Had the worst experience with this place. My car was wrongfully towed and I literally beat the guy to the lot. He asked me what car was mine and I explained what happened. He laughed in my face. I called before to ask if they have ATM and they said yes and the other worker watched me try the machine for a few minutes before I approached him for him to tell me it was broken. It still charged my card $6 though despite no transaction made. The signs explaining the price were inaccurate and they overcharged me. I was charged for the storage fee despite me getting there at the same time as my car. The guys made me feel uncomfortable as a young woman being alone and made snarky comments. My car was towed & when i came to pick it up it was in a different location. I was asked to follow a tow truck to the different location, however I had sent my daughter back in because i wanted some documentation of the car being at the tow lot. The man in the tow truck was very annoyed that i hadn't followed him as soon as he had started moving so he left without me. We then had to sit & wait another person to lead us to the other lot. Absolutely the worst towing company imaginable. They towed my car previously and completely damaged the side, they haven't responded to my insurance company after multiple letters, after trying to get me to allow them to fix it in their tow shop for free. And that's nothing compared to the most recent incident. Today I had a medical emergency (rupture in uterus) and I tried to run up to my car as it was being put on the truck. I told the driver what was happening and begged him to allow me to take my car to get to the doctor (needed the medical pads in it to ensure I didn't bleed all over myself) or at least get into the trunk and he laughed and said that it wasn't his problem, and that I should have moved my car on time if I needed it that badly. I called and begged them to ask the guys to let me get into my car as they sat across the street from me and they told me that it again wasn't their problem and they couldn't untow my car or let me in, if I needed something so badly I needed to come pick it up from Allston. When I got to the tow site I had to ask them for a paper towel to help stop the blood, and Debbie signed off by telling me sarcastically that she "hopes I have a better day". When I called her on her cruelty she said "what do you want me to say? That you have a worse day?" and walked away. The also refused to give me any of their insurance information and told me that none of the supervisors would talk to me. Absolutely disgusting. Starting off with saying I was 100% at fault for getting towed. I parked at the bank for a few hours while I went to work, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal because the bank was closed all day. Fine. That being said, I have never dealt with a more inept business. I arrived at the location to pick up my car, while one driver was fast asleep in his truck. He was the only person at the location. When I first called to say I was there to pick up my car, the man on the other end just didn't say anything. I hung up and called back. This time, he said someone would be there in five minutes. Five minutes pass. Then ten. Then twenty. I called again, this time agitated, and the person who answered the phone said he would call "the guy" and hung up. Another ten minutes passed with no word. Finally, I had my dad call, and it's so funny how the second a man calls, they hurry right up, but I'm sure if I had been the one to call again, I would have had to continue being ignored. I had been outside for 45-60 minutes in freezing weather with 30mph winds when someone finally showed up. There was no apology. Despite being a cash only business (as the man told me over the phone), their atm has to be at least 20 years old and it took multiple tries to get it to work. I have never dealt with such rude, apathetic people. You are running a business and consistently get negative reviews, and yet all you do is quickly type "SO sorry about that!!" on every bad review without changing anything. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. I understand being busy, but then tell me that I can wait somewhere else while you're out on other calls, or maybe get the guy that's asleep in his truck to do something. If you want the WORST service for your towing please contact DG. This towing company has damages my car and they will not take responsibility. Below are the pictures. I had the tow driver tell me that it is not their fault when he couldn't even walk in a straight line do to the weight supported by his ankles. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE SERVICE - I was involved in a terrible accident which totaled my car. The car was towed by D&G. I contacted D&G Towing asking if a slip from the police department would be needed to retrieve personal items from the car. Jennifer, answered my call and advised "if picking up the "car" a slip would be needed, however if ONLY retrieving personal items a slip is NOT necessary." When I arrived at D&B tow yard the following day to retrieve my personal items, I was then told by "Jennifer" that a slip from the police department was required. Tony, the manager, then informed me that Jennifer was new, did not know the rules and only on the job a couple days. If this is indeed the case, why is she answering the phones and providing incorrect information without being supervised? Jennifer's lack of training and knowledge should not have become my problem. Being injured, overwhelmed and car-less, I am having to depend on others for assistance and a ride. Hence the reason I initially placed the call. I had to leave D&B Towing in Alston/Brighton, to get the slip from the police department in the South End, only to return to D&B Towing. This is unacceptable and bad business practice to say the least. If you must use a tow company, you might want to try a different place.. A friend and I went to pick up her car after it broke down and was towed here. They gave her an extremely hard time, only take cash and had extremely poor customer service. They acted like giving her a receipt was a hassle even. Then told her the car had to be picked up that day or she would be charged a day of storage neglecting to tell her they were closing at 2pm only an hour from our arrival. They were deeply honest and easygoing (almost as if I knew them personally), with a deep knowledge of the neighborhood, and their customer service was extremely helpful through the whole process. My car was towed for street cleaning (which was totally fair) and the women working behind the counter was fantastic. My issue was with another employee there. While I was in