The front desk woman was busy with a customer getting her sighed up for a membership. So, another gentleman came out from the back. He had me sign a waiver, standard for any studio. And he showed me around as it was my first visit. They have bathrooms and a locker area, a water station, and a retail shop. He stated they do not want cell phones in the practice area of the studio, no problem, a lot of studios don't either. I left mine in the locker. When the teacher was ready to start, it turned out that only 1 other person besides me was taking the class. I'm great with that! Intimate classes are wonderful. The teacher informs that the studio title is because there's 6 different styles of yoga that they use. The thing about yoga is that the title indicates what the practice will be. If it's power yoga, you know it will be intense and for advanced yogis and likely with the peak pose being maybe an inversion. If you go to Yin Yoga, you expect the focus of fascia release and longer held poses with minimal activity. If it's Butti yoga you know it will basically be zumba. Etc. This was like going to a Chinese restaurant ordering from their menu and receiving Italian food instead. Puzzling. I was finally ready to relax and dive into the class, but she had us doing chair pose, and 3 legged dog. What?! The class was basically slower paced flow. I won't call it slow flow per se because she did a FEW restore poses with the utilization of props. But the time in each post was less than a minute, which is not Restore yoga. The teacher was new and nice. But the studio should not call this a restore class. I can't fault the teacher for this. They should work on changing the title so outsiders that don't practice here won't get confused or mislead. The class was also warm, which I did not expect? The studio itself was nice. There white board said there was a 50% off for 3 months for new members. That's certainly an inticing deal to those interested in power yoga, which seems to be the focus here. The stars were deducted only because the name didn't match what I received.

There is a very high turnover of instructors. Excellent instructors tend to stay for a while and then leave, while many of the newer instructors are not as good. Their classes are often too easy, instructions are not always clear, and some classes finish before the full 50 minutes. There is also a lack of consistency in the level and content of the classes. At times, it seems that instructors are teaching what they know rather than necessarily teaching Pilates. The Friday and weekend schedule has also been reduced significantly. Classes are sometimes canceled at the last minute, and Cardio Sculpt classes have been reduced to a minimum. Some instructors who have been there for a while rarely change their exercise routines, making their classes very repetitive. In contrast, the excellent instructors follow the intended structure and difficulty of the class, vary the exercises from class to class and week to week, provide clear and precise instructions, and allow an appropriate amount of stretching at the end without compromising the actual exercise time. Another issue is the lack of a constructive way for members to provide feedback. If management is genuinely interested in improving the studio, there should be an anonymous suggestion box or another easy, confidential way for members to provide both positive and negative feedback without feeling uncomfortable. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere is a definite positive, but the quality and consistency of the classes need significant improvement. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to address them.

I wish she was at the Houston location on more days than just Fridays. She is amazing and her classes are intense and fun. Great playlists as well. Joelle in reformer Pilates is also awesome! The CS4 classes are insane and so challenging! The gym is beautiful. Lots of equipment to get a great workout out in and extremely aesthetically pleasing. You can absolutely spend hours here if you don't watch out. I would give this gym a 5 but a couple things I will note that are not convenient. There are showers in the locker rooms but the large towels are outside the locker rooms. I feel that is a given in most upscale gyms is to have easy access to a simple towel to dry off with. Also, all the class studios are upstairs and there are no towels up there either. Womens locker rooms in any gym that you pay over $150 for should have tampons and sanitary napkins stocked. It's a kindness and from the at least 25 gyms I've been to, this was standard. Lastly, While I love the concept of the wipes to clean, actual spray bottles for cleanliness is absolutely necessary. There are people that really sweat like crazy on the equipment and mats and those wipes are not cutting it at all. The mats have a smell. I started bringing my own for this reason but I hate when I forget it. Class cancellation policies are rules I like to follow however, when I try to call the front desk, they quite literally never answer. I have rang the phone multiple times before and no one picks up. Maybe a few one off chances so I won't crucify the whole gym for that but it's something to be noted. Other than these couple of things, I am so happy I joined this gym. I'm having a great time coming here on a weekly basis! The online class bookings and choosing your spots is the new wave and I love it! No crazy trying to find a spot in class. Her playlist was immaculate and motivating, she had Future playing and Drake. It was a good way to motivate during a 9am class on Friday, especially after being hungover lol. Like the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it is." I agree. The management's communication (lack thereof) was jaw-dropping. We were able to work a deal with Renee, one of the awesome managers, so we can continue after the Groupon deal ended. First week into the newly paid verbal contract, which is considered valid in Texas, Dawn, one of the owners, called to inform that the deal was not valid and that they were not going to "eat the cost" since the deal was undervalued. A management staff member accepted the negotiated pricing and accepted payment for said service, yet she is calling us out implying that we were essentially "taking" sessions not paid for. After, the LOUD and heated conversation she had with my sister on the phone, which can be heard easily by anyone more than a few feet away, was very unprofessional. Why is she arguing and putting the blame on the client? Then, she informed us she would not give us a refund, SERVICES WERE NOT RENDERED, one week after the deal was made. We agreed that we would break the amount paid into weekly portions and pay that portion accordingly; she vehemently disagreed until she talked to her husband. She called a short time later after her husband agreed to offer the full refund and a week free of training. We contemplated going since the ordeal with the management made it uncomfortable but the trainers are awesome. Several days later, we went. Day 1, Boxing trainer, Vincent, was no longer an employee, so we can only work out with the other trainer, Terrence. Management did not inform that the trainer would be let go, so they agreed to bring him back so we can train with him for the week. We greatly appreciated that, especially when an employee called the evening before to ensure our schedule would remain the same as previously taken. Results: Trainers - awesome! Management - fail!

However, I drive 15 miles only to have the instructor not show up. This class is only an hour long and was supposed to start at 8:30am and there were 5 of us waiting outside until around 9am. There was no note on the door or a response from either of the 2 phone numbers posted on the front of the door. I called the main phone number only to have an answering service take my name and number and tell me that some one will return my call. One of the gentleman waiting with us mentioned that the same thing happened to the Tuesday class and the instructor was a no show and they still have not heard back from the studio as to the reason for it. Their website requires a 24 hour advance notice for any cancelation. How about extending that courtesy to us too?

It's pretty beginner friendly, and the instructors offer modifications during each workout so you never feel weird about maybe not being able to do the workout exactly like them.
