I hired D & A to install drop shades on my patio and in my driveway. They did a GREAT job. The shades cut down immensely on the heat and also provide privacy. Cindy in the office and Jon, the technical guy, are both friendly, courteous, and responsive. I thought their product was reasonably priced as well. I had an issue this week with some damage from the gusty winds we got a few days ago, and Jon came out today and reinforced all the springs and screws that attach the shades to my awning posts that had been blown out by the strong winds. He did this at no charge, since he said it was under a product warranty. Couldn't have been nicer. Wanted to reinforce they provide a great product and very attentive customer service. We scheduled an estimate for awnings for 8 am. At 8:05 we saw their truck drive past our house. The driver told us that he "wasn't comfortable" on our "narrow" street. (We live in a hilly area of Palm Springs.) We have had literally dozens of contractors, gardeners and delivery people working on our street and at our home over several years. I have a retractable awning that needed repair as it began leaning badly to one side when it was extended out. I was referred to D&A Awning by another local awning company that did not do repairs. When I called, (on a Friday afternoon btw), the young lady who answered was very friendly and allowed me to explain the problem. After checking their schedule, she said that she could have someone out to look at it on Monday between 10 and 12am. I could've been happier. The loose bolt that was causing the awning to tilt could've been catastrophic, had the bolt actually worked its way completely out, so I was thrilled to get such a quick appointment. Two gentlemen arrived the following Monday, very much on time, and assessed the problem. The bolt was missing a cap on one end to keep it in place. Unfortunately they did not have the part with them, so I was ready to be told that it would have to be ordered, that it would probably be coming from China and would take several weeks. Well I couldn't have been more wrong. The technician, Jon, made a call back to his warehouse and asked someone to bring him the cap that was needed to fix my awning. I was totally floored. While they were waiting for the part to be delivered, I asked them to perform a simple maintenance, to lubricate the arms and moving parts, which had not been done in over 10 yrs. They not only lubricated, but also cleaned both arms that had years of dirt and grime built up on them. The part was delivered and installed less than 20 minutes later, and the awning was fixed. I gladly paid the very reasonable invoice and they left. D&A Awning absolutely exceeded my expectations! The retractable awning over my front door was ripped to shreds by a windstorm because I didn't get out to retract it in time. I decided not to replace it with a retractable. D&A had installed a few awnings close by and they looked terrific. I called and they came and measured according to what I thought I wanted with regard to placement. I picked a color that matches the trim around my interior wall and placed the order. After installment I realized that my visual concept was incorrect as I had them install at the same height as where the retractable had been placed. I called and explained my thoughts about it being a bit too high. They came today, lowered it and although I loved it before I love it even more now.
