I have mixed feelings about this place. I really like the doctors here, I've seen both and they're amazing. If I was basing my review strictly off of the doctors and their work, this would have been a 5 star review. I'm not a huge fan of the front office staff. They call and text way to much once you make an appointment, it's pretty annoying after a while. I once got a call at 8 in the morning on a weekend to confirm an appointment for the up coming week. It also took me at least 4 months to get my crown on from start to finish. Part of the issue was my gums were irritated (that I understand) and part was trying to fit in times where I didn't have to keep taking off of work from my new job, wish they had better hours to accommodate people who can't take off of work whenever they want. As for the hygienist, it's 50/50 whether you're going to get someone who knows what they're doing or whether you will get someone who litterally seems like they just graduated school. I will say the majority of them are very welcoming and sweet. Lastly, I forgot to mention when I went in the first time to have my tooth worked on for the crown, they shaved it down and put a temp crown on. I was still numb so I didn't feel any pain, before checking out they asked for my pharmacy I figured it was for maybe an anti biotic or maybe something for future pain, turns out it was for no reason at all nothing was called in so not sure why they even asked for that information. That night when the novocain wore off I was in tremendous pain. I will say when I was finally able to have the crown permanently fitted it came out absolutely fantastic and fits great. Had extreme tooth pain. Went in and really likes the way I was treated. Took X-rays and set me up for the following week to pull 2 teeth. Get a call at 5:04pm the night before my appointment and am told the doctor does not feel comfortable pulling my teeth and referred me to an oral surgeon. Took off of work to be able to make the appointment. Of course can't call who they referred me too because they are already closed. Will not be recommending or going back. read more

We have taken our kids to this dentist for routine exams, cleanings and X-Rays. We have Premier Dental insurance, and routine preventative maintenance is supposed to be covered 100%. I even verified with my insurance company that these procedures are covered. However, upon completion of our visits we were billed balances for additional services that are not covered. For example, additional X-Rays were taken on the same day of service. My insurance said these were not necessary. Floride treatment was given to my 16-year-old when in fact insurance only pays for this through year 15. Two routine preventative Maintenace appts ended up totaling close to $300 out of pocket. We have filed a claim with our insurance company, and they have begun their investigation. None of these fees were explained prior to service. This is the worst dentist office in Cypress, TX, stay away from them. They will bill you for an extra cost even after you pay your service fees on the spot, and care only about money not about their customers. They used to be good before. read more

The officer manager Keisha or Laquisha (a name something like that) ran my credit WITHOUT MY PERMISSION after I stated multiple times NOT TO!!! Her lack of knowledge, accountability for her actions, aggressive & unprofessional behavior left me in a total state of dismay. It has greatly affected my credit, current & future finances & financial plans. I advised her that I had dental care credit previously & wanted to use it now. I stated ADAMANTLY NUMEROUS times PRIOR, that if it was a "HARD" credit inquiry that I did NOT want my credit run. She insisted each time it was a "SOFT" inquiry & would NOT appear on my credit report. But within minutes I received 2 notifications that I have 2 "HARD INQUIRIES". But she STILL insisted it was "SOFT" even as I showed her the notifications on my phone!!! I became so upset as I thought of my financial plans going down the drain, that I tossed the dental glasses on the counter like a frisbee and said, "I'M LEAVING". Instead of addressing her error, she deflected regarding my glasses toss and said I was "throwing things in the office". The hygienist, (I don't remember her name) told her to leave and tried to comfort me as I cried thinking about my financial plans delayed indefinitely!!! I said, "I'm so fucking mad that I MUST leave because I want to say many curses". Keisha reappeared suddenly & said "NOW YOU'VE CURSED, WE HAVE OTHER PATIENTS TO THINK ABOUT! NOW YOU HAVE TO GO! She refused to give me her supervisor's name or let me speak with the doctor!!! She deflected on my REACTION to her avoidable ACTION. Now I must delay my financial plans indefinitely of refinancing my home this month while I begin to dispute this UNAUTHORIZED inquiry with no end in sight, pay a larger mortgage & interest payment, unable to invest more into my business & have a hard credit inquiry on my credit report possibly for 2 years!!! Although her original action wasn't intentional it was easily avoidable by CALLING CARE CREDIT TO CONFIRM PRIOR TO RUNING MY CREDIT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! In addition, the Xray machine wasn't working properly, and I was exposed to 5 to 7 rounds of radiation!!! I will NEVER go back!!! The hygienist was beyond wonderful. She showed care & compassion. When I first came to Cypress Dental Excellence they were great. However the past couple of years of years things have drastically changedastically changed. The office had cancelled my last appoint due to some work being done in the office, that's fine I understand things happen beyond our control. However after the appointmentntment today I was brought in the exam room and xrays were taken. I was then told the hygentist would be in shortly. I waited 45 minutes. no one came in and checked on me they had just forgotten about me. I was so frustrated i just left. I will not being going back to the practice. This practicetice seems to be having many difficulites due to the patients complaining as I was waiting for my appointmenty appointment. read more

I was met with we will have to see what we can do for you and the assistants that help w/ that treatment leave @ 5PM... don't state you accommodate walk-ins when you really don't and don't state you're open to 8PM when you are really only open to 8PM for existing patients and for cleanings only not for emergent issues... read more

