Okay, so I saw this place on Instagram and made it a point to check it out when I got here. I won't dwell on what wasn't available on the menu. We visited on a Tuesday, which is wing day, and ordered the BBQ and lemon pepper wings--both were great. The service was excellent. The owner and I even had a nice conversation after I mentioned I traveled from Seattle just to try the spot. I was sooo glad that I finally caught this place open. I've been trying to go on Sundays & sadly there are NOT open on Sundays. Food: Was Oh my God! The bomb. I was absolutely impressed by this black owned business. My food was cooked to order and was absolutely amazing. 10 out of 10.

I was unfortunately underwhelmed with the food. Had the garlic parm turkey leg which was overly charred which made the bark extremely bitter . In addition, it was dry, chewy and way too salty. I did not taste any garlic or parmesean. For the sides, I had the baked beans which were ok as well as the green beans (a bit better). The muffins were dry & the cinnamon was more prevalent than the sweet potato flavor. Lastly, ferl free to skip the pineapple frozen drink. Opt for the regular lemonade. Not a good first time experience but I will try them again for a shot at the wings in another flavor. Not too soon though. All in all, with the purchase of the hotdogs, my bill was $63.80 (15% tip included. I can count many places to spend that type of money for a much more satisfying meal. I support and intentionally patron black owned businesses but sometimes it is so frustrating when the service is consistently inconsistent! My son and I drove from Sandy Springs to Riverdale (45min ride each way) just to try out this place based off a social media review. We arrived at 1:30 pm today (Thursday) and the restaurant was closed. The hours on the door stated open 11:30am to 8pm Tuesday-Fri and closed from 3pm to 4pm, last order at 2:50pm. So arriving at 1:30 we expected to patron the business and place an order right, NOT! We went back to the car and was searching for another place in the area since we drive so far, we noticed the woman gestured for another customer to come to the door and she opened the door to let him in. So my son walked back up to the door thinking they opened for everyone, again NOT! The other guy walked back out with an order and she told my son that they weren't open and wont reopen until 4pm with no explanation. Left very disappointed for wasting gas and time, never again!!!!!! read more

I I drove approximately 55 minutes to visit this location today because all available information online indicated that the business was open. Unfortunately, when I arrived, there was a sign on the door stating that the business was closed for the day and would reopen tomorrow. No one answered the phone, and there was no prior notice online to indicate the closure. I understand that unexpected situations can happen. However, when a business needs to close during normal operating hours, it is extremely helpful for customers if that information is updated across digital platforms such as Google, phone voicemail, and other online listings. Many customers rely on these sources before making the trip. Driving nearly an hour only to discover a closure upon arrival was disappointing and inconvenient. I hope the ownership will consider updating online hours in real time when closures occur, as it would greatly improve the customer experience and prevent others from making an unnecessary trip. read more

