I went in to this establishment today and was greeted with utter rudeness. She made it clear that I was bothering her. I simply asked what a certain cake was and I got an eye roll and a sigh before she responded. Then I asked how much of a piece of the cake she can cut (it was a length cake) and she got annoyed again. I've never experienced such rudeness at a bakery. I used to love this bakery and traveled almost an hour to get fresh baked goods but after my most recent visit I am so disappointed. I didn't have company for Easter this year so I decided to get small pieces of few varieties of cakes instead of baking myself and what a mistake that was!! "Szarlotka" (apple cake) was hard as a rock, I don't know what they added to those apples (too much starch?) but it was horrible! " malinowa chmurka" (raspberry cloud) also had too much gelatin and it made it taste like hard jello ( thankfully not as disgusting as the apple cake!) they must've add something to the meringue on top of both because it didn't taste like egg whites and sugar! Poppy seed cheesecake was very dense, flavor was ok but the texture should've been different. The worst disappointment was the bread though! Tasted more like American toast bread instead of polish rye bread. read more

This bakery reminds me of living in Poland - the store looks like it was plucked out of some small town. Lee love multigrain breads and got a few - the spelt bread (orkisz) was so delicious and went well with my breakfast farmer's cheese. We were also tempted by some desserts - the wafers filled with whipped cream (rurki z kremem) brought me back to my childhood. We used to stuff ourselves with them. The location also has some ready food - pierogi, zapiekanki etc. but we did not try any of them as we really wanted some good bread. read more

Eastern European bakery. If you don't speak it, you're at a disadvantage. Point and you shall receive! The bread, cakes and squares they offer are of the best quality. Absolutely delicious and mostly not overly sugary. I have some favorites and I always get a good response back at the hacienda. I actually get something here when I'm making dinner on a big occasion. Never been disappointed! One time I went the woman didn't understand our money, I had to help her get me some change. I felt like I was in a foreign country! It's a good feeling. When in on Saturday and bought all kinds of different things. No one else was there. I asked for rye bread and got multi grain bread. I asked if their cookies were chocolate chip and rugelach and they couldn't tell me. I tried to engage them in a conversation and they were not friendly. The fruit tart was excellent. Everything looked so delicious!! I got a Napoleon type pastry and the other one was a fluffy pink mound of cream between pastry shells- sorry don't know the name but so yummy!! The bread and rolls are excellent and the blueberry muffins are so fresh and light and tasty with big blueberries! The staff is very friendly but they speak polish so it's a little challenging but there are always customers in there who will translate and help-wonderful bakery! read more

If you are looking for Grandmas house, this is the next best thing. Old world bakery with taste of my childhood poppyseed cakes, fresh baked breads and assorted other goodies. Some of the staff spoke English, Polish would help but we managed fine without. Yum. Bakery for take home only. Reasonable prices for delicious goods. Ok so I've never actually been to the bakery itself but one of the produkty/polskie sklep a few blocks away carries their chleb z dusze "bread with soul" which is some of the best bread I've had since I've been in usa... it's a sourdough full of seeds and soy bean; if they do that so well I'd be super shocked if the rest of their stuff isn't excellent as well) read more
