - strange since he "didn't remember" and the inner tubes being inside the tires weren't visible - and that I should buy more expensive ones (from him, the guy who's trash-talking his own product now that I've bought them on his recommendation?) So, it became clear that (1) he wasn't going to offer any solution other than me accepting being treated like an idiot or spending more money, (2) he didn't care about me as a repeat customer and was blaming me for choosing his shop's cheap products, and finally (3) it was clear that he'd pawned off some crummy inventory on me (a customer going back 4 decades) to begin with, and had NO INTENTION of making it right. Here's what's also clear: After 4+ decades of supporting this local family business, I'm NEVER going back there, and I'm telling all my friends to stay away. Wouldn't recommend to anyone sent my bike in to get a tune which They charge 60 for and ended up getting a call letting me know my break fluid was dead and my back tire went flat. So my charge went to 140 which was fine if their were that many problems with my bike, anyways I get my bike back and turns out my back break doesn't work and my gears are still skipping oh and to add insult to injury my bikes chain was super dry. DO NOT GO HERE!! I recently went here to pick up a few things for my husband and had a HORRIBLE experience. The owner talked down to me and treated me like an idiot. His customer service skills are incredibly lacking. I bought a tire, 2 tubes, and a water bottle for $80 (a little over-priced I'd say). Later that day, my husband was installing one of the tubes and before even tightening it down, it cracked around the stem, probably because it had dried out siiting on the shelf too long. When my husband tried to exchange it, the shop owner was really rude and basically said it was my husband's fault and accused him of wanting something for free. It's hard to take biking opinions from a overweight man who looks like he's never even been on a bike. We will now be taking our business to Elite Bike Shop just north on US 1 or Mack's Bike Shop a little further north. read more

I thought I'd check this place out since it's in my parents' neighborhood. I saw a Nirve bike that wasn't totally hideous and under $400. I asked the retail lady who wandered over to see if I needed any help if I could take it out for a test ride. I've never ridden a Nirve bike or a cruiser bike w/ pedal brakes, so I had no idea if it would be a comfortable ride for me or if the pedal brakes would cause me to topple over. Now, the last time I bought a bike, it was @ Performance Bikes in North Carolina. They tried to convince me to buy a medium bike for whatever reason (I think because it was RIGHT THERE, and they didn't feel like digging through inventory to find the smaller size), but when I got on it the tips of my toes barely touched the ground and I felt really uncomfortable. So I got them to go in the back and get the smaller version, and I was happy and comfortable. They let me test ride it, it was smooth, and I was willing to plonk down $400 for a brand new bike. Unfortunately, that bike is stuck in my apartment a few states over, and I'm stuck in Miami until March thanks to grand jury duty, and I need a new bike. But I'm not buying a bike here. When the lady told me their insurance doesn't cover test rides, I asked what their return policy was. They don't have one. Doesn't that strike you as weird? When I said I wasn't comfortable spending hundreds of dollars on something that might not be comfortable for me to ride, this lady had the gall to say, "Well, this German JUST bought two bikes without test riding them." Um, good for him???? Maybe he's an expert cyclist and has experience riding those bikes??? Maybe he's super rich and can afford to throw money away willy nilly? Honestly, I get weird vibes from some of the other people who work there too. I think I'm willing to spend a hundred or so extra at a bike shop that has customer service. read more

Hey Dino, thanks for ruining my hamstrings. I am so sorry I bought a bike from these idiots. I bought a tri bike in April. I was told to come in for a fitting. Dino did his adjustments. Off I went. Within a week the bike had chip in the paint. I called to see what I can do, he tells me will call back and nevèr did. Then I am training for my triathlon and then my hamstrings are starting to get strained. To the point that I was going to quit. I brought my bike to a shop that caters to triathletes and the tech there saw my problem. The bike was adjusted all wrong, my seat was wrong, my arrows were wrong. Once all of this was corrected I was able to ride without discomfort. Mu hamstrings are healing up now. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CYCLE MART. read more

