The apricot crumb square's crumbs were soggy; and the filling, disgustingly sweet. The creme brûlée was mediocre. On the counter was a free sample of a pecan-chocolate ring. There was nothing nearby it to serve yourself with, so anybody wanting a taste would have to pick it up with his or her bare hands. I had to tell the counter person to put out a serving utensil for sanitary reasons. She thanked me for my "good idea". She also told me that she is the daughter of the owner and that the place opened in April. I was the only person in the store. Before I left, I asked the young woman for utensils to eat my desserts with. She gave me a fork, whose tines she touched with her bare hands. I had to tell her that she should not do that. I hope this place gets inspected soon by The Suffolk County Department of Health Service. The bakery would definitely FAIL the critical element of "Good Retail Practices" . I will never visit The Copiague Bakery again. If I never go back there, it would be too soon! If I could give them zero stars, I would!

She helped me organize them when I got to the store and was so patient, kind, and helpful (she also helped me carry them to my car!). I loved the nautical touch with the dune grass, rope, and adorable starfish (the creative Annette touch!). Annette is so crafty, while listening to the customer, understanding the theme, and executing it beautifully. She did everything in such a timely manner, as well. I continue to be impressed with this business and will ALWAYS highly recommend to all. We need more gift wrapping services like this on Long Island. If you are nervous about the virus like me, I felt very safe in this store. All CDC guidelines are being followed (masks, gloves, contactless payments, temperature checks, hand sanitizing, social distancing). But all 6 of the Paczki that I purchased were not filled with enough jelly. It was very disappointing. I was expecting these to be world class donuts. So I drove 30 minutes to see what would warrant a Newsday article. We ate the piece of the donut that had the jelly on it and through out the rest. It just seemed like a waste of calories. I wanted a jelly donut not a glazed donut. They should just charge $1.25 and fill the donut with Jelly. Then it would be a serious donut. The way it is I won't bother to go back for them. The staff was friendly although hard to communicate with. I don't know Polish and she did not really understand English. I might consider getting one of the traditional Polish cakes that they sell. They did look good and probably worth the drive. You will not get them at other bakeries. If you want a Jelly Donut go to the Rolling Pin bakery in Bayshore. You will need a napkin because it is full of jelly.
