*New Hollywood Location* When we saw a new Caribbean restaurant in Hollywood we had to give it a try. We visited on a Wednesday night close to closing time, and I must say the customer service was on point. As with any new Jamaican spot I try I stick to the tried and true until I know I can trust it as authentic. So on this Wednesday night we opted for the Stew Chicken and Curry Chicken. While it was good the stew chicken tasted unlike any other stew chicken I've had before. I wouldn't label it as bad just "different". There was something that made the gravy taste oddly like lemon grass and I couldn't put my finger on it. I'm not a big citrus fan in my food but it wasn't bad. The curry chicken on the other hand hit all the right notes of authenticity. The prices were a little higher than I'm used to paying for chicken ($1-$2 more) at other Jamaican spots. We will be back.

Brown Stew ChickenCountry Fried ChickenCurry Goat So Iet me start off by saying I live across the street so I come here often and the food is decent compared to the others in the area. Within the last year they have gone down. The prices are the same and the food portions are half. I noticed people would say something to them and they'd brush it off. But this time I couldn't. Ordered 3 meals on my lunch break I go to check out and notice 2/3 boxes I ask the lady at the counter to see the bag. She gets an attitude and goes you didn't look when they did it. So I get annoyed and say no and take the bag to look. So I tell her it's missing the large country fry. Her and the owner then go to tell me I didn't order it. The lady who shared me out passed it to them and the cashier goes oh so why didn't you tell me this too and gets an attitude. So now I'm over her being loud and wrong and let her know I tried to but since she knew everything and had an attitude she didn't listen to know wtf I was trying to tell her. Had to pay separately for that meal. Didn't get a oh my bad or a sorry. Usually go like 2/3xs a week and spend a good $60 at a time when I go (due to never making it for lunch time since I work 9-5 and having a family of 4) .So guess who is taking their $60 8 mins down the road to Aunt Is for now on :). Atleast the food cost/taste the same if not better and you get more. The owner is real cheap and you can feel when he's around the workers behave so different and all you hear is him telling them they're giving too much food (meanwhile everyone is complaining to them about the cost to portion size). So I get yall stressed price of everything went up and yall got to keep the business going. But like I told the other cashier days ago when someone snapped on her for what I was going through today. To let people know prices of food went I so in return to give yall the quality yall want the price is going to change. People would respect that more. So I wasn't going to say anything about how much food I was given because that not me and I work the hospitality business so I know what mom and pop businesses have to go through so I was glad to have my money going to a Jamaican establishment. But for the way I was treated today along with food quantity (order the same meal 3 days before and tbh the got had a lil less fat this time but the portion size was smaller) def isn't worth it. Rather suck it up and drive the extra mins to pines to go to aunt is or Dutch pot :)

The Snapper was not bad and the girls in front are nice, except for this one awful woman at the register, so rude and abrupt! She had short hair and glasses, sooo rude! Will not return! Shameful

Discovering an elevated Caribbean experience so close to home was definitely a win for summer 2026…read moreshenanigans. We brunched at Kekoon for a birthday celebration. For $60, their brunch offers unlimited drinks and food. I dont know what I expected but the quality and flavor of the food caught me off guard. The Jamaican spread was delicious. From jerk chicken and pork to pepper shrimp, oxtail and dumplings. The pepper shrimp is a must try! Brunch drinks were Bellinis, mimosas, margaritas and rum punch. Pro tip: mix the Bellini with a little rum punch and thank me later Chef Ricardo was an absolute darling, making rounds to our table, to ensure we were ok. I have to mention Michael, the manager, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. He joined in on our birthday celebration and kept the vibe going with birthday shots. The DJ here was also incredible. Spinning hip hop, reggae, dancehall, soca, mixing it just right for the diverseness of the crowd. Hookah was also on point. A bit pricy but well made. The bathroom situation was a little disappointing. Two stalls in the female bathroom with only one working. Hopefully this is not a permanent situation and will be looked at soon. There is lots of free parking around the restaurant. Great food & good vibes

I saw hookah in the garden area and its mention that the brunch is great. I came in for the first time on a week evening for a late dinner. When we sat we noticed that the menu was small and had no prices . Yikes ! Anywho we decided to stay. For drinks we had the lychee dragonfruit margarita 10/10 and Hennessy rum punch 10/10 but they took forever to arrive to the table. For starters we had the lobster fritters which I was imagining something completely different. It was not terrible but I didn't enjoy it. For dinner I had the lobster and shrimp Alfredo pasta which was so flavorful. We also had the oxtail with white rice and plantain which the oxtail was tender and flavorful. Overall the service was a bit slow but the food was fresh and came hot to the table. For was also very good. However it is overpriced for some people as our bill was about $200

She said a few words in patois to the other woman. Next thing I know the other woman started preparing all the sides in a carry out container and then goes to the back for the jerk wings. I didn't leave until 8 o'clock with my order. It wasn't worth the time that I waited. The rice and peas and cabbage were delicious. The wings were dried out, hard and tasted like barbecue chicken instead of jerk wings. I threw them in the trash. Don't even bother putting an order in before cause you're gonna wait anyway. Island Tings in Miramar definitely delivered if you're craving real Caribbean comfort food…read more I ordered the curry chicken and it was exactly what you want from a spot like this. The chicken was tender, well seasoned, and soaked in that rich curry sauce. It came piled over rice with veggies and potatoes mixed in, and the flavors were deep and authentic. You can tell it's the kind of food that's been cooked slow and done right. The portions were solid too definitely a filling meal. Perfect if you're hungry and want something hearty. The restaurant itself has a cool island vibe inside with the beach murals and bright colors that make it feel relaxed and laid-back. The setup is simple cafeteria style, so you move down the line and pick what you want, which keeps things moving. If you're in Miramar and want real Caribbean flavors without the fuss, this spot is worth the stop. Good portions, flavorful food, and a chill atmosphere.
