Most of my reviews are 4-5 stars, so it pains me to write this one. In spite of some of the reviews we saw (quite mixed) we decided to try it. We'd been driving all day and wanted to go walking distance from our hotel, so options were limited. We wanted a nice dinner, a cocktail, a nice steak. Walked in, the hotel is pretty deserted, as is the restaurant. We had a super nice waitress. I was hoping for a really good classic martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Nope, no olives, so we ordered enjoy Manhattans, but had to fish the stemless cherry from the bottom of my glass with a fork. Husband ordered a strip steak, medium rare, which came out perfectly cooked. I ordered the filet, medium rare, which came out soft with a bloody red hot center, grossly undercooked. It was returned to the kitchen. Came back much the same. They then re-ordered my entire plate, which took 15-20 minutes to come back, but edible at last. They did take finally take it off our bill. Does that make up for the fact that my husband ate his entire dinner before I got my meal? No, not really. Wine pours were quite generous. They really tried hard to make things right. Came to stay at the Embassy Suite and lucked up on dinner at Cyrus located inside the hotel. The restaurant was kinda of empty except for people at the bar there was only one other group seated not far from us. I ordered a chicken dinner and a salad while my husband had fried chicken sandwich with French fries. They give you a nice portion of food and everything was delicious. My chicken had an amazing tasting glaze over it that was soo good! Our server was really nice and friendly. The restaurant is very cozy and not too noisy either. There were several things that went wrong with my visit last night. First off, the salad and steak were prepared at the same time (as told to me by the waitress) but salad brought out while dinner sat in the back getting cold. Dinner sowed up and my loaded baked potato didn't have any butter or sour cream, ice cold. The steak was alright but not even warm. Then I was informed that the credit card machine was down and had been down how almost a week. Why didn't anyone say anything before hand. It cost me an extra $4.00 to go over and use their ATM machine so I could give them cash. I told them due to the extra expense that they should comp dessert. The waitress agreed and shortly after that a rather large cook approached me and asked what the problem was. I think he was sent out to intimidate me...lol I hadn't been rude, wasn't yelling at anyone, so why the extra hostility from this company. After I told him about the problems so far he agreed to the free dessert and went to the kitchen to retrieve it. I won't be going back and giving these screw ups another chance! read more

The serving sizes for bowl of soup and wedge salad are giant. The lobster bisque was very good, the wedge salad had very green crisp lettuce, nice amount of crisp bacon and perhaps too much blue cheese pieces. Glass of 14 Hands Merlot, decent amount of wine for $10. Great food. With tip, $36 The "but" is understaffed waitstaff and hostess. This restaurant is located inside the Embassy Suites hotel. Not very many diners, so establishment seems to have decided to only have one waitperson. And no hostess, at least on weekdays. Many diners walked in as if it was "seat yourself" because no one was at the entrance to seat you. Also, the poor waitperson was running ragged as we were spaced just far enough of arriving, that there was always one or more table waiting for something. The other point of discontent, this type of menu should be accompanied with awesome warm baguette and butter. They don't serve bread unless requested. I asked, and quickly understood why they don't just serve it, it is nothing more exciting than dinner rolls you would buy in the supermarkets bread aisle. I'm staying at the Embassy Suites several days, I asked how the short ribs were. They sound really good, so I may try them out later in the stay. Update - a few days later I returned and ordered the French Onion soup. It was ok. I'm accustomed to having the top of the soup being covered with melted cheese. They prepare French Onion Soup with just a crostini and a small amount of cheese. If you are ordering soup, I recommend the lobster bisque, far superior than the onion soup. read more

