We decided to have an early New Year celebration at Cypress Lounge. I celebrated my 50th birthday and was excited to see that they survived Covid. Remembering have great my experience was, I was excited to return. The ambiance is still warm and inviting. We got a table right in front of the fireplace. The hostess was very friendly and not invasive. Sadly, the food was MEH . Their calamari was very salty, my husband got the chicken sliders which was equally salty. Maybe the same batter. My drink was delicious as well as my salad. Living in Seattle, I probably won't be in a hurry to return. However, I do wish them success. Happy 2026

This is a hideout spot on the middle of DT Bellevue I am a bit hesitant to reveal (). I like hip, chick establishments too, but majority of them have high ceilings with no to very little sound-absorbing materials. They are super cool to our eyes, but seldom makes it difficult to carry a good convo with your company (hard to hear one another as sounds travel so many directions with concrete walls, floors, and high ceilings...!). Here comes Cypress - a perfect quiet spot with carpeted floor (sound absorbing materials, yay!) , a cozy gas fireplace, and comfy chairs. It is not facing Bell Way (so it stays quiet) but South facing windows bring in plenty of daylights (they will have patio seating open soon). This is a tranquil sanctuary where you can relax and have a good time catching up with your friends and loved ones. Food/drink options may not be as grandeur as the steakhouses nearby, but we enjoyed some glass of bubbles, wine, and appetizers. I personally loved their hummus where they had baked chickpeas and seeds on top - other items (calamari, shishito peppers) were also yummy. Staff are very pleasant and friendly too.

Got a couple small plates to tide us over til dinner. Hit the spot. Staff was friendly. I couldn't find the menu online, so here you go if you are looking for it.

Great atmosphere. Quiet so you can actually have decent conversation with your party. Good was amazing! Ordered some small plates to begin with. Chicken wings and fries were delicious but the Artichoke chicken Flatbread was Devine! Our party had the lemongrass chicken as an entrée and that was his. The salmon was juicy and the steak was cited to perfection. Drinks were strong and good as well. Only drawback? You're just gonna have to wait a good 30 mins for all of them to arrive! Although it wasn't a busy night, the kitchen was pretty backed up and everything was behind. Pandemic issues are real and is unfortunate that the servers have to work extra hard to please everyone. We didn't make a deal of this as our server was doing the best he can. All in all, i would love to come back when all these staffing issues gets resolved.

I would give it 3.5 stars for limited variety of food, and 4 stars for service. NEED A COUPON OF 20%off? Read my review: How shall I put it? If you have low expectations from this place, you'll think it's great. If you compare it with EQUES (Cypress is just $5 cheaper than Eques) you'll be disappointed. And don't get me wrong. The quality of the food is great; despite there's only like 2 servers for the entire restaurant, the service is pretty decent. It's just that the buffet is very limited compared to other places. I mean, it's located in Bellevue, at the Westin, so maybe $25 for a full experience buffet it's not that bad. Basically they have eggs/ omelettes MOD, 3 sides: sausages, bacon and hash browns. Then berries and cantaloupe/honeydew, yogurt, hot oatmeal and cereal for kids. A few choices for cheeses, ham and smoked salmon. Of course milk, tea, (starbucks)coffee and juice are included. The ambience is pretty relax, it's located at the bar of the hotel, you don't have to wait to be seated as long as you find a free table. So that's great!! If you have children you know a long wait is horrible!! HERES THE GOOD NEWS FOR YELPERS: if you check in, you'll get a 20% off.

Wow! Such a great selection of food and cocktails. Fun atmosphere and even in the pandemic , the service was undoubtedly the best. The food was amazing and how they set up everything even dealing with this pandemic was amazing. We came here for happy hour. This was my first time coming here with my girlfriend. She was amazed. She loved everything specially the flat bread that we had. Btw- they have a fireplace inside. Thumbs up for that We had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back :-)

Double dipping downgrade. The stars aligned to give me the most perfect imperfect happy hour. Imagine... A long, dreary, stressful day. Finally, it's quitting time and starving to the point that the stomach is roaring and in pain. The first place on the mind, Cypress, good ol' Cypress inside of the Westin, yea, that's the ticket. An hour of fighting traffic to get to downtown Bellevue, thinking about how satisfying a great HH would finish the night. I finally arrive and only not too busy, probably 20% occupied with patrons. The server takes my order. I get my water pretty promptly but then 10 mins go by, 15, 20, then at the 30 min mark, I had to get up and ask for my freakin' food. The manager seemed to care and told me it'll be right out. Five mins later, the food does come out! Eh, maybe they are short-handed tonight so it takes longer I thought. The food looks good so I start munching: Crab cakes: just as I remembered it, but a bit lukewarm. Mini burgers: Cold bread and meat. Yuck. I place that aside, angry but went on to the next dish, dying for sustenance..... Manila Clams: Again, not warm at all and most of them were sandy!! Argh!! Bruschetta: No one can mess this one up, right? WRONG!! The toppings tasted like they just came out of a refrigerator! Bread base soggy to make matters worse. My theory here is that someone dropped the ball and did not pick up my order from the counter for at least 10-12 mins causing the food to drop in temperature, then was eventually fetched. Disgusted, I brought up yet another complaint to the server about this mess and thankfully they didn't charge me for the nasty meal I waited 35 mins for. Grabbed my stuff and left for Din Tai Fung (DTF) and never looked back. What a change from my first visit, so disappointed and swearing in my head all the way to DTF.

