Another excellent food delivery. We had the Pot Roast Po Boy and on the side was our selected Beets of all things instead of fries. Now I normally hate Beets but these are absolutely delicious. Service was fast and so was delivery. Well done.

We had a great time. The service was awesome and the food was absolutely delicious if you like to eat seafood this place is for you. I had the pick 3 platter consisting of fried shrimp, fried catfish and fried crawfish I guess y'all can tell I like my food fried. All of it was fried just the way I like it the platter came with fries and a salad I asked for a side of dirty rice as well, everything was seasoned perfectly I tell y'all the food was deeelicious luckily we made a reservation when we arrived every table was taken except for one yes our table. The staff were friendly and very attentive we will definitely be back

    Crawfish Delight and Seasonal Cocktail

I've heard that this was the best Cajun food in Austin, but I didn't realize that they also had a great bar program, happy hour, and how crowded it would be on a Wednesday. But all of those turned out to be true, and after a short wait I was seated and ordered a seasonal cocktail (I forget the name, but it was mescal based and spicy) along with the crawfish delight. Both were served quickly despite the crowds, and were excellent. The reward program is generous too with a $10 birthday month reward. I don't get to this area of Austin too often, but it's definitely on my list now!

    Fresh crawfish on Tuesday

I was excited for fresh crawfish. They have it fresh from Louisiana on Tuesday and Thursday. The moment I took the first bite, it was disappointing. It was soooo salty I thought I would have a kidney failure the next day. I have heard great reviews about this place though, so I'll give them another try for the lunch happy hour and try out other dishes.

We ordered margaritas on arrival. They were excellent. L ordered the lunch special with fried shrimp and catfish with fried okra as the side. I ordered the same except I had the seafood gumbo as the side. We both agreed that the shrimp and catfish were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Absolutely delicious. My seafood gumbo was excellent and L enjoyed his fried okra. Service was friendly and check-in on us several times. Enjoyable down home environment--a great place for a meal.

John, in addition to being a single man who eats out daily, I have over 40 years of customer-service experience--so I know the difference between constructive feedback and an owner throwing a public tantrum because someone didn't praise his food. I'm from the country. My mother grows her own greens, and I grew up cutting and preparing them. I stand firmly by what I said: those greens did not taste fresh or field-grown, and the chicken desperately needed seasoning. Selling 600 bland meals does not magically make the 601st one flavorful. An Arnold Palmer might be unsweetened where you're from. I don't have a problem with my sugar or blood pressure which means I eat food seasoned and I like my tea sweet. Perhaps spend less time counting "strikes" against paying customers and more time training your cooks to season food--and yourself to receive criticism without becoming defensive and insulting. For someone so concerned with "actual facts," you seem remarkably confused about the purpose of a review. And yes, I tried the bread pudding. It was delicious, and I'm perfectly capable of recognizing good food when it is actually served. Consider that your one hit in an otherwise disappointing meal. Best of luck with the seasoning--and the customer-service training.

I am a regular at Cypress Grill, a restaurant that has a Louisiana Cajun fare menu. It has a relaxing, casual atmosphere with seriously good food that is made from scratch. They are known as a small restaurant with a big heart. I am always looking for a place that balances comfort with thoughtful execution, and Cypress Grill always delivers. They have an amazing reward program. I was using my $10 off birthday coupon on this occasion. My go-to is the trout meunière, and it is prepared beautifully. The rainbow trout was perfectly cooked, delicate, flaky, and never overdone, with that classic meunière preparation letting the fish shine. The lemon-parsley butter sauce was bright and balanced, enhancing the dish without overpowering it, and every bite felt intentional and refined. It is served over white rice. I usually get a side salad with ranch dressing that is crisp and fresh. On this dining occasion, I sat at the bar and the bar tender was attentive and friendly with appropriate conversation. The atmosphere in the dining area is relaxed yet polished, making it just as suitable for a casual night out as for a special dinner. Service was attentive without hovering. Cypress Grill is the kind of place that reminds you why simple dishes, when done right, are so satisfying. I will return to explore more of the menu and was excited to see Scallop Risotto as the January special.

