The park is positioned right next to the freeway and the on ramp. The noise was unbearable for me especially trying to sleep at night. The first night allowed me no sleep, because the freeway and on ramp is SOOOO loud. I wised up the second night and used ear plugs, and that was the only way I was able to get sleep. And forget about sitting outside under your Awning sipping on a cold one trying to have a conversation with your loved one. You will find yourself indoors soon. I don't know why they did not install a sound wall, it makes no sense. If you're looking for a more quiet campground with hookups, consider Valley of the Rogue state park. It's set back farther from the freeway, they have trees and a mound as a noise barrier, and it really makes a difference. But, besides the noise issue, Rockpoint is a really nice park. Just come prepared.

We only stayed one night since most sites do not have full hookups. We did not use the restrooms or showers, so I cannot comment on those. We were worried and a little on uncomfortable when we saw the giant Confederate Flag being flown by the first camper in the park. We are moving down the road to another RV park today.

There are clearly people living at this campground, and the number of broken-down vehicles and the amount of trash were hard to ignore. Our picnic table was wobbly and looked like it could collapse at any moment. The sites were dirty and poorly maintained. The tent sites along the creek were so overgrown with vegetation that it felt like you were sitting next to a swamp rather than a creek. To make matters worse, when we tried to dump our RV tank on the morning of our departure, we discovered that management had to unlock the dump station, which obviously doesn't work for anyone leaving early. This is, without question, the worst campground we've ever stayed at. Thankfully, it was only for one night while we were passing through.

My dog has stickers & pokies all over him because there isn't normal grass. ANYWHERE. My family & I showed up in sandals & had slivers/stickers all in our sandals. Very painful. Their website photos are either edited or were took a long time ago because this place looks nothing like it did on the website. If you're looking for a great family camping spot this is NOT a good one.

July 23-25, 2025 - Ashland, Oregon…read more The Point RV Park has 32 sites with full hookups overlooking the shoreline on the lake's north end. Each site offers water, 50-amp electrical service, sewer, and 14' x 50' pads. The RV Park is for Recreational Vehicles only. There is a locked restroom and 3 showers within the camping area. Look at your reservation confirmation for the code to the bathrooms and showers. There is a camp host on site. The campsites are arranged diagonally on a slope, providing a sense of space and privacy--you don't feel like you're right on top of your neighbor, even though you are very close. (The pads themselves are level.) There was no trail to the lake from our site, but the empty site next to us had a trail which a few campers were using to access the lake. This isn't a particularly quiet campground (except in the early morning), as it's located across from two docks, with boats coming and going throughout the day. During our stay, a helicopter was also conducting water release training, adding to the noise. Also worth noting are the many stickers, burrs, and foxtails throughout the area. If you have a dog, you'll need to be mindful of where they walk. During our stay, temperatures reached into the 90s, making the pavement too hot in the afternoon--and unfortunately, there wasn't anywhere sticker-free to comfortably walk our pup. A trail runs along the lake and leads to a rocky beach area--it's a nice walk. However, about a quarter mile in, there's a large poison oak bush encroaching on the trail. I didn't recognize it at first and brushed past it, so take care as you go. (Update on July 28--I did get poison oak...damn.) We brought our kayak, so my husband was up early each morning to go fishing. He caught a couple of fish, so he was very happy with this camping spot. On our last night, a distant lightning storm over the mountains treated us to a beautiful light show, which was a nice ending to our stay here.

What an awesome campground! My family camp for 5 nights here in early August. The cost to camp…read morehere is $16 per night. There are 30 camp sites here and they are maintained. Each campsite comes with a small fire pit, a picnic table, a trash can, a parking space for 2 cars, and a good size camp site. There are water spickets nearby the campsites. There are also flush toilets, automatic water sinks, automatic paper towel dispensers; all of which are well maintained. There are pay showers, if you wish to utilize being clean (50 cents for 4 minutes). Check the web site for all details of the campground. There is also a camp host in case of any emergencies or rowdy campers. Actually, there was one campsite that blared some music past 10pm (noise curfew) for an hour, which I went over there and ask him to turn it down (which he obliged). I will say that many of the campers were more on the strange side (drifters, displaced individuals, and the likes), all which seemed harmless. It seemed that 85% of the campers that were there, all had a dog or two. The Applegate River is about a quarter mile away. My family enjoyed playing in the river twice while we were camping here. Cantrall-Buckley County Park is literally across the street from the campground. And of course, our purpose for camping here was to visit Applegate Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jon Courson (located about 1 mile away). Be aware of speed traps coming into the valley here. There are occasionally police officers stationed along this route.
