I did a reservation 11:30am and gave all my credit card and personal information, the person responsible said it was all good and would texted me my confirmation. They texted and call me 7:30pm saying that they need to cancel because my card was declined. I called 20min after the person kept saying that they are trying to called me the entire day and that was not true, when I said that was not true and something most happened the person hang out on me. I just had one call and one text from them at 7:30pm, and soon I saw it I called back. Also they said that my credit card was declined also not true because I used just after it and it worked fine, also I called my bank and they didn't blocked any transition. I think if they were overbooked or some mistake happen they should just tell me and it would be fine, but what what they did and the whey they treat me it was really disrespectful specially with the amount of money I was willing to spend. read more

My very first experience at Cynergy Spa was absolutely flawless. Located on the second level of a beautiful Fort Green brownstone, the intoxicating scents of Cynergy grab you as soon as you walk through the door. It's all vanilla and mint, chamomile, lemongrass and a bunch of other "smell goods" that will have you floating on a cloud. Operated by a group of warm and lovely sistas, this place is tops. Myself and Yelper/friend Karen S. treated ourselves to 2 hours of pampering that included a full body massage and paraffin treatment for our hands and feet. My lovely masseuse, Kanisha, made me feel so relaxed and comfortable that I slipped into a light doze as she rubbed all of the the rust and steel out of my weary bones. The paraffin treatment was a new and slightly shocking experience for me. I have never had an entire body part submerged in hot wax EVER but my hands and tootsies felt as soft as butter in the end. I'm in love with Cynergy Spa! Granted, this is the only spa I've never been to, but at this point I'd rather not go anywhere else. The service is superb, the atmosphere is relaxing and serene, and the people who work there are always pleasant. My first experience at Cynergy was for my 25th birthday. I asked myself, "What would a sophisticated brand new New Yorker do for her 25th birthday?" Go to a spa, of course! I found out about Cynergy through a message board and decided to give it a go. Cynergy Spa is located in a beautiful brownstone, where the front room windows overlook the street it's located on. Inside, near the receptionist desk, are waiting chairs and magazines to keep you occupied until it's your time. Cynergy sells candles and other nice things across from the reception desk. There's soothing music all throughout and it definitely gets you in the mood for your experience, plus the receptionist brings you hot tea and a warm towel. When I'm there, it definitely feels like I'm the only customer because they put so much care into what they do and they give so much attention to you. It actually feels like you're the only one there because you don't see anyone else there, which is kinda cool but makes you feel a little odd at the same time. Cynergy has every service you can imagine, including facials for the face, back, and shoulders; massages from head to toe; body scrubs/polishes; and waxing for the face and body. Cynergy also has some awesome spa packages. (There's even a package specifically for men and a package for couples.). I got the Birthday Package for my 25th birthday/first spa experience, complete with champagne all day, a great lunch consisting of dessert and salad, a 60 minute facial, 60 minute aromatherapy massage (I used peppermint oil) a 20 minute rose pedal bubble bath, a hand and foot paraffin treatment, and fresh strawberries and chocolate (Yummy!). I felt like royalty all day, from the soft bathrobe to the being asked if I needed it to be even more quiet and calm than it was. My appointment was on a Monday at 12pm, and I didn't leave until well after 5. As long as I live in NYC, I want to make the Birthday Package my birthday treat. Other that the non-massage service included in the Birthday Package, I've primarily gone to Cynergy Spa for the massages. I'm trying to get into the habit of self-care, and I think massages are one of the best ways to tend to your mind and body. So far, I've had the Ancestral Aromatherapy Massage, The Urban Oasis Sports Massage, and the Hot Stone Massage. The Aromatherapy massage is wonderful because you get to choose which essential oil the masseuse will use. The Hot Stone massage is cool, especially during the colder months. Feeling the warmth of the stones as they're being massaged into your skin is so soothing. The sports massage is amazing. I asked for it due to having tendinitis in my arm and pain in my back, and within 2 days, the pain was gone! Next up on my massage list: the Back to Nature Deep Tissue Massage. I want to rotate among the massage types. One thing to note about the massages is that a few of them have options to adjust the time frame, from 55 minutes to 90 minutes. The 55 minutes has been great, but I'm getting to the point where an extra 30 minutes will make getting a massage an even greater experience. As I was leaving the spa after getting the Birthday package, the receptionist gave me a rose wished me a happy birthday, and gave me a big hug. Who would want to go to some other spa after that? Oh yeah...Cynergy's policy states that you must put down a deposit for half the price of the service you're getting, and pay the rest the day of. If you're like me and need money to build up before you splurge on something nice, put down the deposit during your first pay day of the month and book your appointment during the week of your second pay day. read more