Staying at Weston for a week. What a complete disappointment that they have almost no vegan options. Lamb? Ugh.

It just doesn't make sense. I've been here before and have always sat in the front area, which has comfortable cushioned seating. This time, we were seated in the back area, and the chairs there were honestly so uncomfortable. After sitting for about two hours, all of us literally had backaches. When you're charging premium prices for food and drinks, comfortable seating should be a basic part of the experience. As you can see from our bill, we spent around $300, and at that price point, sitting on cheap, uncomfortable chairs really takes away from the high-end bar experience. We actually could have stayed longer and ordered more, but the seating made all of us so uncomfortable that it completely killed the vibe. We also shared this feedback with our server. That being said, I do want to specifically mention that the staff was wonderful and the service was 5/5. Our server, Andrew, was great! He recommended a drink to my friend based on her taste preferences, and she absolutely loved it. Overall, the staff was very nice, attentive, and fun. I really hope Civility & Unrest considers upgrading the seating in the back area to comfortable cushioned chairs or sofas. It would make such a huge difference and would better match the otherwise classy atmosphere and premium pricing.

This was while the place was practically empty, so I'm not sure what else could have been occupying their time. Second, I ordered the pork shoulder stir fry which wasn't bad but had several large pieces of pure fat & gristle in it that I felt a high quality restaurant would have taken out of the dish. It's indicative of lazy & careless food preparation skills. Also, the basmati rice was very under-cooked...some pieces were even crunchy. Lastly, after leaving the place, I realized that I accidentally left my sunglasses there. So I called later that evening to inquire if they had found them. I discovered they route all incoming calls to a bot that instantly made me feel unimportant and unappreciated. What's worse is it tried to connect me with someone in the restaurant, but kept looping back into its own messaging narrative. What an absolute PITA. This enables me to make a broader point: Restaurants have to get it through their heads that cutting costs has negative impact on customer experience, putting the lifeblood of their business into jeopardy. Take the widespread adoption of QR code-based menus during COVID...how many restaurants do you know actually switched back to real menus after COVID passed? The answer is very few. The reason why? They are too stingy to pony up the dough and ignore the benefit to the customer experience. They figure, 'people already know how to do that so why spend the money on printing up menus anymore?". They couldn't care less about what customers might actually enjoy more, and that's the real travesty. If restaurants are going to force their customers into a self-serve model (as so many have nowadays), then why bother tipping anyone? I am so fed up of a world where the idolatry of wealth has surpassed the appreciation and value of real, engaging human experiences. The Central Bar + Restaurant could help reverse this course if they ever decide to they put customer experience first instead of their own profits. UPDATE: Added one star because they actually had my shades...went ot go pick them up today.

She ADDED to the meal experience and was so social! The wait staff, two young guys, were great as well. Ever watching to remove plates but not abrupt! I NOTICE everything so saw them keeping attention to when to clear. Most would probably not notice them. The choices were GREAT! Beef, Chicken, Seafood, and vegan! We had the Korean Cauliflower! It was so good! The flavor, the spice, and cauliflower. Just a great appetizer warm up. My other half had an old fashioned and said it was THE BEST he has had and he travels the WORLD for business. I had the Shrimp linguini and he had the Chicken Parmessan and BOTH we EXCELLENT. So many big shrimp and I WANTED to but COULD NOT finish all the pasta. Save room for DESSERT! We got both the Benginetes (sp) and the Vegan Banana Coconut Dessert and we are NOT vegan. BOTH were to die for! We do NOT eat like this normally, but made it a special dinner being between our Birthdays (16 days between). Like ooyie, gooyie DONUTS with a great cinnamon highlights, and an amazing Banana on graham crackers with a wonderful non-dairy Cocunut creme. It was smaller so not really sharable, yet PLENTY for ones entire dessert. The place is spacious yet has cozy, private areas, as well as the bar and and events area. The price was as expected for Seattle/Bellevue so not shocking. The meal and location was WORTH the $200 (with a GENEROUS tip and an alcoholic drink). There was a corporate even in the other half and we saw the plates of food being served. It was great! They seemed to enjoy their corporate dinner there.
