I wasn't mad with the fact that they towed my car cause I understand they were just doing their job. I surely wasn't mad when they picked the phone. The lady and the man on the phone was kind enough and appreciated my patience. But they fact where a truck driver show up, refused to help and asked me to wait for manager to come in the freezing winter for an hour and refused my request to go inside and wait with contempt is unacceptable. Eventually a gentleman in a gray mission showed up and solved the issue. It was too late and I'm tired to check if there's any damages on the car. Could not be more clear: DO NOT USE D & G TOWING. They severely damaged my car upon towing and were very sketchy about how they would be fixing their damage. They told me they would be taking it to a certain auto body shop for repair but they never did. After it was fixed, Anthony at D & G Towing told me (after 4 days of asking for these documents) that he refused to provide me any documentation of their repair job and that it "was my problem". I had to issue a claim through insurance to finally receive these documents, and they were filled out incorrectly. Anthony was the most unprofessional, condescending and rudest person I have ever encountered in a customer service position. It was the most unacceptable and frustrating experience I have ever had, so much that I am leaving my first ever yelp review to dissuade people from using them. You will regret it. read more

If there was a 0 star, I would give one. This is the worst business that I've ever seen and this whole place looks like a criminal site conducting illegal activities. Here is my story: My car was towed during a street sweeping so I called the city to find out. When I got there, they rushed me in without even listening to me. And every question I ask, they either not answer or answer with a tone which sounds like I am an idiot. Besides the bad attitude, I was told cash only upon arrival. So when I tell them I will go back to get cash, I was not allowed to because they say I have to withdraw money from their ATM machine on site as they are in a hurry bla bla bla.... Ok, when I finally withdraw money using their ATM machine, it indicates there is a $3.5 fee which I understand. But later I find out that's not the case. In addition to that $3.5 fee, there are two another fees naming "withdraw pai" and "bal inq pai iso fee". It's not a lot of money but it's meant to rip every penny off you. Reading all the comments about the damaged vehicles, together with how the bad attitude and fishing this place is, I strong recommend everyone stay away from this place. Whoever this owner is, he or she needs to work on the entire team. Otherwise, this business is not go a long way. read more

These were the nicest people I've dealt with when it comes to getting towed! I showed up with around the same time as some other people who forgot about street cleaning. Total came to 145$ I only had 140$. Luckily my gf had an extra 5$ and the nice man at the counter let me run back to her car to grab it. Zero star! Worst towing company ever! Super rude staff and ridiculous policy. Like many of the other reviewers mentioned, their cash-only policy and $35 storage fee for zero minute storage are completely ridiculous. In addition, they also charged us for 6 miles of towing when they actually only towed the car for 0.4 mile. They claim that 6 miles was for dropping the paper work at the police station but they didn't stop at the police station at all! The guy manning the shop only kept yelling "that's the policy, you pay and you get the car". I'll complain with DPU for sure next Monday. The owner is a complete POS who lied and told me he wasn't around until next week, then admitted he owned the place. The driver reused to jack up my car (it was on the rims) but told me to drive it somewhere else. When I said I couldn't, he left. Protech came and did it in 2 minutes. Horrible service. Showed up 30 minutes after they said they would, had another car on the flatbed and said they were towing our car home first. Took them 4 hours to tow a car 86 miles. When I called to inquire where our car was, they said they had an "issue" halfway to our house. The issue was that they dropped the other car off first and the driver picked up his friend for the ride. I wouldn't have had any issue with the timeframe had they been honest in what they were doing. Would not recommend to anyone and am filing a complaint with AAA in the morning. read more

I created a Yelp account just to write this review. I am so grateful for these guys. Not only were they responsive and efficient when I needed to be towed, but they also saved me over $150 that I was about to spend at another service shop. One of my lug-nuts were cross-threaded (stuck) and another shop was going to charge me for having to break it off, buying a new lug-nut, and a labor fee. I brought it back to D&G and they did it for free within 30 minutes. I could not have been more grateful for these guys and their compassion for their customers. THEY ARE UNDERRATED!!! read more

