This bike shop is pretty far from where I live but I was road riding in the area & had this as part of my route. Initial impression was great as I was welcomed inside & offered a bike stand to use as I walked around. This store is sensory overload in a good way. So many products to choose from in MTB, road & even some triathlon items. I noticed they had a lot of Giant brand items/bikes & asked if they had a stem I was looking for. 20 minutes later & I was riding down the road, new stem installed & VERY happy with my visit. The local red & blue Giant retailer constantly fails to reach this level of service no matter how many locations I've visited. Pretty much every item is 7-10 days out. Iwent in to buy my first pair of road shoes, which I didn't have the foggest idea on how to use them . The inventory here is amazing. I got a wonderful deal on a 7-speed Electra cruiser. My salesman Gus was trying very hard to get me the best deal for my money and he did a wonderful job. Wow, where do I begin? When you enter through the sliding doors you're instantaneously overwhelmed by the beauty of the bikes they have on display. Everybody was nice Gustavo, Valeria and Ramiro. They really know what they're doing and the guys in the back, building and repairing the bikes really know what they're doing too. Everything seems well organized and executed without a hitch. Owner is rude felt very unwelcome like michael stated in previous review almost like he doesnt care if you buy or not. Very expensive items highly priced. I feel bad for the bike techs which are truly very cool. Pretty sure they are gonna get more pricey now with bigger location they are moving into,to make up for cost. Went to Cycle World to repair an inner tube the attendant took the tire open that up put a new tube and I was in and out of there and two minutes it took a lot longer for cashier 2 charge me why I don't know because he wasn't doing anything but overall I was out of there in 10 minutes read more

I recently purchased a hybrid bike from Cycle World and would like to thank Ramiro for patiently finding the right fit for me. We tried three different size bikes of the same model and made seat and stem adjustments until the fitting was perfect. No other bicycle store took the time to make sure I was comfortable, they even put together a bicycle from crate and ordered another to make sure the fit was right. I went here for the first time today, because I got a flat, and this was the closest bike shop to me. I was a little nervous, and thought I was going to over-pay, because the shop seemed so "high end." They assisted me as soon as I walked in and had me out the door in 5 minutes (or less). I was happy that I had my tube replaced fast, and I was only $20 lighter (which I felt was reasonable). Don't worry, that's not all. I was on my way back home (on my bike), and the same tire went flat again. I took it back immediately. I was a little upset, thinking I was going to have to pay again. I'm not sure if the second flat was my fault, or the mechanics fault (from the first replacement). They recognized me and my bike from the first visit, and I explained to them what happened, and how I was unsure if this was my fault or the mechanics fault. I was very pleased with the urgency (once again) to fix my bike, and even happier when they told me I won't pay for the second time, even though it could've very well been my fault! I'm very happy with my service here and very impressed with the store's upkeep. It looks fantastic inside, and everyone in the store was very nice and helpful. read more

Unfortunately, the manager failed to provide a pleasant buying experience. As an experienced athlete, knowledgeable cyclist, and local consumer, they fail to offer discounts which are common in the industry. Such as 10-15%, specifically in a holiday weekend, and to an avid local athlete. That's why companies such as Competitive Cyclist, and All3sports, continue to penetrate markets throughout the country. Local bike shops should pay closer attention to their local athletes, and local consumers. I will never buy here again. Cycle World was very shortsighted on my transaction. read more

Just bought a Cervelo S5 for my wife. We showed up at 6:00pm on Saturday evening and Calvin listened to her and quickly confirmed that the S5 was our best choice. From there Robert took over to make sure the bike fit her properly. This took a while as my wife is an experienced rider and knows what works for her. At one point there were 4 bike experts working on making it right. We left the store around 8:30pm a good hour after closing time and no one complained or tried to hurry us out. These guys are real pros and are passionate about bikes, not sales. Not once did they try to push a product on me. They earned our respect and our business. They are knowledgable and experienced when it comes to bicycles and the riders needs. I have had all my bikes serviced by Myron and Umberto (his is retired now) , always leave it perfect. I'm sad to hear the good customer reviews on this website, because from my experience their customer service was really bad. Below I explain why I only gave 1 star. I went in to get advice on what parts to buy to fix my bike, they recommended the parts and I bought them. I got home, checked online how to install them, and found the parts were not correct for the fix I needed. So I went back to the store. It takes a while for anyone to notice you, when they did, they took my receipt and called the guy who had helped me before. He looked me up and down and seemed annoyed to be asked if he remembered me, said 'I don't know this guy' right in front of me and walked off. I decided to get them to fix the bike and just pay for the service. They said it would take them a day to get the quote for what it would cost to fix it. A week later they phoned me saying it was ready to pick up - so no choice on my part if I wanted to accept the service or not. When I got there I tried the bike, after the first pedal rotation it was clear the bike was not fixed, and I waited for 1 1/2 hours while they tried to fix it. Finally it was just about rideable, but when the wheel moved the chain grinds and it could basically break again any time. It seems the part they had replaced was poor quality, they couldn't get it to sit right on the standard bike frame, but they basically said that they didn't want to work on it anymore to make it right, it was taking too much time! And that was the end of it. I ended up still having to pay for the parts (they don't give refunds). I was very disappointed with the service, and I will definitely not come back here. read more