It was very busy this afternoon. Until after the happy hour and then all of a sudden the restaurant was almost empty. Until then the noise level was a little high. The food was decent. We had catfish, seafood platter and seafood combo. Our server was pleasant and friendly. We will be back.

If you are looking for a delicious Muffletta, you should give this place a try. We started off with a couple of adult beverages. The Margarita on the rocks was really good and refreshing, but the Bloody Mary won the prize. It's probably one of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had. It was really tasty, flavorful and delicious and had some kick to it...pretty spicy...which I like. If you don't like spicy...steer clear. We ordered the "Troy's Favorite Lunch". It came with a quarter Muffuletta and a cup of chicken & andouille sausage gumbo, we substituted it for the seafood gumbo. The sandwich had a lot of meat and cheese on it with the olive sauce paired very nicely. The bread was very fresh and the combination of everything complimented each other and was very tasty. The seafood gumbo was delicious. From the thick dark brown roux, the rice and a lot of shrimp and seafood, it was really good. The servings are very generous, I don't think you'll leave hungry. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. Our server was very polite and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant has a really fun and laidback vibe to it. The atmosphere was very pleasant, fun and full of friendly people. The restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Best restaurant ever. Fantastic service. Always best food. I have tried 98% of the menu and they are all banger

My partner brought me here, he used to come here a lot. This is my first time coming here and my food was delicious. I got the crawfish delight and it was amazing. I can't wait to go back. The pot roast was yummy. The food wasn't salty, I'm super salty sensitive and I was happy that I was able to eat it. The service was okay, I think our server was bogged down with a table that kept talking to him, so it was taking much of his time. It was fine. I would definitely recommend this and I can't wait to try something new.

We love Cypress Grill and have come for years... Tonight we ordered to go. Salmon salad, catfish platters, trout menagerie, kid's shrimp and chicken and andouille gumbo. Everything was delicious, even for take-out.... EXCEPT the gumbo. Not sure what happened to the gumbo. I usually love the dark roux but tonight it tasted a bit burned and with an almost burnt coffee taste. Sadly it was inedible. Don't let that keep you from having the gumbo but maybe don't order it to-go in case there are issues. No other pictures because, we were hungry.

Dried up not juicy one bit. Nothing like Louisiana people cooking crawfish. Salty very salty.

Very very dry, and not a good atmosphere for people of colored. Service, was to go.Hardly got a smile out of any of them. Young people and staff members Attitudes are dried just like the darn crawfish they serve to me.

Will Cypress Grill consider putting Crawfish Enchiladas on the menu?

It was previously! But ultimately didn’t make the cut for various reasons. It has and probably will again reappear as a monthly featured entree. Stay tuned!

Yes! All leashed pets are welcome on our patio space, and trained service dogs are allowed indoors.

Does Cypress Grill serve Coke or Pepsi products? Also do they do bottomless refills on soda?

