My girlfriend and I came in the other day both looking to get a bike without knowing anything. I wish I could remember his name but the young gentleman we worked with was so knowledgeable, honest, and patient with us. He made sure that we picked bikes that we loved and were a perfect fit. He also made sure we knew how to operate everything on the bike, he nearly ran outside as we were leaving to make sure we knew how to properly remove and reattach the front wheel. My girlfriend's bike needed an adjustment on the stem so the young gentleman and the owner Mel stayed late after closing to make sure to get the adjustment done and have us go home with our bikes the same day. What was also nice was Mel was already in his car getting ready to leave, but saw we were struggling to get the bikes in our car, so he ran out to help us. Thank you so much guys! Not proud to say this, but I used to steal bikes as a kid. I actually had one of my favorite bikes stolen one day as a kid too, so glad karma worked out. So we would take them strip all the parts, paint them and remake a new bike. I think this happens at a lot of bike shops and you get new bikes with older parts. Get where I'm going. Bought a GT Slammer nice looking bike but their service on them really bad. Been about 3 weeks now and it's about the 3rd piece on it that went loose. They don't check and tighten anything on it. The handlebars came loose while my son was riding it then the seat post started sliding down. Now my last straw, the freakin crank fell off the bike while riding. Too many safety issues from this place. Never buying from there again!!!! read more

Walked in not really knowing that much and Mel hooked us up. What I loved the most was all the reasonable prices! He even did not try to talk us into the most expensive stuff. There were computers for speed and distance that go up to 300. Mel showed us one for 50 that was everything I wanted. If you go to Walmart or target or even modells and see the limited selection and no customer service or help. You cannot modify at those places at all. This place blows all other places we looked at first. If we would have went here first, I would have saved 2 weekends. All in I walked out with a customized bike for under 475. New seat, cpu, and adjustable water bottle holder. I also got a little knapsack for under the seat. We bought a bike rack which mel showed us how to install which is another added bonus. When I upgrade to higher end I am glad I know where to go! read more

I bought a new Schwinn bike from The Original Bike Shop (as they are listed as a dealer on the Schwinn website) last week and picked it up yesterday after a couple modifications. Mel & Kevin are very personable & funny & make you feel like a valued customer. It made for a great buying experience. Before you leave the store with your new wheels, they put you and the bike on the trainer and ask if everything feels comfortable and teach you about using the gears. I'd recommend this bike shop to anyone in the market for a new bike. Note - They sell used bikes from $85 on up to professional road racing bikes costing several thousand dollars. And they even have electric bikes and the bike kits, should you decide you want to go that route. read more

Brought in my 9 year old Trek Hybrid a week ago for the first service ever. Brakes were bad and the bike was making a lot of squeaking noises. Owner told me he would take a look and let me know. Called back next day and told me the chain and cassette needed to be replaced. Quoted me the cost for the additional parts as well as the tune up. I told him to go ahead and he promised me the bike would be ready the following day. When I arrived at the store I was given a rundown of the work that was performed.