Took my wife for a date night. We were the only ones in the restaurant (2-3;at the bar). Kevin seated us promptly, taking our drink orders and giving us a chance to look over the menu. Selection of steak cuts were limited, but looked and sounded very appetizing given the choices of demi-glaze for each cut. I opted for the 14 oz ribeye, and my wife the 8 oz sirloin. Both steaks were perfectly prepared (mine with the recommended bourbon glaze, my wife's with the herb butter). The steaks were tender and juicy and required little effort with our strak knives. The sides were great too - my wife opting for the mac and cheese and fried okra, and the mashed potatoes and salad for me. All of the vegetables tasted fresh an not from frozen Sysc-esque frozen food service stock. We ended the meal with the Rockside brownie sundae, which was delicious. The service was great. Kevin took excellent care of us by: * allowing us to choose our seating, * making great suggestions regarding food choices and sauce selections, * and keeping our drink glasses filled promptly. EXTREME kudos for agreeing to let us keep the iced tea pitcher at the table - I know that's a big faux-paux (sp) for many, but a real + for me as I can go through tea REAL fast). Toward the end of our meal the restaurant began to fill with what we assumed were guests of the hotel, and we began to really appreciate the opportunity we had to enjoy most of our date in our own private dining room. My only constructive thought was that the dining area lacked a sense of intimacy. It was very clean and welcoming, but maybe considering the price-point, the lights could be dimmed a bit and some soft music playing in the background - just a few things to make a clear separation from the well lit and incredibly spacious hotel lobby. All I had were the fries and Pork Belly Sandwich, but man was it delicious! The sandwich was huge; the meat was tender and the deli ham (wasn't sure about that) made it tasty. Fries were steak fries, but a smaller versions. They weren't the ginormous ones with zero flavor. Instead, they had a different size, crispy outside and were seasoned timely because the salt/pepper flavor was delish. For a last-minute order (got it in just before the restaurant closed at 11p), they didn't skimp and delivered a quality meal at the end of the day when I really needed it. Staying at the Embassy for work this week and decided one night I would get room service. Call down and was told they were very busy. I was told that there was a wait but I should get my food in 30 to 45 minutes. Totally understanding. I ordered a wedge salad and a side of brussel sprouts. Nothing too crazy. An hour goes by and I start to wonder where my food is. Wait another 15 minutes and finally call. It's about 8:30pm now at night. The person answers and I ask when I can expect my food and they answer how busy they are and it should be another 15 minutes. I think dang why so long for a wedge salad? Finally get my food and I go to sign for the bill and I would have thought they would have taken a little off for the inconvenience... nope. Working late I decide this time I'll go to the restaurant to eat. Standing there for the longest time to get seated I am about to change my mind and a lady walks up. Can I seat you? Yes, thank you. Waitress comes over and I ask for a wine and find out the lady that sat me gave me a old list. Ugh I think. The waitress was very quick to get me another list. Mind you the restaurant was not that busy either this night and it was a Thursday. The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is the waitress did an okay job and the food was pretty good. Overall an underwhelming experience. Went there for dinner with work colleagues. The restaurant is nice inside but the food was ultimately lacking for any restaurant, let alone for the price of a hotel steak house. Appetizers: Mushrooms stuffed with cheese and bacon. 4 large stuffed mushrooms. They had melted cheese on top which was hardened and cooled by the time they were delivered. It makes me think they were pre prepped and left to sit from earlier in the day. The flavor was lacking. The calamari was lightly breaded and good for calamari. Crab cakes as one person at the table said, I can tell these came from a can. Everyone agreed. Mostly breaded filling with very little flavor. They came out warm not hot. All of the appetizers arrived extremely fast after ordering. Everyone got the impression that things were not cooked up fresh for our table. I had the chicken fried steak as my entree. It was actually the favorite for everyone. The steak was good and the gravy was flavorful. Unlike the plain side salad that came with the dish. ( I would suggest they add some cheese, or croutons, or onion) something more then lettuce, 3 cherry tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber. Others had: Ribeye: Good, but nothing great was the response. Miso glazed salmon: Easily the worst dish at the table. The salmon was fishy and a very small portion. The person eating it only ate 1/2 of it. Another had the Filet. I didn't get to ask how he enjoyed it. If you have a car, I would recommend going elsewhere. If you are eating here, skip the appetizers. read more

The steaks go from a sirloin at $25 up to a T-Bone for $33. These come with a salad and two sides, as well as a basket of bread. Unlike some, they were more than happy to prepare my ribeye "rare" and it was perfect. Decent service with a few bottled beers and a reasonable list of wines. Sadly, they no longer stock horseradish. A-1 and Heinz 57 are okay, but they're not nearly as good with a steak. read more

