My fiancé and I just moved into the area and we were looking for bicycles. Due to the pandemic, it's nearly impossible to find one online so I was recommended Cyclesport by a friend who lives close by. We called a few times and were eventually able to get our first hybrid bikes! (Picture of mine attached) Despite all the bad that has taken place with the pandemic, you can't help but also look for small moments of good. My friend said that maybe people are more likely to rely on local shops for their bicycles now. I think if it wasn't for the shortages of bicycles we would have just ordered online -but if we ordered online from amazon, REI, or any other website, we would have never had the same type of experience as first time bike riders that we have at a local business like Cyclesport. We've mostly been working with Garrett at Cyclesport, who has been so patient and taught us much about our bikes and accessories. When we picked up our bikes, Garrett gave us the ins and outs of each feature thoroughly, despite it being 6 pm on a Friday night, which is when they close. We ended up buying lights and helmets for our bikes too and Garrett went through all the options for us, helping us choose the best ones for us based on our needs. When we purchased lights for night riding, Garrett helped attach them to the bike, showing us exactly where everything goes and how to fixate them to the bike, along with how to adjust our helmets. I know this might sound like easy stuff for an experienced bike rider, but when you're first starting, all the information on the internet and manuals can be daunting. Garrett has been a great teacher to us about our bicycles throughout the whole way, even writing out directions to a few recommended bike trails (again on a Friday night, during closing). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone starting out biking, or even experienced. If we ordered online, I don't think we would have gotten the same amount of care, customer service, and thorough teaching about our bikes and accessories that we got here. Today, as I was preparing the bike, I noticed that one nut holding the front wheel was missing so I went with my son to the store to buy one. The mechanic said that, even by looking at the nut, he was unable to determine the size and suggested to bring in the bicycle. My request to purchase one regardless of the size was declined. In normal times this shop is a go-to. But these are not normal times and if you are taking this pandemic seriously (as you should be), this is not the shop for you. Customers have to request that the staff wear a mask when they interact with you - even though masks at places of business are required by the governor. Staff without masks will walk up to you and speak to you within 2 ft., even if you are a customer wearing a mask - which should be a signal to the staff person that you are trying to protect your health and the health of others. I've known several people who have died from Covid-19, I have family members working on the front-line, and the lack of masks at this place of business astounds me. This a high risk shop you should avoid until the pandemic is under control or the business starts behaving responsibly. read more

Mike, I just wanted to tell you something that you probably already know- you have a terrific staff (you and Tracy included). As you know, I am not a frequent visitor to the shop as you are not on my beaten path (but always worth a trip!) I wanted to point out my interaction with Jeff regarding my service. He inspected the bike and quickly determined that the cables were in need of replacement. I verified that when I mentioned the frayed cable poking through the hood at the end of my last ride. He explained what would be done and the cost associated with the service. He said he would check the bottom bracket and questioned if it had ever been replaced. I didn't think so and he told me what would be involved with that as well. When the bike was ready for pick-up, he confirmed that it did indeed need a BB and took the time to show me the worn part. Some people may not be interested, but I am. I appreciated the time to show and tell me what was done and how it works. Beyond this, both Jeff and Tracy made the effort to contact Garmin on my behalf to try and assist with a runaround I have been getting with my Edge 510. I don't know how this will ultimately be resolved, but their efforts will undoubtedly get me further than if I would have continued on my own. I just bought a new road bike from Cyclesport a week ago. The people in this shop are amazingly helpful and professional. It is my first time going to shoes and clips and I didn't have any knowledge of what to buy or which bike was the best fit. I was so fortunate to have Ramon help me. He spent so much time with me and made sure the bike was properly fit for me. He helped me pick out shoes and biking clothes and even showed me how to change a flat tire! They put your bike up on a trainer and let you practice and try the shoes and clips to get comfortable with the process of getting in and out of the clips if you are a first timer. Just had to say something about a friend's visit to to test ride a bike at Cyclesport... arrived at the shop on a Saturday... saw a bike that she was very interested in buying... being a returning customer, she was told to bring in the bike she bought from them so that they could set the bike up for her... arrived Sundayto ride the bike and was told that the bike was sold... the least that could have been done in this case would have been to call her of the situation since she was a returning customer and she gave her name and info... didn't help either that her Sunday ride was cut short so she could drive to the shop for the Sunday hours... another way of handling this situation would have been to tell the other customer that someone was coming in to ride the bike and and would be notified if the bike was still available... very disappointing and no way to treat an existing customer... this reeks of used car dealer ethics... purchasing a new bike soon... no way I would buy a bike here. read more
