I initially took a free intro class here and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Pilates always seemed intimidating, but I found that, while it's a tough workout, it's not as scary as I thought. The sense of camaraderie in class and the challenge of improving my strength was fun! After the intro class, I continued to attend Level 1 classes to get more comfortable with the routine and the machine. My third class was with Laura, and unfortunately, it was a turning point for me. I'm aware that I'm not the fittest person in the room--strength training is new for me, and I've never shied away from acknowledging that. I run half marathons but wanted to try Pilates for overall strength, so I stick to Level 1 classes for now. During that class with Laura, she stood at my machine the entire time, correcting me in front of everyone for nearly every move. While I appreciate correction, especially for hands-on learning, it felt overwhelming and discouraging to be corrected constantly in such a public way. At the end of class, she told me I needed to focus on getting fitter and that I'd "get there" eventually. I tried to brush it off, but it definitely made me hesitant to return. A few weeks later, I joined a friend at another location--much further away--and had a completely different experience. The class was still challenging, but I felt supported and was able to keep up much better. I've even seen physical improvements, like toning in my arms and legs, which is exciting! After a 1.5-month break, I returned to the original location, only to find myself in another class with Laura. I'd forgotten why I typically avoid her classes, but this time, I was determined to show up as my strongest self. I felt confident, especially with my progress. Despite my efforts, Laura again singled me out multiple times for corrections, even when I felt I was keeping pace with the class. During a particularly tough sequence, I couldn't do many reps but pushed myself to do as much as I could. Laura came over, told me I was doing fine, and reassured me not to worry about keeping up with the others. I felt relieved. But when she turned to the other new student, she spent much more time correcting her, and then, in front of the entire class, said, "Sorry, everyone, we have some newbies here, and it's taking a while." At the end of class, Laura complimented the other new student, telling her she just needed to "listen and she'll get the hang of it." When she got to me, she said, "You'll get there, you need to get fitter." In that moment, I felt mortified. I had thought I was keeping up, doing my best, and challenging myself just like everyone else. A few of the other students even stopped me in the parking lot to tell me I did great and weren't sure why Laura said that. That's when I realized it wasn't just in my head. While I'm trying not to let her comments discourage me, I've decided I'll be attending classes elsewhere in the future. It's important to me to feel encouraged and supported in my fitness journey, not singled out in a way that leaves me feeling worse about my efforts.

Nicole's classes have been the best in the city that I've been to so far (I've tried many studios…read moreand instructors with classpass). You won't "sweat" so much but they leave me feeling so sore the next day in a good way, working muscles I didn't even know were there!! She's also great about correcting your form which I really appreciate as someone getting back into it after a long break.

A kneeling hamstring curl machine. Couple power racks. Honestly I like this place. Remember the kid who always trailed in after running the mile breathless well after all the other kids had completed their mile, many under 8 minutes in PE class? Or the kid that always got out first in dodgeball? Well, that is me. I've always been sensed that I am poor at fitness, and subsequently, I never enjoyed it either. That is until Citizen Pilates - my favorite way to work out. It truly is a class for all fitness levels as there are multiple ways to take moves. The instructors are universally friendly, and they gently course-correct but not so often that you feel discouraged. The music is upbeat, and a lot of the moves are a great workout, but many are lower intensity. That's exactly what I'm looking for! My favorite touch is when instructors provide options for taking springs. (Some days, the red or green spring is not my friend) Also, the help desk and support are always there with prompt and ready help should it be needed. Highly recommend for anyone of all fitness levels.

Apparently missing the first few minutes means you're suddenly "not warmed up," as if 5 minutes in a 50-minute class makes any real difference. No flexibility, no common sense, no regard for customers who actually made the effort to show up. Just a rigid rule with zero accountability on their end. Wasted time, wasted gas, and a terrible first impression. If this is how they treat people over something this minor, don't expect any real customer service.

While I really enjoyed the workout and how I felt after I did not appreciate the lady being pissed off the whole time. Homegirl kept aggressively yelling at me to not hold the bar and maybe I need to girl this is my first class not everyone is at the same level. She looked and acted like she was on testosterone. She's lucky I brought my neighbor and I was trying to play nice in front of her because were it just me there I would not have dealt with being talked to like that you could tell she was just an angry woman. Another thing I want to point out is it it's all abs here. Like the workout pretty much feels like you're holding a plank for one hour like they only work out the abs. Every other Pilates class I've seen or even the mat Pilates ones (I guess those aren't the real ones) I don't know they work out different muscles. But it's very core centered here so if you like that, go for it. But don't let these bishes try you that's all I'm saying hahaha. In my opinion f45 is a better work out if you're tryna hit alll the muscle groups.

Fortunately, I'm a student, so I don't tend to need the super busy morning or after work times, but I've noticed they typically only book a couple days out as well. Previously, I was the type of person who never was interested in group fitness classes and always did my own workouts. After starting law school, it became harder to dedicate an hour 3-5x a week to actually block out my studies. Here, I have no trouble focusing on the workout, as you have to in order to keep up! I've had multiple different coaches correct my form. It's definitely more frequent in the less-populated classes, but that makes sense given that they actually have more time to focus on each individual person. Also, weekends are really flexible at this studio, which fits my schedule really well. The studio manager, Lota is also incredibly friendly. He remembers my name and personally greets me every time, as do many of the coaches. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.

During these crazy times, with the gyms closed, I was worried about digression (aka back sliding). I had been going to the Y (where I worked with Mike), but they naturally closed, furloughed Mike and don't plan to reestablish their PT program till mid summer (maybe!!). I could not wait any longer. So I learned about Body 3 and have been working out there with Mike and I could not be more happy, pleased and relieved to have a new "home". They are super clean, conscientious and attentive AND competitively priced. Highly recommend.

We started out…read morewith stretches, picked up some weights and balls for balance, and moved on to using the springs, handles, and bars of the machine. Our instructor, Hailey, was energetic and friendly, demonstrating moves and checking on us as needed. There was a very low-pressure environment even for newbies, which made it fun :) The room looked pretty cramped when I walked in but once I was on the mats / machines, it didn't feel claustrophobic at all. (Although don't get the spot near the wall, because my right arm didn't have enough space to extend out during certain stretches, but not a deal breaker!) The person using the machine before me didn't wipe down very thoroughly so there was a big oily spot that was a little yucky to work out on. I didn't know there was a spray bottle to use below the machine until we were done and asked to wipe down. Having the instructors or staff do a quick visual on each machine to ensure it is (or at least looks) clean might be nice. Other classes like mat Pilates and hot sculpt / hot lift Pilates are available too ($33-44 per class). Parking is free in the lot but it fills up so you might have to sit and wait for spots. Trying Cadillac was fun-- I'm planning to return and try another class when I feel like splurging!

The heat in the room is what makes you sweat, and the formations seem like something I can do from home. If you want a challenging pilates studio, I would not recommend. The only thing great about the studio are the instructors motivations during workouts. * There is a woman / staff in the heights location who is extremely rude. I asked about the studio because I was interested, and she seemed like she did not want to help me at all. Not only that, when I got in she did not welcome me. The studio does not feel inviting or welcoming by the staff in the front desk. Majority of the front desk give you mean girl and seem like that are not happy to work there.
