If you want to watch people be humiliated then go here. They are rude, unprofessional, unwilling to admit error and so disrespectful. A woman getting her nails down asked if the older woman doing her nails could see the mistake in the polish. She wasn't overly dramatic about, rude or harsh when she asked her to fix it. The older woman doing her nails obviously scared to upset the costumer then overreacted and made a bigger mess. Yes their was people waiting but the woman was so understanding and willing to have the older woman move on if needed. Then the manager did her manicure, wow! She was RIDICULOUSLY RUDE! I could have given this poor woman a hug I felt so bad for how she was being treated. NEVER again, I don't want my money going to people like this. I suggest going anywhere but here. I asked for the upgraded pedicure. In the description it listed paraffin wax. The leg massage was lackluster and there was no paraffin wax. When I went to pay I only tipped $5 and she said Thank you and then something in her own language. I really find that rude. I will not be back. read more

So full disclosure here . . . I swore I wasn't going to return to this salon. Last June my Sister, Daughters, & I had an appointment for pedicures. We were several minutes late due to school traffic & when we arrived felt really harassed for being late. Then felt like we were rushed through & 'paint' job was not very well done. Fast forward to today . . . I wanted/needed a pedicure & was going to a place across the street. When I walked in they were full up. I didn't have the time to wait so needed to go elsewhere. I also didn't have time to drive down to El Dorado Hills or Folsom, so decided to try City Nails again. Kim was fabulous! I have ridiculously 'yucky' heals and she took the time to get them more smooth than they have been in 12+ years! Amazing! So great! I still can't believe it. : ) Can I give any more accolades? I will most definitely be going back to visit Kim. Now it still says Blossom Salon on the building but is City Nails. I don't know if this is the same owner as last year but even if it is I will see Kim again. I also heard from another client that has been seeing Kim for about 7 years. It also seemed like there were many repeat customers in the slaon. read more

Asked for a full set with a matte finish...I was told they could do it no problem. I was then made to pay $35 full price for the worst manicure I have ever received. My nails look awful, the paint was patchy and the matte finish didn't dry right in places and my nails look blotchy as hell. I'm so disappointed because I spent a lot of money there for an awful job...I want to support local business, I really do, but this place is just not worth it. They can't do matte, they can't do ombré, they are way behind the times when it comes to nails. Seriously people, don't waste your time. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. Walked in sat down for about 5 mins in pedicure chair and then got up and left. Horrible customer service, not sure how they are in business still. They told me that they only do gel on hands not toes because it takes too much time. They only take cash, and they made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them. I recently got my nails filled here for the first time and was pretty impressed. I came here on a whim as I had a broken nail and needed it fixed that day. They said that the wait was 15 minutes and they were true to their word. They had 3 or 4 women working and customers were constantly in and out. Make sure to have cash or a check on hand, as they don't accept cards. The woman who worked on my nails was very thorough - she took the time to make sure they were smooth and not too thick, made sure they were all even, and fixed a couple of parts where the acrylic had chipped. I really appreciate the time she took with me. She wasn't the most talkative, but that doesn't bother me. Their prices seemed comparable to other salons around town that I have been to. read more

The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. I spent the entire time making conversation or giggling at something clever one of the employees said. Most importantly though, my mani and pedi turned out great! That's saying something because i tend to be pretty picky about shape/thickness. I'm so glad to have found my new go to spot. read more

Please avoid this salon unless you want to be humiliated in front of all the customers. I have never been so embarrassed as I was yesterday when Nina, the shop owner, shouted across the room at me "Can Kim work on you now?! She has other customers after you!" I had showed up for my appointment six minutes late, apologized to Kim and asked if I could soak for a few minutes. She didn't answer so I sat there soaking my feet before my pedicure. I didn't think it was a problem since she was finishing up on a lady having a manicure. About five minutes later, Nina shouted across the salon at me in a very annoyed tone. The elderly lady next to me who had fallen asleep was startled awake by her shouting. I should have just walked out. I sat there for the next hour angry and embarrassed. Although I like Kim ,she was so rushed that she filed some of my skin off the top of my toe. Also, there was no leg scrub yesterday and no base coat on my nail polish, which I pointed out. She had only painted one nail, so she took that polish off and put the base coat on for me. I have never had a pedicure that they don't use a basecoat before polishing your nails! Again, she was completely rushed. Normally Kim does a great job. She told me she only has one hour to do my pedicure, but this is not enough time. Normally, you would soak for a few minutes before your pedicure to get the dead skin off easier. I had called earlier that morning to see if I could come in earlier, but Nina said Kim would be busy. After cooling off and giving it some thought, I decided just now to call Nina and tell her what she said to me yesterday was unacceptable. I have seen other people have had this problem with Nina and have left reviews like this on Yelp. She listened to me carefully, but offered no apology. She kept saying that I was late and she only had an hour to do my pedicure, but that wasn't the point. I kept telling her I didn't appreciate being shouted at in front of everyone and that she lost a customer. Again Nina offered no apology and just said, " If you need to go somewhere else that's fine. I'm busy now"! Then she hung up on me! There are other places that have a nicer vibe and do a better job without rushing you. Also you don't need scolding when you're having your nails done. Worst manicure ever. She soaked my hands for 10 minutes while she played on her phone. Then trimmed the dead skin around my nails, painted them very sloppily and charged me $30. I was there for only 35 minutes and she was on her phone the WHOLE TIME! Don't go here, take your money elsewhere and maybe you will at least get close to what is being asked of you to pay. read more

