Nick and Brandon are incredibly knowledgeable, and were able to help me and my sister get off 20 year old skis. They were great at guiding us on close fits, which we demo'd and then gave us very good pricing. They talked through pros/cons of each board and bindings, and were patient and listened/asked good questions. They even are shipping new boards out east. They applied demo rate to purchase. Had come here first 15 years ago with a bad ski needing repair and bring skis to them every year when back in Snowmass for a good tune.

I reserved two mountain bikes from Crested Butte Sports and paid an extra $25 per bike for early…read morepickup so I could be ready for a big ride. Total anticipated bill was $304.50 for the two mountian bikes. When I picked them up, I was shown the Squidlock suspension lockout feature, but when I got home, it didn't work. I called the shop and was told the bike had a known failed Squidlock and they had no replacement available. This is frustrating because the suspension lockout was important for my planned climb on the 401 Trail Loop, and I could have rented from another shop that had fully functional bikes. When I returned the bike and explained my concern, Audi, the owner was defensive, saying most mountain bikes don't have Squidlock (true, but nearly all modern bikes have a suspension lockout). Regardless, renting out a bike with a known failed component without disclosing it is unacceptable. I was only offered $25 off the rental, which did not reflect the impact this issue had on my experience.

From the moment I stepped into the door of Alpine Ski & Sport, I knew I had come to a great place to rent ski equipment. I went early in the morning when they first opened and the girl who was working was very knowledgable concerning the type of equipment I needed to rent that would be perfect for a day on the slopes. They had an extensive line of "like-new" equipment to rent. Once I had selected what I wanted, she made adjustments to the skis to fit my boot. Payment was fast and extremely affordable for a day at Ski Cooper. However, what really sealed the deal on this place for me was that Sara (I think that was her name) was going to sell me a ski lift ticket, but took the time to check the website for a better deal on a ski lift ticket!! Since they were having a better deal if I bought it at the resort, she obliged not to sell me one from their shop!! Who does this? Obviously, Alpine Ski & Sport!! Returning the equipment was equally a "No hassle" deal as well, and the fact that they closed well after the ski resort closed, I had plenty of time to return the gear and spend the maximum time at the resort! If I ever need to rent gear again and am in the area, I would definitely not hesitate to rent from the nice people at Alpine!! Nicely done :)

They are friends with Stephanie, the owner, and boy are we glad we listened to them. She and her team are the cream of the crop. It was a tremendous experience and we really enjoyed coming in each morning and afternoon and just chatting and getting to know the staff. They also don't have the long lines that Christy's, Flatiron Sports, etc. have for rental pick-up and returns. 2019 - I know there are a couple negative reviews from 2 and 4 years ago but we've had a very different experiences. We've been coming to Crested Butte for three years straight and this is one of the best stores in terms of customer service I've ever shopped/rented at. They always go the extra mile. Do yourself a favor and go to a different location. Literally anywhere else. I came in on a Friday…read morenight to pick up rentals and purchase gear. The front cashier failed to activate my lift ticket and when I purchased a ski jacket, another cashier did not remove the anti theft tag. Both issues caused delays the next day. Then one of the boot fitters had explosive anger issues and was completely inappropriate towards my family. That's 3 different staff members who were incompetent and wildly unprofessional. Plus, the gear I rented looked warped and not maintained (ie boot bindings hanging off).
