I made candles with my mom, mother-in-law, and adult daughter on a Saturday at noon. The shop is easy to find and there was plenty of parking right along Tyler Street. (It was a Mother's Day gift for my mom and M-I-L.). The place is decorated super cute with twinkling lights and the sessions are reasonably priced at $35. We arrived a few minutes early; and the door was locked until about 12:05 when we had a 12:00 session scheduled. (This was one of the only drawbacks because it was about 90 degrees out on a Saturday at noon.). Once we were let in; things went really smoothly. We picked our scent combination and some dried flowers. Kerykay explained each step carefully and we all chose different scents, flowers, and colors of wax. The entire process only takes about 60-90 minutes. There were lots of board games we could have played while we were waiting; but we decided to go to lunch instead and come back in about an hour when our candles would be ready. Our candles were ready when we returned, but again we had to ring the bell multiple times & actually call by phone before we were let in. It seems to be a one-employee operation. I do think everyone was happy with their finished products so I would recommend Kerykay Candles if you're looking for a unique outing in South Florida.

The texture and flavor of the bread was impeccably fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with blueberries perfectly balanced so that it wasn't overly sweet but still had that delicious fruity taste in each bite. I would absolutely recommend this farm to anyone looking for locally made sourdough. My daughter was sitting in a different aisle trying on heels and had left the shoe box nearby. An employee approached her and said, "I'm assuming you lost the box to those heels." The way it was said strongly implied that my daughter was doing something wrong or potentially stealing, when she was clearly trying on heels. When I approached and joined the conversation, the employee immediately changed her tone and began explaining that many people steal from the store and that customers are required to bring the box with them when trying on shoes. Had she simply explained the store policy from the beginning, there would have been no issue. My daughter was embarrassed and offended by the assumption that was made about her. It felt like she was being profiled rather than assisted as a customer. After I addressed the situation, the employee quickly tried to downplay what she had said instead of acknowledging how her approach came across. I understand that retail employees have to be vigilant about theft, but there is a respectful and professional way to communicate store policies without making customers feel accused or uncomfortable. This employee could benefit from additional training on customer service and how to approach situations like this without making assumptions. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting shopping trip for my daughter's graduation turned into an upsetting experience.