My wife and I stopped by to look at bikes this week, since we are in the market for two hybrids. By the time we looked at the bikes on the floor, the guy made 3 chauvinistic comments to my wife right in front of me. "Do you work at hooters?" then "you can come into the shop anytime, your husband, not so much" and "with those long legs I would have to measure them myself to determine the right size of bike". It was this last comment that had us looking at each other in amazement. We then left the place while the guy was still talking about the dumb US labor unions and foreign production. There were two guys on the floor when we were there. We are not referring to the gentle giant that looks like he was just released from prison. We are referring to the guy that looks like Danny Devito's bigger and less fortunate looking brother. Was he knowledgeable? Yes. A good listener? No. A real class A butthole? Absolutely. I guess this kind of old school behavior is what happens when someone has a terrible physique, and has been turned down by anything female because of his bad attitude toward women. He should take his own advice and get on a bike - and then take a long ride on a short pier. You are going to experts that will tell you if they have what you are looking for and if they don't, they'll order it or tell you where you can get it. Since my dad found this place (decades ago) every bike our family bought was from here. It's a family place, owned and operated by a dad and sun since it opened. They sell, service and repair bikes. But what they really do is care about their customers. When my brother got into BMX, and was getting real good, they showed up to some of the races and even offered to sponsor him. Do not shop here! Please take your business elsewhere. The owner of the shop is an older Eastern European man that treats people like dirt! I have no idea how these guys are still in business. I took my sons bike to get repaired. It has a flat back tire, I wanted to change the chain bc it was rusted and his back brakes were not working. When I arrived I explained to the owner what was wrong with the bike. He wrote me up an estimate in the back of a ticket and gave me the other half. He told me it would be ready in about 5 days. That was on a Saturday. I called on Friday no answer, Saturday no answer, Monday no answer. Finally on Tuesday he picks up the phone. I told him I'd been calling and no one picks up the phone. He said he was too busy to pick up the phone. So I gave him my ticket number and he puts me on hold. Finally comes back and says the bikes not ready and that he will call me when it is and hangs up. Finally on Thursday, I was leaving on a trip with my family that day, I called and he said the bike was ready, to come and pick it up. Here's where it got really interesting. I don't understand how these people are still in business!!! I walk in the shop and there is a lady explaining to him about her seat and how it's broken and he tells her he's not interested in her story just being your bike to me. Who treats someone like that? Then I give him my ticket and he sends this poor girl that he treats like a dog to go fetch my bike. His estimate when I dropped the bike off was $60. The bike is a cheap bike. It cost us brand new $120. When he gave me the estimate I almost didn't drop it off bc the repair was half the cost of the bike. Now he hands me a bill for $105. I tell him what is this bill? I flipped around the paper he had and showed him the original estimate of $60. He then tells me that he found some additional things with the bike so he fixed them. My repair went up 70% and he didn't even call me to hacer it approved... who does that? At this point I'm thinking I'm on a hidden cámara show bc this doesn't happen. Business value their paying customers. So I ask why he didn't call me and he tells me that he can't call every customer every time he finds a screw wrong with the bike. I proceeded to tell him that he just lost a customer and he said he didn't give a S@$T!!! That he's been there for 60 years and they didn't make people like him anymore.... yeah, thank God for that! The old man that was working the counter today (4:30pm) ripped the phone out of my 16 year old sons had because he did not like the fact that the truth was told that the old man has lack of knowledge of parts. then kicks my son out of the store and attempts to grab my sons bike as he is kicking him out. Cycle Mart of Miami... I totally agree with all the other 1 star reviews of this place. The 5 star review must've been placed by a worker there or mistaken for a different place. First off, walking into this place, a dreadful feeling came over me as I see 3 overweight employees. You own/work at a bike shop, I'm not saying you should have the body of Lance Armstrong, but it doesn't hurt to show your customers you're somewhat fit and also enjoy riding bikes outside your job. I was in dire need of a brake adjustment/fix and this was the closest shop. Forget about friendly customer service. The employees are yelling back and forth to each other with no regard for any of the customers in the store. I bring my bike to the back and the "Ron Jeremy" looking guy that fixes bikes looks at it and says all I need is a brake adjustment, but you'll have to leave it here for a few hours. I should have it done by 6 pm. No problem, I can find things to do until then. 6 rolls around and I make my way back to the store to find out my bikes still hasn't been worked on and it's been about 4 hours. Ron tells me to come back at 7. No problem. I leave and not even 15 minutes later, I get a call back telling me it's fixed. As I return to pick the bike back up, I was curious to what the problem was because it took less than 15 minutes to fix. I don't know what the guys problem was, but he wouldn't go into specifics on how to fix it, like it was some secret. REALLY?! I let it go and begin to pay for the adjustment to find out it came out to 16 bucks. REALLY?! For a 15 minute fix? I bite the bullet and pay....at least the bike is fixed and I know never to come back here. DONE? Nope, as I'm riding my bike the next day the problem returns. So I guess their fix was temporary. Take your business elsewhere!!! There are plenty of other shops in the area which will value you as a customer. I dont know what the other reviewer thinks is an "expert", but i can tell you i didn't find one there. I completely support Lizzy B's review. You should always be cautious to walk into a small shop which is completely packed with inventory and has no other customers inside on a clear weekend day. Sketchy. The staff claim to "know about bikes", but i wouldnt trust someone who doesnt walk the walk. This staff obviously doesnt ride on a regular basis, if ever. The owner also doesn't speak to women very respectfully, as he treated my wife like an idiot when she went in by herself to make a purchase. I went in there to return the tube my wife had purchased for me a couple of days prior which split at the stem during inflation, before i screwed the nut down. I have been riding for 30 of my 36 years on this earth, and am a few steps above your average recreational cyclist, and therefor i know my gear. The owner's first statement was that i tightened the nut too much resulting in pull-through. I told him i hadnt screwed the nut on yet and he still would not listen. I have made the mistake of overtightening before and learned my lesson the first time. Further, i have been unfortunate enough to purchase a dried-out tube which sat on a shelf too long and either split at the stem, or cracked at the top of the the valve. He stated i could buy a new tube or wait for him to ship the tube back to the factory and have Bontrager decide if i should have it replaced. This is for a run-of the mill 29x1.9 tube, and he wants a factory opinion. He vehemently opposed my side of the cause and displayed absolutely zero customer service skills. When i suggested the manufacturer would absorb the cost of replacement due to a defect, he accused me of wanting "stuff for free" and "you want 'me' to pay for this". I base my opinion about businesses on their attention to customers concerning the simple things, and this was a really simple thing. If anything, to ensure return business, sucking-up the 2 dollar loss , but gaining a loyal customer is probably going to be worth it in the long run, especially considering i am thinking about buying another bike. The fat rude danny devito lookalike is unfit for any type of human contact. He wrongly sold my mother, a vulnerable old lady, the wrong thing for my bike. She went in just for the tires to be changed and he ended selling her rims and tires that were completely unnecessary and stealing my original carbon fiber rims. When I went back to claim my original rims he said he only changed the spokes and those where the original rims. I had to get a little vicious in order to get my point across, he rudely told me to shut up in front of the costumers until the older man went in the back to get the rims. They claimed the carbon fiber rims weren't any good and they were going to recycle it. He is a thief and unreliable. Until fat Danny devito leaves that store it's not a good idea to take your bike there at all. read more