line to pay my fee, a man inside his personal car outside of the tow lot was asking me to come to his car. I refused twice and then he said he can help me out since the line was long. As a women, I am not inclined to go up to strangers cars in the city and as he was not marked as an employee for my safety I chose to stay near the office. He then proceeded to get out of his car and walk into the office. I wanted to write a review because I wanted to warn fellow boston residents of this company. I had gotten my car towed this morning (this was completely my fault). My boyfriend checked on my car before it had gotten towed and it was locked and tidy (as I usually leave it). When I called the shop, they were nice initially. I had realized I didn't have cash on me so I called back to try to organize my payment methods. The front desk worker was angered by a simple question and basically told me I was not getting my car back unless I paid cash (would not explain why). So I walked to my bank and acquired some cash and ubered to the area this garage is in. As soon as I looked into my car, this is what I saw. I am not sure if this was a worker or pedestrian but this is unacceptable. They should be held responsible for the cars in their lot. Essentially, I paid $147 to get berated by an employee and to get all of my belongings thrown around my car. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever witnessed. read more

First they "couldn't find my vehicle" (it's cash-- ie they don't pay taxes). Then they claimed they closed at 5 (I called at 5 from the Police Station). I arrived at 6:45 in pouring rain and 50 degrees and was told someone would be there shortly to drive my car out, but never told there was $180 cash fee for a Boston resident for street cleaning. I decided to drive it out the OPEN gate myself. A tow driver then tried to RAM my car. I called 911. Even if I was wrong, they should have called the police. You don't use a vehicle to try to hit another vehicle. That is attempted assault with a deadly weapon. Another driver then tried to ram my car on Cambridge Street, and was driving recklessly in the rain during rush hour endangering multiple vehicles. That is a violation of ch 90 section 24 of Massachusetts general law. They decided to box me in and were yelling and kicking my automobile. The police had trouble getting to my vehicle because these two drivers blocked two roads of rush hour traffic. After the police left, the tow driver started following me. I called 911 again, was directed to the State Police. These tow trucks have police scanners and at this point the truck stopped following me. They do not have the authority to "trap" a motor vehicle on public roads. Harassment is also illegal. $180 for resident for street cleaning is ABSURD. They didn't work during covid, and federal/state funding was given based on 2019 tax returns. They should be investigated for tax evasion. The city of Boston needs to pull their contract. It was my first time getting towed in my life so I don't have much experience with such things, I have an old car so I don't bother much about dents or scratches either. I was towed for not moving my car for street cleaning which was fair. My car had starting problems because of which I couldn't move it on time and I was figuring out how to do it. I am giving full stars because in the evening these people helped me jump start my car so I could drive to a mechanic when I came to collect my towed car and couldn't drive it out on my own. TAX EVASION! I was towed because I parked on the street during street cleaning day, completely my fault, but man this is one very shady business. This place most definitely is evading taxes, I just filled out a form 3949-A so the IRS should be visiting them soon but let me tell you the multiple red flags I saw during the 20 minutes I was there. First, they lied to another customer that they were cash only but when he returned from his trip to an ATM the new customer at the counter was paying by card. He sees this and rightfully asks them why they lied to him. They made up an excuse saying that since the car he was picking up wasn't his car, they can only take cash. BUT, his name was literally on his registration that he showed them. Another customer was picking up a car with an out of state license plate and they said that he had to pay cash because of his out of state plate. How does that make any sense??? You're telling me that their card reader somehow can see the license plates in their lot? They will make up any excuse to make you pay cash which is a very common and very obvious tactic used to hide profits and then evade taxes. On top of that, they literally force you to sign a contract waiving them of all liability before you leave the lot. They don't let you turn on the car and check the transmission for damage before signing either. They literally took my keys when I tried to check even though I had already paid them. I'm pretty sure that forcing me to sign a contract is illegal. read more

My car was towed due to being on the wrong side of the street for street cleaning. Unfortunate, but ultimately my fault. I accept that I have to pay the towing and storage fee for that while at the same time believing the price tag and inappropriate treatment by this company is unacceptable and unjustified. When I called to ask where the car was and how much it would be to get it they told me but then said that I was not able to drive it off the lot due to a suspended license plate (which I do not have). I calmly stated my license plate was not suspended and asked what they needed me to bring to prove that. They flatly refused to give me an answer. They actually told me that there was nothing I could bring and they would have to tow it to a driveway/private property, costing an extra $120 (which is at least double if not triple a normal price to simply tow the car out of the parking lot and across the street). They also refuse to accept credit cards which screams tax evasion and/or money laundering since there is literally no other reason to not offer that in 2021 as you can make the customer pay the credit card fee and it would not cost the business a dime extra. The City of Boston's website clearly states that towing companies contracted by them accept cash, debit, and credit cards so they are also flagrantly violating what the city expects from them as contractors. Are they contracted to enforce the area's street sweeping rules? Yes, and I don't begrudge them that, but their predatory pricing structure, lack of basic respect, and scam pricing is unethical. To further show how much of a scam this supposed 'rule following' is, when they already had my money in hand