CYCLEBAR - Cycling Classes Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

For those who own a Peloton and never have experienced a live, in-person class then CycleBar is the closest you'll come in Omaha to that. When you walk into CycleBar there is an extremely friendly and welcoming atmosphere, like "Nebraska Nice" written all over. You're provided shoes with clips and they help you get situated if you've never clipped into a bike and sized correctly.  As you walk into the dark workout studio the room starts to come alive. People are chatting and catching up and the instructors are actively engaged with the members. You might think that a 45-60 minute ride on a spin bike sounds boring and you would be 100% correct if that's all it was. Not the case here. I was amazed to find the amount of variation that they were able to incorporate in a ride. Tapping in and out, swaying left to right by bending your elbow,  and lifting a weighted bar (which by the way are no joke even at 4 or 6 lbs). And again, for those familiar with Peloton I would say the intesity at CycleBar resembles a Kendal O'Toole workout which is who I always chose when I wanted a "hard" workout. The difference was this was a person you could actually talk to and even make song and ride theme requests ahead of time. What I thought I signed up for was a intense cycling workout. CYCLEBAR - Cycling Classes Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I have completed 11 cycling sessions at Cyclebar West Omaha amidst my quest to try new workouts that I never have before (I was a soccer player for 15 years - I am a 31 year old mom of a 2 year old.) My list was compiled of several popular workout types (barre, pilates, boxing, yoga, etc.), but Cyclebar has been, by far, my favorite new exercise outlet, and continue to commit to. Sometimes at 5am in the morning. AND IT'S A PARTY! I write this as my endorphins are still flowing at 1:15pm from Rebecca's 5-5:45am class. Best way to start your day. I have now rode with all of the instructors that work at Cyclebar West Omaha, and each instructor brings their own energy, flare, support, and confidence to every class. If you ever need motivation, you just look at them. They are there for you for the entire ride. If you're hesitant to try Cyclebar because you've never cycled before or are afraid of the, "numbers/stats..." please don't let that stop you. You'll hear the instructors say, "If I yell out numbers, it's up to you what you do with them. You're in control." It is empowering - as competitive as you want it to be. Everyone there is competing against THEMSELVES. For me, personally, my favorite element of every class is connecting how I ride with the rhythm of the music. The music is used as a tool and a guide, and that is right up my alley. I zone out! Your first class is free! That's what brought me in...the community and the confidence I am gaining in myself is what has kept me there. I do not plan on leaving any time soon! Okay, so I'm going to be the first reviewer. First, I'm so glad Cyclebar has come to Omaha. 45 minutes of mad pedaling, up and down hills (simulated by turning the tension up) in and out of the saddle and for one song, with a 6 or 4 pound bar (get it? cycle? bar?) in your hands for a bit of an arm workout. Have you been to soulcycle? or have you seen that amy schumer bit about soulcycle? Cyclebar is less cultish and intimidating, and also cheaper (compared to what I was paying in Silicon Valley.) There's also no shady Trump donation situation as far as I can tell. Each studio is franchised and the owners of this one, Emily and Dwight are welcoming, organized and are doing a great job of learning everyone's names. The first time you go, you get a personalized note, a message on your locker and a free water bottle! You also can have a banana, a hair tie, a lip balm, a spritz of deodorant, and you don't have to pay to rent shoes. They provide you with a clean towel on your bike, and after, you get a lovely chilled towel as if you were at a japanese restaurant at the height of summer. They run I think around 30 some odd classes a week, so it's easy for even me, with my two jobs and 12 hour overnight shifts to find times to ride. The actual class is as intense as you want to make it--there is a monitor on each bike that records your performance and you get an email/report in the cyclebar app after class that tells you how you did, how many calories you burned, even what your rank in the class was. I don't understand the science of the calculations but the calories burned tend to match with my fitbit. I've had two rides where there were complications with the monitors--one ride didn't result in an email/report and one where the monitor died halfway through. But I digress, back to the intensity of the class--each instructor (cyclestar) has a different style but they all tell you when to speed up, when to stand and pedal, when to turn up the tension, etc, but you can do whatever you want. No one will know if you're slacking. I wouldn't say I'm a slacker, but I am miles behind the average cyclebar patron in terms of fitness and cool leggings but the cyclestars are accepting of everyone's diversity and are motivating without shaming. Some of them have better musical taste than others, but not everyone is as opinionated as I am about music. Toward the end of the class they'll have a race, where, if you've opted to be on the leaderboard, you can see whose working the hardest and going the fastest. What's my point? Cyclebar is fun, not as crazy or expensive as soulcycle, and even an old out of shape lady feels good about herself afterwards. Bonus points for the amenities, the variety of class times and friendly staff. Yay Cyclebar!!! read more

10/10 AWESOME EXPERIENCE from getting info on booking my first class to taking the class itself. I am from Omaha but live in Kansas City. I have been back and forth during the virtual working situation and have struggled to find any gym that would accommodate me and offer a package that would fit my circumstances. While searching for Omaha cycling studios, I called CycleBar after-hours and did not leave a message. I had struck out with so many other gyms/studios, I was close to giving up. Dwight, one of the owners, texted me the next morning saying they had a missed call from my number and asked what they could help me with. That level of service and commitment to customer experience is SO rare! Dwight let me try a class for the $10 new rider rate and offered to tailor the expiration date on a ride package for the future since I never know when/how long I will be in the area. No other gym/studio in the area has been willing to work with me like this - CycleBar West Omaha was a breath of fresh air. The music was awesome, the vibes were good, and there was a great sense of encouragement and community. I will be back! read more

Planning for bachelorette parties can be stressful and when my original workout plan fell through I didnt know what to do! Dwight at CYCLEBAR saved me by helping me plan a private class for the party and even went above and beyond to make sure we had our very own personalized playlist. The class was not only a great workout but the most fun we had all weekend. If you are hesitant to try it out, this is your sign to book your first class. In our party we had the whole spectrum of cyclers - from beginners to pregnant ladies to cycling masters and they were able to accommodate for everyone. I've been a member of CBWO before they opened their doors almost 2 years ago. I can echo all of the other reviews that talk about this being their happy place and how amazing the owners (Emily & Dwight) and their whole team are! I'm not remotely athletic and so exercise classes can be intimidating to me, but I have never felt that way here. You are in complete control of your success and workout with some much needed passion/encouragement/challenge from the instructors and the stats to track your progress (if you want to...can always opt out if not interested). I could list a million reasons why I love it, but I'll just say you have to experience it for yourself to understand (first ride is free!) I got into a rut with my regular workout and Cyclebar has been a nice addition to keep me motivated. First positive for me is the location. They are located in Village Pointe right off of Dodge and not too far from West Center. This makes for easy access. The only negative about this location is parking availability can be a struggle during premium shopping times. Second positive is how friendly the team is. When they see you walking up from the parking lot, someone comes to hold the door open and greet you. Check-in is a breeze and they have more than enough lockers for everyone to store their belongings. Third positive is minor to many, but major to me. They have an array of community toiletries in the ladies' room, including makeup wipes. I usually come after a day of work and forget to pack my own make-up wipes about 50% of the time. They also have pony-tail holders, spray deodorant, tampons and more. The fourth big positive for me is that they are always fully staffed so there is always someone there to assist if you have a question, need help setting up your bike, can't figure out how to clip in, etc. Everyone is willing to help out. The last, and most important positive is that the classes are fun, challenging, full of good music and over in the blink of an eye. If you have considered trying Cyclebar, I suggest dropping in and giving it a try! read more