STAY FAR AWAY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT, you will spend more, get less and be treated like a low life in the process. Just got my bike back after Dino attempted to fix it. He had the bike for one month. Thank god, after an extensive argument where he denied and lied about the damage he caused, I got my money back. The only problem with this is now according to dingo the frame is damaged and I need warranty work that he just happened to not notice before I spent the $250.00 to replace the chain ring, axel, bearings, and chain. I blame myself, I was warned about cycle mart from other riders and previously I had to return my mountain bike 3x before they got it right! Don't make my mistake and stop in because it's close to you home. Ps. Just to drive my point in further of how bad and how true all these reviews are...this is the second review I have written in my entire life. 11/4/15 Took the bike to bike masters shop, they told me the damage was indeed from cycle mart. 2 weeks later I have a new frame, unfortunately I had to pay to have the bike rebuilt on the frame. Okay, so yeah, the staff can be a little, um, brusque but I find them entertaining. It's better if you don't take it personally. They really have a great shop and good prices on bikes. Sometimes, they will find you an older model that is much cheaper, but they don't try to sell it full price as a brand new bike. Also, we have been in here quite a few times when we've gotten flat tires on the road, and they will repair them immediately. Other repairs are reasonable and quick, and since it's a family-owned business, they work far longer than the stated hours. read more

Our experience was great. We went to check out some Bike helmets thinking that we would later buy them online and came out with two real nice helmets at a reasonable price. Dino was great. We must have tried over 15-20 helmets until we found our perfect fit. Great selection to pick from. They even went online for us to check out availability of some colors/ models that weren't available at the store. Customer service was excellent. We made a bit of a mess of their store by continuing to ask to try one helmet after another during the hour or so that we spent there. Based on our experience I would highly recommend. read more

SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK! What a disappointment. My experience is as follows: I went in specifically to get my back tire trued and for someone to look at a noise in the crank. I am quoted for the truing at $20- a little high, since Elite Cycles quoted me $15. I get a call to pick it up the next afternoon. They have done so many other things to the bike and have managed to true the tire, but haven't looked at the crank noise. I wait for them to look at the crank noise and they replace a bolt. The bill is $63! They have replaced so many bells and whistles that I have not asked them to- brake wires, brake wire tubing, wheel tube, and then some. Two days later, I go to ride my bike to work, and the back tire (wherein they replaced the tube) is as flat as a pancake. I go back down to the shop after work and they replace the tube. I ask the man who replaced the tube (I suspect the owner) if he can break down the bill with me. On his way over to look for the bill, he is already huffing and puffing about him not understanding why I would need to look at it, as if he had wrongly charged me for something. We are going through the bill and I am asking him why he replaced things that I did not ask to replace. He tells me that he can not call everyone for every little thing. We read the reviews but went anyway because it was close to the house. Guy behind the counter refused to let us try out the bike, we had to buy it or get out. Took 25 minutes as they tightened it up during which time my daughter (24) was subjected to relentless harassment from the jerk behind the counter (at least 45). Let me give you my number, come back after hours, not just once but CONTINUOUSLY for the entire 25 minutes. I hate to be mean but he's a complete troll.