and had towed the car back to the address I had given them to put it on a private property driveway as they insisted they HAD to do before payment, they simply deposited it on the street. We were told it would be 30 minutes until car was towed to desired destination... took 4 1/2 hours. The technician driver and company apparently told AAA that he was 15 min away... every hour that we were waiting. We asked AAA specifically to allow us to use this place because they were close to us. Big mistake. I understand that oftentimes the clients they are dealing with are not in the best mood given the circumstances but it doesn't give any employee the right to be extremely unprofessional. Had a run in with this tow company and One of the 2 gentleman who. I spoke to obviously hasn't a clue. If I am parked in a parking lot in front of a building that has a sign for no trespassing ,vehicles will be towed and no other info then how am I trespassing. If the spot is labeled for a specific business like the one beside my spot was then I would agree with him and more than happy to allow him to tow the commercial truck. Sign has no name, doesn't even say reserved, not a handicap spot and no other info then how is it trespassing. Watched a D&G driver reverse up to a car at about 20 mph while the driver was literally standing next to the driver door in front of the dunks at Washington St and Market St. Was so loud it sounded like a car accident and the owner of the vehicle looked like he almost got hit. I explicitly asked for my car to be released to my insurance and refused their services multiple times. my car was towed to their auto body shop instead of released to my insurance and towed to the shop that I chose. I feel that I was very clear in requesting that my car being released to insurance (given that I called the shop and went there in person TWO TIMES saying those exact words). I also verbally refused their services. I was either purposefully misunderstood or manipulated into signing forms that released my car to their auto body shop. Missed opportunities galore. I live in Back Bay and needed my car to be restarted. They tell me they won't because they're in Allston. This is a tow company not a pizza delivery. If you live in Back Bay, park in the wrong spot and get your car towed, more than likely, you're going to Brighton (which is a further distance) to get it out. Yes, I messed up. I'm the idiot who got my car towed. It still sucks and is stressful to have your car gone and have to pay lots of money to get it back. Few hints: *cash only *get it back sooner than later....they charge for holding your car there *try not to get it towed in the first place......real day ruiner. So they are efficient here, and the prices are much cheaper than on the west coast. That being said I almost had to climb through a window to get into my car. Acrobatics were necessary. Aggressive and an extreme lack of customer service seem to be an ongoing trend for reviews of this company, unfortunately, this review will be the same. My fiancé was working at a building his company was contracted to be at when going to go to the car he found it was towed. He called me to inform me that this was the case as we do share the vehicle. After hanging up with me he called the D&G towing who is also contracted with the same building as the towing company. When he contacted me back he stated that the guy he spoke to was very nice and had advised him that he could come over and pick up the car or leave it until the morning. My fiancé headed over to resolve the issue. He received another call and had to hang up with me. When he called me back he told me that another man had called him back and told him if he didn't have the 140 to pay he wouldn't be receiving the car back. He told me that when trying to explain to the man that he was authorized to be at this location as he is contracted the man started yelling and swearing at him. This all became very true when he reached the tow yard. The man was yelling and swearing and then speaking to his coworkers condescendingly about the situation. While listening to this unfold I could hear someone say "this is why I don't like dealing with this sh*t" and the rude man who later identifies himself as a supervisor say "don't worry about it he's not getting his car back until he pays the 140 bottom line". My fiancé then tells me he is going to call his supervisor as he was getting nowhere with this man. I was hesitant that he hang up because of how aggressive this man was and asked him to call me back as soon as he got off the phone so someone could hear this conversation. When he called me back, I asked him what happened, and he was still waiting at this tow lot and proceeded to explain to me the events that had transpired. This Supervisor jumped into our phone conversation and started to yell and swearing again. My fiancé asked him to stop in which he yells at him to "let him speak" asked him "why are you making this so difficult!". When earlier on in the conversation the D&G employee did not have the courtesy to even let my fiance explain that he didn't expect D&G to know he was authorized to park as he was working in the build which is why he left a note on the dash. I want to add this is after his supervisor and Director called This D&G employee and spoke to this supervisor over the phone confirming that he was authorized to park and the director attempting to make a payment over the phone with a credit card to resolve the issue. The Director of the company had to send my fiancé money (supervisor at D&G stated it was cash only) which he had to then go to a locked room where the ATM was to take the money out. Not only did the supervisor from D&G stand directly behind him while he used the ATM the entire time he then attempted to spark an argument stating "you might want to take a picture of that saying cash only and send it to your supervisor". After receiving payment and continuing to try to provoke my fiancé the entire time for that transaction as well he proceeded to follow him to the car yelling out "stop trying to make us look bad". I have done my research and on every bad review the owner states your not a customer please remove this review or because you're not a customer this review is false. This is appalling to me. I fully understand working as upper management in customer service myself that the customer is not always right and that having to deal with people all day is not easy. I can't speak to running a tow company I can appreciate that some customers are rude, however, the extreme lack of professionalism should not be tolerated and ANY complaint (customer, non-customer) should be taken seriously and not dismissed.
