Stand up business, honest people! I brought an emerald ring in for a stone replacement. The ring had 4 genuine emeralds originally, one had fallen out and was lost. They replaced the stone with a lab created stone. Apparently they misunderstood what I was looking for regarding the stone replacement. They were apologetic, ordered a new genuine emerald, and replaced at no extra charge. Will be bringing them more repairs. read more

I took in a bunch of jewelry to be repaired 2 bracelet , an anklet, my husband's necklace and to have my late mother in law's ring that she wore all the time resized to fit me and to have a charm cleaned. When I was there I also ordered some spacers for my charms. I was told two weeks. I thought that was good luckily it was ready early. When we went to pick up the jewelry I can't tell you how happy we were done with the work. I am so happy that we have found them. They are inexpensive, professional and so friendly. BEWARE! From someone who just moved into the neighborhood looking for a good local jewelery store to hopefully get some watches and jewelry fixed, this will definitely be my first and last time doing business here. I dropped off a second hand Seiko watch to get a new glass piece replaced and a polish to remove the scratches on the band, and was told to come back in a week when it should be ready. After a couple of days I had to call the store to get an estimate for the cost of repair, which they forgot to provide and they did not even know what repairs were needed thinking I had come in for a battery change. When I was quoted a price it just seemed like they were unconfidently making up a number amount on the spot that was convenient or sounded good to them. I came back after 2 and a half weeks to pick up my watch thinking they have had plenty of time to find the pieces they needed for the repair and have my watch ready, but when I came back for pick up, the staff was not able to locate my watch thinking it was lost, and they had to call the repair tech to see if they had it in their possesion. It turns out it's indeed under their possesion because they are still looking for the glass piece needed for my repair. I was again promised it would be done in 3 days. Wouldn't you know it, I went back 5 days later, and the watch is still missing, not fixed. I was told by a staff member that the reason it is taking so long is not only because their watch repairman is old and slow (their words, not mine) but also because they are apparently trying to locate this very rare piece of glass for my watch that is difficult to find (really, a rare glass piece for a crappy Seiko watch? Imagine if this was for a high end luxury Rolex watch needed on a specific date for a special occasion). They said if it's not done by the next day, they offered to give me back my watch so that I can take it to another store. If this would allow me to write a review giving zero stars, I would. A total waste of time, and the unprofessional staff was no help, continuously making up excuses where it just makes them look bad, and seem like dishonest scammers. If you need to get any jewelry fixed, read the bad reviews left on how they handle repairs first, and just know you have been warned. read more

I never had an issue with this place and there usually really good but they skipped me by 2 people today. I went in to get my clasp closed alittle bit and they don't charge for it until he broke it. As far as Kim K.'s review goes, it is an insanely common practice to replace scratched and broken jewels in rings and such, especially if they are very worn out, unless you tell them not to touch the stone. So, yeah, they didn't take it to ruin a keepsake, they switched it because that's what jewelers commonly do. Now that that is covered, my mother and I have been coming to Renee's since 1999, her for her random gold and jewels and whatnot and me for my watches, for repair or cleaning or new ones. They are great with repairs, offer competitive pricing and have never misplaced or damaged out belongings. They totally destroyed the ring, I have to pay to have it put back together and the diamonds reset. It is going to cost me at least $250.00 to have it fixed properly at Beverly Jewelers. I know this jewelry has been around for years, so I went to take my ring to get resized there. When we went to pick it up, my bf asked if the prongs were tight enough, the lady in the front said yes, the jeweler always makes sure it is. So naturally my bf checked to make sure it was true, he barely touched the ring and the diamond fell off. They take the ring back there to eat get it fixed, when they bring it to me again, I noticed there are diamonds on the side missing, by this point the jeweler it's already catching an attitude, and once he is done with putting the diamonds that were missing he comes and throws the ring on the counter. We check the ring once again, and notice more diamonds missing on the other side. The jeweler seemed to be very upset that we kept checking the ring. Went there yesterday. Dropped off my jewelry for repair and ended up buying a few different pairs of earrings. Well the "14 karat gold" earrings they sold me bent and broke. I don't get how gold bends. So I returned in the afternoon and they refused to refund me. I asked for my jewelry back that needed to be fixed and the diamond was completely out of the ring and the ring had a giant crack in it. Don't go to this place. I had brought in a $300 pair of Prada sunglasses when the weld on one of the arms hinges had failed. They said with great confidence that it could be fixed. That was not the case. It seems that they rushed the job after assuring me that they would take their time and do it right. The arm would not open fully, to the point that I could not wear them at all. I brought this to their attention before I left and the man who repaired them shrugged me off (I think he was the owner too). Then instead of taking the soldering off and repairing them properly he just ground down the two sides of the arm so that it would open enough for me to wear them (the arms were made of metal). They are now irreparably damaged and I can't even take them else where to have them repaired properly since there would be a large gap between the frame and the arm. read more
