Upon arrival as first-timers, my partner and I were greeted by the owner at Taverna Mykonos and got a table for two right away in the corner where the tables are close to each other inside their cozy, very dim-lit, and elegant dining room with Christmas music playing throughout. There's a full bar with an extensive selection of Greek wines, with approximately 80% sourced from regions across Greece, as well as other excellent choices from California and Spain. The menu featured both authentic traditional Greek dishes along with many other options. The restaurant bakes all of its bread as well as its desserts. Traditionally, the meat of choice served during a Greek Christmas meal is lamb and pork. For starters, we decided to share Keftedes (Greek-style seasoned meatballs served with tzatziki dipping sauce). For our main meal, we opted for Baby Roasted Lamb with roasted potatoes and Lamb Shank with tomato orzo. Complimentary bread started our meal, and we washed it down with a sparkling spring water product of Greece. Complimentary cookies were given to each table at the end of the meal. The food was fresh, using quality ingredients, tasty, and well-presented. We enjoyed the keftedes very much, as they were moist and complemented well with the tzatziki dipping sauce. The portion was reasonable. However, we were disappointed with the Baby Roasted Lamb, as it was mostly bones with only some pieces of edible meat. Service is professional, friendly, and fast.