I have some pretty painful back problems and the thought of someone touching the impacted area makes me really nervous. My previous massage experiences have almost always been painful. Came here to surprise my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and it was great! The place is beautiful if you're a fan of romantic dim lighting and good smells like I am. It is a very romantic atmosphere. The front desk area smelled great and all of the staff were friendly. I had gotten us the couples package and they started us off with a 20-25 jacuzzi which was really relaxing. After that, they gave us our 55-1hr massage. I had Maggie I believe and my boyfriend had another woman but I couldn't quite remember her name unfortunately although I asked twice lol. After the wonderful massages, they had escorted us to a room where we sat in our robes, had a glass of champagne, strawberries with chocolate fondue, and romantic music playing afterwards. We weren't kicked out or told to leave after our 2 hours were over. Everyone nicely told us to have a good night. When we walked out of there we felt brand new because we really were bent out of shape. This review is for the couples package that costs $300 and lasts 2 hours. Overall, I can recommend this place for an occasion. For the most part the experience was very enjoyable, people are courteous, and quality is good. The price is probably a little bit too high for the location. Atmosphere - 4.5 When you enter, the aroma is very relaxing. I noticed the lightening right away which is pretty dim with the orange walls giving off a relaxing vibe. The temperature in the private room was just right. The private room is pretty cool and is a real differentiator for this place. It has a jacuzzi, shower, two massage beds and smells really good. The music was very relaxing and light. The mood is set right and everything comes out pretty romantic. The only negative (-.5 star) is that you do notice that the place is a bit older. Some basic renovations would help. For example, the heating batteries look rusty and seem like they leaked recently, walls are sort of run down. It's no biggy yet, but should be addressed by the owners. Massage - 4.5 I don't remember the names of the two masseuses, but they were two pleasant lady's, courteous, and polite. This was my first professional massage ever, so don't have much to compare to. I can say that I enjoyed it and it was pretty relaxing. They rub your skin with massage oil, use various strokes, apply hot towels on your back and legs. The massage is both front and back, but they don't spend lots of time on the front. I guess i really liked it, but can't say it was a WOW. Service - 5 Their style really worked for me and my partner. They are pretty hands off. Of course every one is polite, but once you arrive they show you to the room and give you your privacy, which is exactly what we wanted. They ask you for 50% deposit when you are making an appointment, which seems a bit strange, but that's their policy. Price/Value - 3.5 I don't think this place is too overpriced as most massages cost from $100 to $150. Here you get the jacuzzi time and the champagne and strawberries with chocolate in addition to the massage. But many places offer many more amenities on the premises like steam room, pools, etc. Also, this is in Brooklyn (the on the rise BK) so i thought the price was a bit too high for the location. I was lucky enough to receive a gift certificate from my boyfriend to Cynergy spa. I'm a bit of a spa snob and am very particular about my massages and facials, but I was excited to try a local place. He purchased me "The Great Escape", the gift certificate didn't indicate what the services would be only that it's 100 minutes. I called to make an appointment and confirm what the 100 minutes include. The woman who answered seemed very unsure of what the package was. She told me it would be a 40 minute massage and 30 minute facial, but then when I told her that that doesn't add up to 100 minutes she said, oh that also include a hand scrub. I thought it was a little strange to get a 30 minute hand scrub but I figured I'd clarify when I got to the spa. I arrived 10 minutes early, the spa is very rustic and certainly seemed like a family run establishment. It's not the kind of place with sleek counters and white walls, more of a homey feel. The woman at the front desk was the same person to took my call and when I asked again what my package actually included she said a 40 minute massage, 30 minute facial and 15 minute hand scrub. Ok. So obviously the 100 minutes is incorrect. I took out my certificate again just to make sure I wasn't mistaken and in fact, it was for 100 minutes. I decided not to question it since I was already there and just hoped that the services would be worth being short changed the 15 minutes. After a cup of tea I was escorted down a gold painted hallway into the very back room, inside was two massage tables and a shower facility. I was asked to undress and lay down on one of the tables. The room was very chilly, and the decor definitely left a bit to be desired with run down tables and poorly painted walls but I figured who cares, as long as the service is good. My masseuse entered and got ready to begin, she asked if I had any injuries but didn't ask if I had any problem areas or what type of pressure I preferred. Overall the massage was good, she's definitely on the light side. So it was really more of a swedish, full body massage. I have pretty bad tension in my neck and shoulder and she did spend a good amount of time on those areas but the pressure was a bit too soft for the really knotted areas. She was obviously very skilled and great at her job but it just wasn't specific