I've never been turned away and I think I had to wait 20 minutes one time. But I just went to starbucks- there are 2 within walking distance. Nina is great but so are the other ladies. The lady with the nail station closest to the window is great. She does any design you want. I just find something on pintrest and she'll make it happen. She's been doing nails for decades. IMHO I should've written this 2 weeks after my original review. The owner is rude, brash & invasive. She yells across the shop at people & thinks she's funny. Usually she's not. I called once & said I'd be late (I was dealing with my Mom who had Alzheimers). I asked if I should show up or reschedule. Owner said, "You show up soon." When I showed up 18 minutes late the owner chewed me out. Then she said, "Well, she (my amazing manicurist) try fix your nails. She no have time to polish you - you late". Then she nags me more. My Manicurist had words with her across the shop. She clearly had time & no issue with doing my nails. It was also clear that she wanted the owner to butt out - who never, ever does. This goes ON & ON while I'm there. The owner is talking LOUDLY to other clients & keeps saying, "We do good job for you - just dont be late" & versions thereof. My amazing Manicurist is almost done. The owner sees that I'm shaking & crying from dealing with my Mom. The owner's BS - which she is *still saying* - is the last straw. Finally (after about 45 minutes of this ****) the owner said something really cold hearted & inappropriate to me. I had had enough. I start getting loud & I tell her, "Being considerate goes a long way - but YOU can't do that, CAN YOU?" "I CALLED & YOU said its NO PROBLEM...and the WHOLE TIME I've been here YOU can't let it go. Do YOU honestly think acting like this is GOOD for business??" I say more about how my Manicurist had no problem with me being late. Now the owner tries teasing me to try to get me all cheery. Then she starts hovering around me saying, "We friends. I tease cuz we friends" & other versions of the same idea. The owner is suddenly trying to kiss my a$$ to fix all of this. Then the owner says, "Sue! Sue! I sorry I really sorry! I polish you! I polish you!" I said, "Ohhhh NOW you say you have time?? Isn't THAT interesting? Whrn I came in YOU said there was NO TIME for it! YOU ARE NEVER EVER working on me. NEVER." My Manicurist yells in Chinese at the owner. She's clearly mad that the owner just cost her a client. Next my woman says to me, "I polish you, not owner. I do!" By now I was SO pissed off that I paid my Manicurist while she was saying, "I so sorry! I so sorry! You mad at me!" I said, "No no no! Its the owner thats awful, NOT YOU... but I WON'T do business here EVER again. I'm sorry but I just won't." My Manicurist keeps saying "You mad at me. I sorry!" I finally got her to understand. I told her that I'd miss her & her work. I tipped her $20, gave her my phone number & blew her a kiss goodbye. The owner is still saying, "We friends. I tease you, you my friend!" I gave her a summarizing hand gesture & left. Obviously, I'll NEVER go back as long as that detestable, loud female owner is there. read more

I'm one of those people who doesn't really love to spend my time or money this way but due to my profession it's necessary!! He got me a gift certificate to City Nails for Mother's Day, and I came in today to get my nails and toes done for the 4th of July...I could not be more pleased with how they turned out! The ladies were so friendly, kind, and pleasant, there were brand new pedicure chairs, and the ladies did a wonderful job on my nails! They look great and festive! So, I tried to cover it up with nail polish... it looked even worse. I went here for the first time tonight because the place I got my nails done before was horrible. I live in Rancho but work in Placerville so I was trying to find a place I could go right after work. My sister came along as well. I got a fill and my sister got a gel manicure. We both had a fantastic experience! Funny and engaging staff, and my nails looked amazing! I'm not a regular by any means but when my wife does convince me to go I enjoy it. Nina is fun and always makes me feel welcome and gives me chocolate. The girls do a really good job with the pedicure which mostly just is a great foot and calf massage. The spa is clean and neat, the manicurists have been there for along time and are very good as well-no change of personnel here! All clients are treated with respect and advised as to the best job for them.They just don't start clipping and plastering the nails...they discuss what you need and LISTEN when you say no-I have very sensitive nail beds and require a very gentle approach-I get it here!! also after a period of time they soak off all old product and start again-something my old shop never advised!!!!! my teenage daughters went in to get their eyebrows waxed. They came home distraught. The lady waxed them uneven and mis shaped absolutely awful. I went to the shop myself and the woman told me "both my daughters faces are crooked" When I asked to take see her license she refused. I was refunded half of the total.