I called up to Cypress Dental Excellence on Friday of last week trying to get a last minute cleaning. They were able to get me in for a cleaning the next day (Saturday) at the perfect time. The staff was very welcoming and handled my insurance perfectly. I had my cleaning and was done in under an hour which was really nice. I also had to get some x-rays which I hate to get, but the staff did a great job on making sure I was comfortable. The doctor was impressive as always and I trust him and his team to give the best service and treatment. I highly recommend this office and hope others try it out as well. Cypress Dental Excellence on Barker Cypress is not where you want to go for dental cleaning, or dental work. I just went to another dentist and have been shown that the cleanings there are not what they should be. They are only interested in getting patients in and out and not focused on real cleanings and doing what's right for their patients. I was shocked to see what had been neglected. This is not right. This should not happen. I am now facing starting from new, deep cleanings, and care that should have been done when I was in their care. Even my fillings are cracking and flaking and wearing away. Awesome dentist. Terrible office staff. After numerous attempts (20) to get them to return an overpayment, I've had to resort to filing a complaint with the TX dental board. It's unfortunate but they won't let you come in the office. They don't respond to faxes, texts, emails, FB messenger or letters. If I could pick up Dr. Sundrani and move him out of his practice, I'd go to him for life. read more

I and my family have been going to his office for many years. Recently I found their office staff service to be the worst i've seen. After my oldest daughter took her braces off, we found she had 7 cavities. We took care of that few years ago. Before she went off to college this year, she went in for a routine cleaning and found 3 more cavities. One behind filled cavity. Since her school is almost 4.5 hours away, we were thinking about having her get that taken care of them at school. They assured us they can get everything taken care of during Labor Day weekend. They took imprint for crown. My daughter drove back home during Labor Day weekend to get her crown and 2 fillings done. She called me from the dentist office indicating that they said she has to come back. I talked on the phone and visited their office that day to emphasize how important it was to get all her work completed that day as she was driving back to school. Well work was done. Now I got a voicemail from their office manager, George. I found him to be rude and unprofessional. "We do not do treatments on Saturday...if you have any concerns, please do not talk to my staff about it. You already pushed my staff enough..." They all knew about my daughter going off. Speechless I'm taking my family dental need to someone who cares and honest. I would give no star if I can. read more

It's funny that this place is called "dental excellence" because they are far from excellent. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Every time I went in they were recommending a crown in a different place. The first 2 I did, but when they recommended another one I started getting suspicious and scheduled a second opinion with another dentist. Not only did she not think I needed the 3rd crown, but she was appalled at the shoddy work on the 2 they did for me and showed me x ray proof of said shoddy work (and also said, based on what I told her, that I probably hadn't needed either one). I now need to replace 2 relatively new crowns as well as have some teeth numbed and deep cleaned based on the lack of care I received at this place (and that doesn't need a second opinion; I could tell myself when she examined them). I'm appalled. If I had legal recourse against this place I'd be exploring it. Look elsewhere. read more

I hate going to the dentist. Hate isn't even strong enough of a word to describe how much I loathe going to dentists, however I love this office. I know this sounds cliche but this office really does make you feel like family. They honestly care about your comfort and do everything possible to make your visit pleasant. I would give Dr Sundrani 6 stars if I could. I grew up with a sadistic dentist that left me with a strong aversion to dentists. We started going to Dr Sundrani maybe 15 years ago, and couldn't be happier. 4 years ago, we moved to a different side of the Houston area, and we still drive all the way back to see him. Yesterday, I had a nagging tooth problem, so decided to call and make the drive. They got me right in, and Doc saw the cause immediately - I had chipped a wisdom tooth. Now I can imagine that might tempt other dentists to recommend the higher revenue solution of "let's just pull the thing," but not Doc. As always he kept it simple and practical. Working in an awkward place in my mouth required a few contortions by Doc and his team, but no pain to me. 30 minutes later I was out of there with a new filling on an old wisdom tooth. As the novocaine wore off, it was also clear that the job was done with perfection - all pain was gone. With Dr Sundrani, my family and I always get practical service with a genuine smile. Excellent dental hygienist (Amanda)! Very thorough and careful; went back after the cleaning to get a couple of spots she could not do earlier because of inflammation. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only reason I did not give them a "5" rating is that I have not yet had any dental work done, only the cleaning. I do like Dr. Sundrani. He's very personable. I have not yet received a copy of a treatment plan, but that's because my dental plan has not responded to their request for information about coverage (which has happened with another office, so I'm certain it's the insurance company that's holding things up). I'm glad the dental office did not offer me their estimate without that response. Another dental office did that, and I ended up having to pay more than the printed amount. I have been going to Dr. Sundrani for at least 10 years now. I was always so happy and impressed with them until this last year. The office staff has gotten my appointments wrong multiple times. I show up and they tell me I do not have an appointment. This happened twice. Today was absolutely the worst experience I have had. Jill is amazing and does a wonderful job with cleanings. After, I had a new staff member to come and do xrays. Then, I went in for my crown. Dr. Sundrani began and did the drilling and such, then got up and left the room and this new staff member sat down and said "my turn" and laughed. I had no idea what her credentials were as she just did my xrays. It took her so long that my pain shots were wearing off and it hurt so much. I was there for 3 and a half hours for a cleaning and crown. It is very sad to see such a great business going down and very rapidly. I will not be going back which is very saddening as I have always trusted and liked them. They were also not willing to let me pay half then and half in a few days, which was never an issue before. read more