I stopped today with my husband and absolutely LOVED it, I'm definitely gonna be back!!…read moreBut let me tell you more! The indoor is very beautiful and smells like cinnamon and apple (a scent that I love), especially going towards the bathrooms. Theres a bar section with plenty of seating and the room inside the restaurant is overall very spacious. I didn't see much of the indoor as I decided to sit outside in the patio. Although being during the Texas summer, the patio has plenty of (very powerful) fans! The view of the green belt next to the restaurant is amazing, and there is also an outdoor bar, which gives impeccable vibes. We ordered two starters and had plenty of food! My husband ordered the Barbacoa Stackers (slow roasted barbacoa, refried black beans, Jack cheese, JAK slaw, Cotija cheese) I personally loved them! The meat was tasty and juicy, the black beans were perfectly cooked and everything was so rich in flavor. Definitely a 10/10! I ordered the Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit, served with honey & seasonal fruit flavored butter (with a side of yummy bacon) Today they had strawberry flavor, and there was even strawberry jam. I have to be honest, THE BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life! And I love me some good biscuits! They were buttery and crumbly to the right point! The strawberry butter with the strawberry jam was the perfect combo! We were told the biscuits are made fresh every morning, and I love that! It was definitely a 1000/10! We also got some chips and salsa. Chips are very crunchy, and the salsa is spicy to the right point! Now I'm building my tolerance with the spicy and this salsa was really yummy, and can build up the spice! The waiter who served it to us, brought it over in a small mason jar and emptied it in the little container for our table, which was something I've never seen done like this. Definitely appreciated it! Makes me think they make their own salsa (forgot to check on that!) They also gave us a complimentary pita bread with pimento, and it was delicious! The pita bread was very crunchy and salty to the right point! They even gifted me a portion of peach and strawberry cobbler, topped with ice cream, for my birthday and it was insane! The flavor was perfectly sweet and mixed with the ice cream was very refreshing and still warm and melting in my mouth! Probably one of the best cobblers I've ever had! And keep in mind, we got here that we weren't feeling super hungry, and yet we were able to appreciate every single bite cause it was so good!! Last but not least - Ali, our server, was incredible! She was so nice throughout the whole dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. She was so kind to ask if I could add peach puree to my freshly squeezed lemonade (which is a 10/10), and even made sure I had plenty of strawberry butter for my biscuits. We definitely took some leftovers home and I can't wait to have the remaining biscuit in the morning!

All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!

Overall, Dish Society is a solid brunch spot on SoCo with a relaxed feel!

We started our wedding weekend with a breakfast at paperboy, have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries and it's always so special. Favorites: Lil Remi (used to be the Lil Billy I think?) - one of my favorite coffees ever. Their pastries - we usually try one or two each time and love all, especially the poptart. I wish they would bring back the guava croissant one! The empanada is also so good. Maple sausage - you may think how good can sausage be, but it's amazing. Chocolate chip pancake - their pancake is huge, fluffy, but crisp on the outside. It's delicious, but so filling. My husband loves their BEC, the chicken biscuit, and he used to love the chopped cheese.

I asked the staff to turn it down and I was told by the gentleman the temp was set to comfortable. Then he mentioned outside seating. I reminded him we were inside and the ac is cold and it's going to make our food cold. Eat quickly because those breakfast items don't last under ac blast. How did you your cold eggs? Oh, you didn't.

All right folks had to go back to try their brunch and again not disappointed at all. Reservations…read moreopen about three weeks in advance so I definitely kept checking to see when they would be available and snagged the 11 AM first reservation time slot available. I enjoyed the fact that their valet opened before 11 in the valet was $13 I believe so you got to get in there park your car and they also do have street parking. Should you choose to go that route. Once you're on the ground, you can venture around and look at all the beautiful peacocks and just their overall lovely landscaping. We were sat right away as they have a reservations line and then a walk-in line with the reservations line getting to be at first. Our table was half bench and chairs which the benches because they are kind of a velvety material made it a little bit hard to slide over so make note if you're wearing a long dress that happens to snag as you scoot on over. We ended up starting with the jalapeño cheddar kolache and the donut holes. These were both shared amongst three of the crew, which both were very tasty and the jalapeño cheddar kolache, however did have a little bit of a kick. Main course for myself was the shrimp and grits came with four very large shrimp. The grits were blue corn, which is new for me, but also very tasty. One of the crew left the decision up to the gentleman, assisting us and wound up having the tiramisu French toast. That was so rich and very decadent definitely more of a dessert than a breakfast item. As they found out, it was a birthday celebration for two of us at the crew. They did a very nice job at the end to provide with two funfetti scoops of ice cream with candles in them so we got a little happy birthday song and a sweet treat at the very end of the meal. I really enjoy this place from the service to the food. Everything just comes out really well. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