enough for me. About 1/2 way through the massage, it got so cold in the room I had to ask for a blanket. Even with the blanket it was very chilly and a bit uncomfortable. After the massage, I was given a glass of water and moved to another room for my facial. The room the facial was in was much much warmer and much cozier. I assumed a different person would give me my facial but the same person came in for the service. Fortunately she was very good, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when the aesthetician leaves during your mask. Leaving you just sort of laying there for 10 minutes. There was a lot of shuffling around and washing of things in between processes, which isn't very relaxing. I guess my biggest complaint about the facial was how short it was. 30 minutes really doesn't get you anywhere. No extractions, and only about a 10 minute steam with no shoulder or hand massage or anything extra. All and all, it was relaxing and nice and my skin definitely looks better but it's kinda one of those things that anything is better than nothing. After my facial, I was escorted to another room for my "hand scrub". I wasn't really sure what this was going to include but it was exactly what it sounds like. She scrubbed my hands with same salts and then gave me about a 5 minutes massage with a heavy moisturizer, certainly not 15 minutes and certainly not worth the 15 minutes I didn't get. I honestly felt like this wasn't part of the package and she only added it to pad the 100 minutes. The massage and facial were both very nice and the location and space are good but I am a bit turned off by the shortchanging of time. The prices are pretty high for the area so you sort of expect to get more generous services. Had I gotten a 50 minute massage and 50 minute facial, I think I'd be a lot happier. It just seemed like they were trying to nickel and dime the package by adding an irrelevant service. The facial was far better than the massage but that might be a personal preference thing, as I like stronger massages. It was a very nice gift (and pretty pricey) so I'm not really in a place to complain but I'm not sure that I'd come back on my own given my experiences. read more

i wanted to give this spa 4 stars! came for the couples massage, and it was an adorable experience. we were in the jacuzzi, full of bubbles. then, we got the full body 60 min. massage. the masseuses were very nice! my massage was relaxing, but unfortunately, not mind blowing. so i had to take down a star. My boyfriend got me a hot stone massage for my birthday at this spa. I have never been here so I didn't know what to expect. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away. First of all, the smell of essential oils upon entry is incredible, creating such a warm, relaxing atmosphere. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. They even took and hung my coat. Life has been stressful all across the board and I decided to do something solely for myself. Price was not a factor and I needed relaxation immediately. I was planning on going to another spa but after talking with my older sister, she told me to go on yelp and check out the reviews on that place. I booked my appointment Wednesday (4/2/14) and a 50% deposit is required. The receptionist was extremely courteous over the phone and in person. I was running late and called to let them know I would be about 10 minutes late (Brooklyn,, traffic.......uggh) and again the receptionist was understanding and professional. My appointment was for Saturday 4/4. Cynergy Spa is inside of an inviting and welcoming brownstone on a short but festive block with a restaurant, a corner store between Fulton street and DeKalb avenue. The receptionist was warm, inviting and she spoke in a calm cool whisper (I am a loud person so I had to keep reminding myself "inside voice, gurrl). She took my jacket and the reception area was done in a warm, welcoming creamy bronze color with sheer drapes hanging from floor to ceiling. It was inviting and oh so relaxing. The room had an extremely comfortable massage table and it had soft chocolate brown color accents around the room, The music was sultry but not boring, the lights were dim and calming. It was refreshing and soothing. The room was clean, smelled wonderful and then came Robert (Lawd, have mercy!). He was magnificent, professional and his hands are #EVERYTHING!!!!!. I purchased the Simple Pleasure Spa Package and it was worth every penny plus %20 tip. Then came Ms. Velvet fingers aka Marsha ( I nicknamed her that in my head while she was doing my facial), she GAVE ME LIFE and she BEAT my face!!!! I have been coming to Cynergy Spa for a facial for about 3 years and have always been impressed with Marsha. I'm always treated with respect and I feel like I am in another world as soon as I come through the doors. The ambiance makes you feel as if you don't have a care in the world. I love sitting quietly before my treatment with a small glass of tea that seems to invite relaxation. After the tea, I am ushered into a beautiful room with calming music and candles. During one of my visits, I told Marsha that I need to start getting massages and she told me about all the health benefits of a therapeutic massage. So I booked a Hot Stone Massage with Marcus for the following month and I can only saw WOW!!! This was by far the best massage I've ever received. My body felt so relaxed that I had to cancel plans with friends that night because I was soooooooo relaxed and wanted to go home and take a bath. Needless to say, I booked another appointment and was told Marcus was on vacation :( and would have to book with Robert. I was told that Robert didn't do the Hot Stone massage but that I should try the Aromatherapy massage.