Buyer beware.. This is by far the worst bicycle shop in Miami.. Their return policy is horrible .. I purchased a Yakima bicycle rack for two bikes. They did not fit. I called Yakima directly and they confirmed that two mountain bikes would not fit. They explained that I needed the three bike rack to fit two mountain bike due to the width of these bikes. So I took the bike rack back to Cycle world to trade my two bike rack for a three bike rack. Oh boy, I spoke to Jean Sada at the front desk. What a douche bag. He says to me that they can't take it back. I explained what Yakima has told me but he doesn't care. They he says the dumbest thing I ever heard. He says to bring my two mountain bikes in so they can see. I respond furiously how can I bring my bikes if they dont fit on my rack that the store sold me. Buy the way, the rack came with no instructions. Wow, what an answer. So after a few more shouting sessions and a call to Yakima, he desided to exchange for the three bike rack. At this point I'm so upset that I say to him I just want my money back and I will leave. To this Jean Sada says oh no you don't. You will pay the difference and purchase the rack. Wow, now I'm being bullied. Holy shit, I've never had a store treat me in this mannor. The manager Glenn Chin never came out to address this situation. Moral of the story, watch out with Cycle world and their return policy. If you want to get treated like a piece of shit, by all means go to this place. I will never go again. And this includes all of my mountain bike friends. read more

I have had horrible problems with this store on more then one occassion. First I bought a $12 water cage that bends every time you take out the bottle (made by trek). I have to rebend the cage every time for the bottle not to fall out. The worst part is when i had an axle replaced, my bike's axle bent after about 200 miles (or 3 months of use). Granted it was only a $250 bike, so it may have been a sub par axle. The axle that it was replaced with bent on a trail that was an easy/intermediate trail in Amelia Earhart Park (in Miami) in less then 5 miles. So, I took the wheel back in to complain that it did not last but 5 miles. I was treated awful by the repair men and manager. They told me I was lying when I told them it happened on a trail, and said i was jumping it (which I don't do) and continued to tell me this the whole time I was there. The employee even criticized me saying it was cheap. So I asked why a cheap rim is still true if the axle is so great, his response was "don't ask me you jump" i continued to say "I DON'T JUMP." So I waited outside for the owner to arrive to voice my concern. After talking to the owner, I got a new axle. But, when I returned to get the wheel, I was still being harrassed by some of the workers about jumping (and this is the great part--it bent in 1/4 mile while I was riding aound my apartment complex. I guess on a small speed bump at less then 5mph when I was resetting the derailer). The use of such cheap parts is very irresponsible as broken axle could have hurt me. I guess this store will do anything for a quick buck even disregarding the safety of their customers.I have since replaced the axle MY SELF with a cro-mo axle and found that a they did not even assemble it properly the Nuts were loose, no tools needed to disassemble, and they left off a cap on the free wheel side that protects from dirt and supports the axle against the hub, No doubt hoping the axle would bend again so they could sell new parts or a new bike. the new axle has over 80 miles of harder trail riding on it and still true as ever. Well to start off this would be my first ever complaint or business reviews I have ever done, but I need to address this since my experience was an absoulty disaster with cycle world. To start off I went in for a simple repair on my mountain bike which required a rear dérailleur. It took them over 1.5 weeks to order the part and when I showed up to pick up my bike they accidentally order the wrong part and failed to call me since they spilled pizza sauce on my receipt that had my phone number on it.. This was one of the 5 different events that took place in a matter of week and half. The only reason I picked up my bike this week was simply because I called cycle world since the forgot to call me up to let me know that my bike was ready. As I walked in the store I wanted to speak to the manager which took a half hr just to see her and I respected her as a small business owner and told her how un happy I was with the service.. She basically did not care and stated " I'm a family business this happens what do u want me to do about it" I just wanted a apology thats all. As we argued back and forth about the events all she can come up with was excuses. I just wanted to leave at this point. So as I went up to the cashier the charge me full price for the wrost service. They simply did not care! If u are a fireman police man or women I urge u not to go since they do not acknowledged ur service. Ohh if u go to Mac bike or coral way bike store they would take care of u in a heart beat with excellent service.. Trust me. even bike tech for that matter.. Again I say to all who reads this review if ur considering buying a bike or repairing a bike please think twice before going to cycle world! read more

I bought a trek mountain bike here a few months ago. The shop assembled it and I waited a few weeks for the rainy season to stop so that I can take it for a spin. On Oct 12 I was finally able to go for a ride at Amelia. Little did I know that this would be my last ride for a while. It turns out that the front wheel skewer spring lock was improperly locked causing my front wheel to come loose as I was riding. Needless to say, I fell off and suffered a badly broken clavicle. I had to undergo surgery and now I have a metal plate on my chest. I've been riding close to 10 years and I've never had this happen to me. I saw the shop assemble the bike and didn't think twice about checking it. I guess to a certain extent it was my fault for not checking the bike before going out for a ride, but since the bike was brand new it never dawned on me. After a week or two after surgery I went back to this shop to inform the owner of what had occurred. It turns out that he thinks it was all my fault for not checking my bike. I explained that I didn't think it was all my fault because the bike was brand new. His staff checked the bike and couldn't determine what occurred. In the end he ended up charging me for the damaged parts and didn't even have any remorse for my accident. The owner failed to take any sort of responsibility and as a result I will never buy from this shop again!!! I'm writing this to warn others about this shop and to make sure you check your bike before you ride. Don't trust them to do the right thing. I was only expecting an apology which I never received. I don't plan on taking legal action because I believe in karma. Beware of bike shops that don't care about their customers. My bike was a 2014 trek xcaliber - $1300. Lg1 read more