History: Henry & Mattie Faulk bought the property known as…read moreGreen Pastures (where the restaurant is located/Green Pastures itself is an inn & event property) in 1916. Twenty-three acres with pastures and gardens. Their daughter Mary was an incredible cook who loved making meals for family and friends. After getting married, she returned to live on the property for a few years. In 1946 she remodeled the farmhouse into a restaurant (which was at that time also called Green Pastures). The restaurant welcomed people of all religions and races since opening its doors in 1946 (18 years prior to desegregation in Austin). Decor/Design/Atmosphere: The grounds have peacocks strolling about and squirrels frolicking. It's like being transported to a magical fairytale land. It just oozes the generational love and caring put forth by Mary and her family so many decades ago. Lovely landscape. The Victorian architecture lends charm to the elegant decor from the floral wallpapers, stained glass windows, and fireplaces to the hardwood floors and the pastel and ethereal color scheme. There are multiple dining rooms and an upstairs bar (bar has a great peacock wallpaper). It truly feels like you've been invited to dine at a friend's house. ...And, what you've all been waiting for.. FOOD: HANDS DOWN BEST BRUNCH IN AUSTIN & MAYBE BEST BRUNCH EVER! My boyfriend and I shared the following: Fried Green Tomatoes- Comes with a crab + corn salad (that I didn't eat) my boyfriend lost his mind over the crab salad and we both lost our minds over the tomatoes. The breading was exactly what you expect on a green tomato fried up Southern-style. Light, airy, and seasoned to perfection. That batter was absolutely delightful. The tomatoes were crunchy yet warm and tender. A happy dance for our mouths. Rainbow Carrots- Wood grilled to perfection and topped with feta crumbles, a lemon vinaigrette, seeds, and hummus. The carrots were fabulously tender-crisp with sweet and tender centers. Tiramisu French Toast- The most wonderfully decadent and glorious brunch treat to cross our lips. This work of art included sticky toffee, molasses made of bourbon and espresso, and mascarpone (whipped). It left us both delightfully dizzy. We washed everything down with flavorful teas (in our own little pots). I stuck with a classic, Earl Gray as did the boyfriend who went with Jasmine Green. Both excellent selections. There are many things on the brunch menu (as well as the dinner menu) we still want to try and can't wait to get back. In fact , I will be heading back in a few weeks with friends. For that reason, I opted not to take pictures today. I do this every now and again (wait to take pics or not always take them at all...just depends on my mood & the vibe---don't try to figure me out, that's not for you to do.). 5/5 rating though it should be 10/10.

The restaurant's "landlocked life, coastal state of mind" concept comes through in the menu, featuring seafood-forward dishes, creative cocktails, and Gulf-inspired flavors. I ordered a custom crafted Black Cherry Muddled Mezcal Margarita, which was a great balance of smoky mezcal, sweetness, and fresh flavors. It was a unique twist on a classic margarita and was the highlight of the meal. I started with the Roasted Carrots, served with whipped ricotta, watercress, date vinaigrette, and candied pecans. While the combination of flavors was interesting, the dish felt more like a salad than a true roasted carrot dish. The carrots were also a bit overcooked, and I would have preferred for the carrots themselves to be the main focus and shine as the highlight of the dish. For my entrée, I ordered the Cioppino and customized it by removing the clams and adding extra mussels. The dish featured mussels, white fish, shrimp, and chopped clams in a flavorful tomato broth served with grilled sourdough. The seafood was well prepared, however the broth was a bit too thick like a marinara consistency but had good rich and savory flavor. The restaurant was not very busy during my visit, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The atmosphere is casual yet polished, and it's a nice spot for anyone looking for coastal flavors without having to leave Austin.

I really wanted to love Keepers. As someone who loves…read moresupporting local restaurants -- especially Persian-owned businesses -- and lives in an area that desperately needs more great dining options, I was rooting for this place from the beginning. Unfortunately, over time, the food has been more disappointing than memorable. From the opening preview when the shrimp hot dog made its debut -- an ambitious choice, but not one that made me excited to come back -- to the overly salty crab fingers and other menu items that have felt like they were trying to be interesting rather than actually being delicious, it just hasn't come together. The biggest frustration is that the potential is clearly there. The location is great, the concept is unique, and Circle C needs more restaurants that people can't wait to return to. I'm still hoping they find their stride because I want local places like this to succeed.
