When booking our spot Cathy was also super helpful and accomodatin g. And their store prices were very reasonable, unlike most campsite general stores and they had everything we needed. This is a beautiful county campground. Located on the upper Rogue River, there are 38 campsites,…read more16 of which have water/electric hookups. There is a boat ramp and access to the Rogue River and Elk Creek. Campsites are $26/night for hookups, $22/night for no hookups. Sites are level and spacious. Camp host is friendly. When we first arrived, we realized our reserved site (#15) had no shade whatsoever, which was an issue because we were in the middle of a major heat wave with 90-100 degree heat. We were lucky, because we were able to find an unreserved site that had full shade. If you want shade, stay away from Site 15. Another issue with site 15 is that it is right next to the spot on the river where rafters pull out, so it gets a lot of foot traffic. There were people who parked their cars in what was our reserved site, even though it had a reserved sign on it. We were happy in our new site, but the beast of this campground is the road noise. The campground is located RIGHT NEXT TO Crater Lake Highway 62. We knew this when we made the reservations, but in reading the reviews no one had mentioned road noise. We didn't realize how much traffic there would be, especially truck traffic, all through the night. The highway curves near the campground, so it is a section where drivers are constantly braking, then accelerating as they go up the hill. Also, like many campgrounds, the vibe changes on the weekend. The weekend campers were noisier and messier. I have to say, in all the camping we have done, I have never been in a campground where campers left food, clothes, trash, etc. out all over tables and the ground the entire time they were in their sites. I'm not a neat freak, and I know we are here to relax because "we're camping", but I have never seen anything like it. Also, the dumpster near our campsite was full, and even though there was a sign asking people to take their trash to a nearby dumpster that was not full, people just dumped their trash on the outside of the dumpster, where it piled up. Such a shame. Quite an eyesore until the trash was finally picked up days later.

We only stopped here for day use and access to the Rogue, and this park did not disappoint. Quite a ways off of I-5, you venture through an amazing gorge and come around the bend to see this lovely park! We splashed around in the river next to the boat launch... this is a popular spot to end a rafting trip (!) and enjoyed the trees, shade, and peace. Would absolutely return to camp - what a place!

Sadly the resevoir was shockingly low and what would have normally been nearby water views were limited. Our campsite had water and power and everything worked well for the entire stay. There are two dump stations near the entrance. When the park is full I suspect the dump station could get crowded. There are playgrounds for the kids in between the major campground areas. Restrooms and showers were decent. It's a well maintained campground especially for a public one.

The campground felt more like parking along a dirt road than an actual campground. There was frequent vehicle traffic through the area at different times of day and night, so it did not feel quiet or restful. The bathrooms were very poorly maintained, extremely small, and uncomfortable to use. The shower stalls also did not seem properly cleaned or maintained. If you are only camping, I do not think it is worth the price. There also did not seem to be basic camper amenities. I did not find a communal kitchen, and even getting drinking water was inconvenient. The water fountains were difficult to use. Overall, the property felt neglected and under-maintained. The pool and soaking areas were also disappointing. The pools looked grimy, and the "silence" signs were not respected during my stay. Every time I used the hot pool area, people were talking loudly. The dry sauna was fine, but not special enough to justify coming here; it felt similar to a basic gym sauna. The wet sauna was also not worth the trip by itself. I also had concerns about safety and management. On one very hot day, a dog was left tied outside near a tent for a long period while barking, and other campers had to help care for it. I did not see management respond, even though staff appeared to be driving around the property. On the morning I left, another guest behaved aggressively toward me near my van, which made me feel unsafe. The front desk seemed mainly focused on payment and access control, not on guest comfort, cleanliness, or safety. As a non-white guest, I also felt uncomfortable and out of place here, and I did not feel that management was attentive enough to create a safe environment. This place may appeal to some locals or repeat visitors, but based on my experience, it was dirty, poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and not worth the price. I would not return and would strongly recommend checking the property carefully before booking online. DEFINITELY NOT FAMILY-FRIENDLY.
