SAT 1/17/26 2pm 6 adults__I chose Cypress Tavern for a late celebration Christmas luncheon with family for these reasons: (1) it was mutually convenient for us to travel to, (2) the online reviews were very good, (3) the photos (on YELP) were very inviting, (4) the menu was extensive so I was confident that everyone could find something they would enjoy. We had several glasses of wine, we had appetizers, we had French onion soup, we had pizza, we had linguine with clams, we had steak, we had tuna, we had dessert. We had so much food, we brought some home too! Kathy, our excellent server and photographer, took great care of us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was so nice to watch the sunset on the snow as it was being plowed in the parking lot and the fire burning in their fireplace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was like being at a ski resort restaurant after being on the slopes all day except we were the only ones there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Loved every minute! Thank you for making our afternoon so special!

Had the pleasure of stopping by Cypress after a hike nearby and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Service was friendly and food was fresh with generous portions. My friend had a cocktail that was just "ok" and a bit pricey but I found most food items on the menu were well priced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Easy parking in their lot and comfortable ambiance inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was told they also have live music on weekend nights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back

We've been to Cypress Tavern several times. Their food is consistently excellent. But last weekend we were very disappointed at our treatment. My wife and I are both in our late 70s. I have a difficult time climbing stairs, and it isn't possible for me to sit on bar stools or chairs at high tables. After making a reservation through Open Table, we arrived at 5:20. The restaurant was empty. We were told that the only tables were a high top table, the bar or upstairs. They were not able (or willing) to make accommodations for us at any of the conventional tables, which we were told "were reserved for the band." You can see the length of the staircase and the height of the seating they offered. It is unlikely that we'll return, at least not for dinner.

ABSOLUTELY the Best Burger I've had in a very long time. We sat with our backs to the fireplace on a very cold day with Family enjoying their "better than average" pub style menu. Casual attire ok, well stocked bar and super friendly service. Great place for a special occasion with special people.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We were greeted and shown to a wonderful seat on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outside was great and beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Greek soup, smoked Mac n cheese, and a beef gyro platter. Everything was great. Our drinks were also good. Nick served us and was an awesome waiter. Friendly and polite.

Nice outdoor and indoor eating section. Massive lunch menu, honestly kind of surprising they didn't scale back. The gyro platter was good but massive. Crab cake was pretty good as well. Grilled chicken on the salad was great and the dressing was decent. Would come back here again. Also seems like a Good spot for a happy hour.

Gyro. The most unauthentic Greek gyro known to man. It was petrified beef about 1/4 inch pieces. Unedible. Disgusting.

The entrance had dead plants. 3. The interior entrance looked like it hadn't been mopped in years. 4. The interior needs a dusting and mopping. Christmas decorations are still up. 5. Service is terrible. Slow. Inattentive. Never refilled our water glasses. Never received the pita bread and dips usually offered. 6. Food was blah. No flavor. No seasoning. Gigantes were undercooked. Prasini salad had no salt. Lemon potatoes were hard. Chicken was flavorless and so was the spanakopita . 7. When the owner Maria is not there, don't go. Everything is not okay.

However, Ive head it does tend to bring in a decent crowd during busier hours and I can understand why! We ordered the saganaki appetizer and individual meals. Saganaki - this is a fried cheese of sorts. It has a very mild flavor that comes to life with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. The menu mentioned they typically flambe it at the table, but the waiter advised they no longer do this. It would have been nice to experience, but regardless it was quite enjoyable. I would say you probably would need to be a cheese lover to enjoy this app (which I am)! Lamb burger - I ordered it well done and it was absolutely delicious! Really great flavor. I enjoyed it with a side of fries, and it came with a lovely side of Greek salad, tzatziki, and pita. Overall, I was happy with our experience! It's a great place to come for good food and warm vibes!

Even the regular gyro, which smells wonderful, doesn't taste out of the ordinary. Avgolemono soup did not really have lemon. On the plus side, the lemon potatoes were a hit all around. + The spanakopita was crunchy crust with soft interior. ---------- The rice pudding, in my mind, had no flavor and was overstuffed with gigantic overcooked rice. The worst I've ever had. Yet the rest of my family seemed to like it?! So I just can't even. I'm not eating here again but I won't fault others who do. It's a choice, you like what you like, and again, the service was very friendly to us. But I will keep going the extra miles to Thavma in Livingston for my high quality taste.

Falafel platter with soup, fries and came with a pita. (2/5) Pita was SO HARD and stale like when you microwave a piece of bread too long. Falafel was ok but borderline frozen vibes. The fries were also soggy so maybe not the best for takeout. Soup was piping hot and tasted ok but thicker than I expected and the orzo and chicken were overcooked. So sad. Lamb-beef gyro pita (2/5) Meat was overcooked and again the pita was hard as a rock.... Sadly for the price just not worth it. We have other options in Fairfield and beyond for more quality.