The staff all seem to disappear quite often, I don't know if the waitresses are having to cook the food or what but it was very common for them to be gone 10 min at a time. I'm not going to gripe about the service, the woman who waited on us was amazing. She was fast, prompt and apologetic. The people cooking on the other hand... well they absolutely could not cook a steak to save their lives nor could they follow directions on a order. For instance when you ask for no aioli or sauces or anything other than meat and bacon then it should come with literally meat, bread and bacon. When returned to the kitchen to have it fixed and it comes back with more on it ... well that's just complete lack of being able to follow directions. Steak when asked for a medium well should not have blood oozing from it at all. All in all I would not return back because it's FAR to over priced for the bad kitchen service. read more

Location, location, location. This was the perfect place to dine tonight as it is inside the Embassy Suites I'm staying in and I barely had enough motivation to put my pants back on and go for food. The coupon for free cheesecake they gave me at the desk when I checked in cemented the deal. In general, the food was average. French onion soup wasn't very good, the salad was decent, the complimentary bread was quite good, and the chicken fried steak was very average. I felt the prices were on the expensive side, especially for a restaurant in a hotel with fairly inexpensive rates. My service was good. Ate here after an exhausting day. I would say this is a solid "in-hotel" restaurant. Service was great and very friendly, the wine selection was short, but great value and the food was good, and honestly a good value (though I am used to East Coast prices). I had the 16 oz T-bone, which was $34. That may seem high, but it did come with a soup or salad ($7 value) as well as 2 sides (I had asparagus and rice). The tequila-lime soup was absolutely fantastic - and a nice sized bowl vs. a teeny cup as you might expect. The steak was nice. Dry aged for 28 days, it was as expected - melt in your mouth delicious. The strip side was part of my reason for the 3 stars - good, but not great. The tenderloin side was... well - I wish it had been a porterhouse because it was out of this world. Environment was a little claustrophobic and stuffy for an Oklahoma steak house, another reason for 3 stars. Overall, if you are staying at the hotel, feeling lazy and want a good meal at a decent price - eat here. The first time I had the salmon which was very good and the second had a steak which I thought was also very good (although both times the dinner blew my expense account). The service was very good that's the only reason for the 2 star, I ordered a New York strip and received a ribeye now I don't mind a ribeye but it was only about 1/2" thick and tasted about the equivalent of a fast food hamburger. Fabian is the new food and beverage director (since February) and he has absolutely taken the standards up. I stay at the Embassy Suites couple times a month. Eating here is easy! I've never had a problem with service. Always arrived around 5:30-6 and never had to wait. Got the chicken fried steak and was very good. Prior stay got the flank steak. Asked for medium but was little more then that. Although the happy-hour lobby is quite well patronized by what appears a never-ending convention of truck drivers and oil drilling ( why, in the age of solar energy ) roughnecks, Cattleman's cavernous dining room was empty at dinner hour, despite a "special" prime rib night. Caesar salad comes as a side dish of watery romaine, soggy croutons saving a tight spot on the small plate for a thimble of bottled dressing, and the rest, since you might be hungry because no bread will be served, will be equally unpalatable and uniformly tasting greasy-spoon-industrial. Nothing much for other options within a reasonable distance unless you have a plane ticket for a more gastronomically oriented city. I suggest New York. , read more

The restaurant was fairly empty when we were seated, but it was early in the evening (around 5:30). Our hostess/waitress was extremely pleasant and made the meal more enjoyable. My wedge salad was flavorful, but had too much blue cheese dressing which made it soupy at the end. My ribeye was ordered medium rare, and was probably a touch overdone, but not a very thick steak so hard to keep the proper temperature. Steak came with choice of potato (had mashed which were fine but nothing special) and vegetable (asparagus in my case which was a little under cooked). Food all tasted good, suggested Cabernet from the short wine list was priced well and added to the meal. Alright for a hotel bar/restaurant, but a little pricey. If you don't already know, this place is inside the embassy suites. Ate here on a Thursday night after being too tired to venture out of the hotel. Service was pretty attentive, chicken fried steak was good, iceberg wedge was solid. Draft beer is limited to an IPA (at the time) and 2 domestics, but they do have more by the bottle. I get a little nervous when restaurants are dead, but nothing seemed precooked or anything like that. In the land of steaks and BBQ, I would probably recommend exploring the area, but it'll do in a pinch. Each table in the atrium area has its own tv if you are into that. Had a slice of cheesecake.