A friend had been eyeing Turkey on the Loose on social media, so we gave it a shot. The sides, dirty rice and green beans, were great... but the Turkey leg was just ok to me. I had the sweet heat. I liked the sauce, but the actual meat didn't really have any flavor. I didn't gather any seasoning or that good smoked taste. It was tender though. Lemonade was cool... very sweet. I haven't written a review in a while, if ever, but today was too disrespectful. I attempted to support a black owned business today called Turkey on the Loose. As a black man, I feel it's important to support our community. As a black man, I was appalled and disgusted at the treatment I received from a black sister who was the co owner by the name of Shay I believe. I've never been so disrespected on my life for simply asking question about the menu. I walked in close to @2, and I noticed they have a short close time of 230. It was my first time there, so I had questions about the menu, like how is the turkey stufffed and what it was stuffed with, if any of the flavors had a a dry or wet rub on it when they smoke it , etc. Instead of talking to me , she very rudely said "Everything is on the menu , just read it ." I asked a young lady who had just ordered the same questions as she had just ordered what I was asking about, and she had no problem explaining it. Shay, the co owner who was taking orders , rudely said "When you make up your mind let me know " and walked away. Being that it was my very first time, I felt rushed and unwanted as a customer. When I asked about the flavors, she said @Just read it, " and walked off. When she came back, I asked about the leg/w 2 sides combo as it came with a drink. I asked if it was a different price without the drink , because I drink water mostly, and she said she had to ring it up to see, and it came out to be $8 more than the combo. When I asked why it rang up more , she said " That's the price without the stink so it's separate. I can't tell you how much to spend, I don't know how much money you got to spend ," which wasn't even the issue at hand. I said "Maam I'm sorry but it's my first time here , and I'm trying to support a black business." She replied rudely "I can't spend your money for you, I don't know how much money you have." When I asked about the menu again , like what the turkey was stuffed with seafood pasta or Mac and cheese, she repeated "Just read the menu , it's all there ." I asked if the flavors were just sauces or an actual seasoning and she got upset. I asked her if she was the manager, and she replied that she was one of them , then said "Let me go get the other manager for you so they can talk to you bc I'm done talking to you, I don't even want to serve you ." Thays when I said "Ok maam, it's my first time here but I will be writing a review." The comment about the review I believe pissed her off bc when the manager /co owner came out, she said to her "And since you want to THREATEN be with a review , I don't even want serve you as a customer." Mind you, ALL I did was ask questions about the menu. I did not yell. I did not curse. I did not raise my voice. I did not call anyone out their name. I asked about jerk seasoning. I asked about stuffed turkey legs. I asked about the price with or without a drink. And because I asked for management I wa ls asked to leave. I pulled by phone out to make a call, and bc she thought I was trying to film her she told me to leave again and get off the property. THE OTHER co owner Just shook her head in disgust. I felt sorry for the other co owner, who attempted to resolve the issue as she was confused as to why she was even called to the front. She said "Let me make it right," and that's when the other owner said she didn't even want to serve me. We were both confused bc I had not been rude , disrespectful or combative...I simply asked questions about seasoning . I've never been so disrespected at a restaurant as a black man, let alone by a black woman. Shay, the co owner, is by far THE RUDEST restaurant owner I've ever encountered. Your livelihood depends on repeat customers and word of mouth, mine does not. You will not be in business long if you keep treating customers like this . I will be sure to tell EVERYONE i know, from Fulton Country schools, to my fraternity to my colleagues and friends not to support you. You have ALOT of competition on the turkey industry, I need you to know this. When I called Turkey Time for the first time last week to support, Iwas greeted with a jovial greeting as the brother answered the phone saying " ITS TURKEY TIME, TURKEY TIME TURKEY TIME, it's TURKEY TIME. He answered everything I asked by phone and they aIso did in person. You have competition, and they are open more hours than you. I ended uo going to golden crust for jerk turkey wings, another competitor of yours if we're talking turkey. I got 2 wings, 2 sides and plantains for $17. You acted as if I upset you by asking menu questions. You act as if it was a privilege to be served there . You need to learn that EVERY customer experience is valuable. This was my first time visiting. The lady in the front was very helpful. I feel like the prices are way too high but I just wanted to try it. I had to try the pineapple tea which I can say was pretty good and not so sweet. My husband had the lemonade and it was sugar diabetes. The turkey legs weren't that bad but I think they should have injected the legs with the flavor that you choose for the outside. But anyway go try for yourself and enjoy. Upon arrival the location was easy to find and visibly close to the street. I appreciate the signage and window decals so I didn't pass it up. The service was fast, accurate, and friendly! There is no indoor/outdoor seating! It's more of a grab and go location so be prepared to either eat in your car if you're like me and drove 35 mins here, or to take your stuff home. I gave them 1 star because we got there 3:30 only to find out that they are closed from 3-4 daily, so once we got in to order the young lady says to everybody we will take your order, give you a ticket and it will be about 40 minutes before your order is ready.
