this was a disappointing stop after a wonderful 6 day roadtrip along the Organ coast…read more placed our reservation thinking we paid for a lovely riverside camp site. come to find out upon arrival the site was a gravel unmarked drive way with the very loud sound of the freeway. not sure of our site we drove back up to the office of course, knowone there (office hours 10 to 3pm) called office manager Amanda and recieved a very unwelcoming response to our question and verification of camp site. drove back to site , hooked up sat down, got back up unhooked and spate gravel out of there...so worth leaving our $64.50 behind.

We got it settled and had no problems after that. The sites was long enough for our trailer and truck in front. Thanks to Dean who helped direct us in because he got us farther back than I would because of a box in back. He was so kind and helpful!! The park is positioned right next to the freeway and the on ramp. The noise was unbearable for me especially trying to sleep at night. The first night allowed me no sleep, because the freeway and on ramp is SOOOO loud. I wised up the second night and used ear plugs, and that was the only way I was able to get sleep. And forget about sitting outside under your Awning sipping on a cold one trying to have a conversation with your loved one. You will find yourself indoors soon. I don't know why they did not install a sound wall, it makes no sense. If you're looking for a more quiet campground with hookups, consider Valley of the Rogue state park. It's set back farther from the freeway, they have trees and a mound as a noise barrier, and it really makes a difference. But, besides the noise issue, Rockpoint is a really nice park. Just come prepared.

Thank you Dawn! The trails were beyond amazing, there were places to take my dog that were super fun. All our neighbors were great as we made new friends in our little area. The showers and restrooms were very clean and the bathroom always kept warm for hot showers. Thank you Amanda! Who was also great! When booking our spot Cathy was also super helpful and accomodatin g. And their store prices were very reasonable, unlike most campsite general stores and they had everything we needed. This place is by far oiur most favorite place to stay....a definite 5 star plus. Also, their cabins and yurts are so cute and homey! we are already booking for next month! Bathrooms have single, lockable showers. It's dry, hot, and hard for the kids to play. The loop is narrow and one way which makes traffic a little tricky at times and not good for kids riding bikes in my opinion. They can't play around the camp spot because of the thistle without long pants and boots. We had the lake to ourselves this morning which was nice. We kayaked, didn't swim. The water slides are open Monday, Thursday, Fri-Sun, June-Sept. Pay for it. It's well worth it. The line moves quick and the kids had a great time. The snack bar has treats. Heads up, cash only. Great playground too when it's not in the 90°s.

My dog has stickers & pokies all over him because there isn't normal grass ANYWHERE. My family & I showed up in sandals & had slivers/stickers all in our sandals. Very painful. Their website photos are either edited or were taken a long time ago because this place looks nothing like it did on the website. If you're looking for a great family camping spot, this is NOT a good one.

It cost about $85 but it was well worth it. The river running through the campground is lovely and they have Adirondack chairs spaced out along it so you can sit and enjoy. It is off the highway about 6 miles so there is no noise from the freeway just the sound of the river. Very clean and dog/pet friendly. The owners are helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

We were a bit worried by the road there (lots of fair sized holes) and the weather (California was experiencing a bad heat wave, and it was 105 here), and considered only staying one of our two nights. So so glad we stayed both nights. The wild horses were hanging out the whole time, and much of it in front of our trailer. I'm sure the heat drove them down to the river and tasty lawn. We also saw the blue heron, bats, and two river otters! Baby bird above the men's bathroom. Lots to see and enjoy. This place is pristine and quiet. We'd just come from a gross Thousand Trails and a loud state park. Coming here with the clean (and air conditioned!!) bathrooms and showers was lovely. The hosts were so nice. And it just felt quiet and relaxing, only punctuated by territorial stallions making a fuss. Nice additions are the giant shaded area with picnics tables and Adirondack chairs to hang out in- our space didn't have a tree so the shaded option was much appreciated. This is a way away from us, but we hope to come back and spend more time here. Also- shoutout to the hosts who spend a lot of time cleaning up horse poop to keep the roads clean for us!
