On yesterday my brother and I decided to try this Food Truck Because they are extremely packed and, you always see the smoke coming from the truck. I ordered the extra large rib tips with collard greens and Mac for my sides. My brother ordered Turkey wings, with collards and Mac and cheese. Now the service was great , cashier took our order we both got our foods . The rib tips were delicious, very tender, cut up correctly. However the mac n cheese was very dry not cheesy or seasoned and the collard greens were straight out of the can into a warmer with huge stems. Now I understand this is a Bbq food truck but the sides are horrible. They turkey wings were seasoned good but tough to eat . I try to be fair with that being said if I decide to purchase anything again it will be rib tips only. read more

The food is pretty good. It's not the best. The turkey wings could've been slightly more seasoned and the macaroni and cheese had a tanginess that was likely driving by a use of mostly sharp cheddar instead of some intermixture of mild cheddar. The green beans were good. The peach cobbler was decent but the I was not a particular fan of the crust. Parking is free and ample. You have about a 15-20 minute wait it seems for just above every order. I do feel like the food for what you get is a little bit overpriced. The Arnold Palmer was delicious. So I went here for the first time 8-16-2025. My mom stays across the street around the corner from this place. I meant to stop by previously only reason I didn't was because of the line at the time. You can expect that from a place with good food though. The sides and cornbread taste like home cooking along with the leg quarter bbq chicken that I got. Only one suggestion is that the cook on the grill keep a eye out for the chicken on the grill so that the leg skin and thigh bottom doesn't get charred. Reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars. This place is what I was looking for! Food is good and service was good. I got the 3 Meats (Beef Ribs, Turkey Wing and Pork chop (thick cut )) with 2 small sides, Macaroni and cheese and Dressing plus a large lemonade with Green Apple mix. Meats were cooked perfectly! This BBQ is TOP tier. I had such a great experience visiting here with my cousin. The food is fresh and made to order so don't come in a rush. Good things come to those who wait :). While I was there for the ribs and they were amazing, the smoked pork chop was a surprise hit for me. It was so good and flavorful. We tried everything without sauce first but the BBQ sauces were also really good. The baked beans are also a must have. They were amazing. The Mac and cheese we could've done without but all the other sides we had we enjoyed. We sat and ate in the outdoor seating area which was nice on a warm day. I really wanted to like this place. I got it through Grubhub delivery and I really had a taste for some good bbq. I got the rib tips w man n cheese and dressing. Man was I disappointed in all three items. But mac n cheese was almost inedible. It had a sour taste and a funny consistency. The dressing had a yellow gravy on it. WTH! And was bland. After returning from my vacation, I needed some home cooked food. I decided to stop my CZ Smokez BBQ and was glad I did. I ordered the Rib Tips, Collard Greens and Mac N Cheese. My sister ordered the Pork Ribs, Collard Greens and Mac N Cheese. The meat was smoked to perfection, tender and could be eaten with or without the sauce. The Collard Greens were seasoned to perfection. The Mac N Cheese left me wondering why in the hell I didn't get two orders. OMG!!! If you haven't tried them you're missing out. So first want to acknowledge that this place has great reviews for their ribs so I plan on trying the ribs next time. With that said, my husband and I had a wings craving and wanted to support other bbq joints nearby so we saw CZ Smokez and they had good enough reviews plus their wings were very reasonably priced. The wings are average sized and dark meat, which is what I prefer but my husband wasn't a fan. However, we agreed that they were tasty. The spicy lemon pepper definitely had some kick to it, so another plus in my book. However, everything else fell flat. The crinkle cut fries were dry and absolutely no flavor which is a shame. The banana pudding was simply below average and tasted very generic. Overall, not giving up on this place because the ribs look good and the reviews sound absolutely yummy. Baked beans - solid 9, they were absolutely incredible. Ribs were a 4 - absolutely horrific. Super tough and no meat on the bones, easily some of the worst ribs I've ever eaten. Mac and Cheese - a 7, decent but nothing special. Smoked spicy sausage - 8, pretty decent and I would get again. Hope this helps. read more

Great hole in the wall bbq spot everyone in the Atlanta/Castleberry Hill area should try. The look of the place will throw you off but the food is amazing. Ribs and wings were both great and i finally had some Mac and cheese that's actually good. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Yet another restaurant I discovered on Postmates due to Covid. Most BBQ I've tried in the ATL hasn't hit on all cylinders. Maybe their meat is good but the sides are mediocre. Maybe they have great ribs but the sauce sucks or their pulled pork tastes like it came from a can. Well EVERYTHING I had from here is delicious. First let me say the food here is AMAZING. I had the spicy sausage with Mac and cheese and it was some of the best barbecue I've had in Atlanta. Even the French frys were above average. My only issue i have with Smokez is the wait time and slow service. Although the restaurant is carry out only and extremely small, they do Grubhub, Ubereats, and doordash (on top of regular customers). I ordered a simple single person order and waited over an hour. Multiple grubhub orders came in, waited 30 minutes, then cancelled their orders because of how long it was taking. Then while you're waiting for your order it's extremely hot and cramped inside (which made everyone more irritable). I would return and definitely would recommend this restaurant to others, but don't go unless you're willing to wait read more

I was starving on a Friday, gave CZ Smokez a try on Doordash and I'm not mad about it. Ordered four whole fried wings, with spicy bbq sauce. They do not drench their wings in sauce, and I didn't realize it was going to be a battered fried (I'm not from the south so I go to old school fried wings in my head), the wings were winner. Four was more than enough and the meat came right off the bone, still crispy and the sauce was on point. Got a side of bbq beans - theirs are canned baked beans doctored with ground beef, peppers and seasoning... which I rather liked - gave me a Grandma / backyard picnic vibe. Also got a side of potato salad... it was not for me, there's pieces of American cheese in it and a vinegary, dill pickle, yellow but not mustard kinda thing that I just didn't like. That was the only part I didn't care for. I got some extra sides - the coleslaw was good, not sopping wet and not super sweet and some nice color too! The collards... man you have a sinus thing going on.... these puppies were spicy and nice chunks of smoked turkey in there. When I first staretd eating at CZ Barbeque, the food was great. Nice portions of Barbeque and fresh fish and sides was to die for. However recently, their barbeque portion have been much smaller; so small that you leave feeling diasppointed and cheated. Their fish is not fresh( prepackaged) and lamb chops leave a lot to be desired. Oh and their German chocolate cake taste like cake from a box. Managment has a nonchalant attitude and if you complain to them about the food, it's almost like their don't care one way or the other.