I called the City to file a formal complaint as this was an abhorrent representation of the City of Boston, and I certainly don't want my tax dollars supporting this partnership. (617) 727-8400 is the consumer attorney general, they will mail you a form to file a complaint specific for 3rd party companies contracted by the City. **** I had a driver harass me over my maneuverability skills, while yelling out of his truck window! I was trying to pull my car out of their lot and I didn't want to hit one of their employee's bicycles that was against the fence. And that's just the TIP of the iceberg... Came out of my apartment as they were towing for street-sweeping. Totally my fault that the car was still on the street. But, they wouldn't let me move the car even though they weren't hooked up to it yet. That really upset me, and I admit I over-reacted. It felt like common human decency to cut someone a break. He didn't explain why I couldn't do that and just told me I couldn't move my car. That was infuriating and unprofessional. Upon calling, I found out that there are policies from the city that meant they can't wait for people to move their cars, as direction by the city (thank you girl on the phone for being kind + empathetic). Which is totally fine, but that should have been shared with me by the drivers rather than cussing me out and threatening to call the police on me. I asked the girl behind the counter to apologize to the gentleman on my behalf since I now understood the reason why. I was also embarrassed by my behavior and wanted to make it right. Then, after apologizing, I was mocked? Publicly? Are you kidding me? They also blocked my car in while I was putting my bike in the back, with the drivers side door open. I was clearly picking the car up but they purposefully blocked me in. I pointed out to the driver that I was about to leave and there were plenty of other places to put the car, he responded "someone will come move it." They made made me wait 30 minutes for another tow driver to move the car they had just placed. Then that same driver makes fun of me?? Tell me that doesn't sound like an immature form of revenge. They really need to invest in training drivers on conflict management and basic human decency. I've never been treated this way by any human being, ever. Tell your drivers to hop off their ego and just explain to people why things are happening the way they are. If the driver that picked up my car simply would have said "hey, I know this sucks, but the city has us follow a policy that means I can't wait for you to move your car" then all of this would have been avoided. It felt like every driver I interacted with was aggressive, malicious, and eager to frustrate me more. Rude, unprofessional, horrible service. I called AAA after two of my wheels were stolen overnight. A young kid from D&G shows up, talking on the phone to someone. Doesn't say hello or anything... just laughs on the phone about my situation to whoever he was talking to. Then he hangs up and rubs in my situation a little bit more, this time right to my face. Asks why I parked where I parked, and why I didn't have wheel locks. After a good 5 minutes of walking around the car grinning and being a complete jerk, he says... "there's no way I can tow this car without two wheels." I asked "what took you so long to tell me that, and why are you here?" He then threw a hissy fit and sped off. I've used roadside assistance quite a bit (more than I would like) and I've never had an experience anywhere close to this. If I have to call AAA in the Boston area again I am going to make one request... send ANY other tow company to help me. Just not D&G. read more

I lived on South st in brighton one year and for one reason or another couldnt get a permit because i am still in college and my moms name was on the car. My car was getting towed every week! The issue with that is there only suppose to tow every 1st and 3rd friday of the month. They are corrupt people who do not care. One time I was in my car with my keys and the guy didnt have my car hooked up yet. He blocked my path infront of me from leaving and a car was right behind me. I was just getting out of my car on Harvard Ave in Allston when I heard a loud truck horn, obnoxiously beeping and laying on the horn in traffic around 5pm. It got a few people's attention including mine. As I'm stepping out of my car a D&G truck speeds past me, and freaking yells something (!!???), right as they are going past me, possibly yelling ... at me? It honestly sounded like a homophobic slur rhyming with "maggot" (sorry Yelp, their words, not mine) but I find it hard to believe that they would be that dumb and overtly vulgar, although come to think of it, I wouldn't exactly be shocked. Anyways I was already in a bad mood so out of sheer curiosity and knee jerk impulse I jog/walked over to their... office..? place of "business", which I knew was around the corner from where I was having been towed there before. To see if it was indeed them and possibly have a word with them about their aggressive driving and yelling in my neighborhood. No big story here, but I did walk up and see a indeed couple of their trucks idling in front of the place and two dudes standing around, and one caught a glimpse of me walking down the street and said loudly said something like "Oh what's the matter with you!!?" in a way that signaled that he recognized me as the dude he had just yelled at and nearly clipped with his tow truck. However I was still far enough away where they could pretend not to notice me and it seemed they decided to opt for that treatment as I got closer. I ended up not saying anything to them because I was a bit confused by the guy's tactic (lol) and I realized I really couldn't be sure it was them, and I felt that a confrontation wouldn't have been productive... they probably would have denied it if I had said "scuse me are you the guys that just flew past me and yelled something and were beeping your horn and driving like maniacs through my neighborhood?" After walking past I kinda stood in the street and stared in their direction for a minute or two, just to see if they would notice me, and they didn't and drove off. I know this is a lot of words for not a lot of substance but I guess I just want to share that there seem to be one or two goons driving for D and G that are reckless, dangerous, careless possible maniacs who exemplify the worst stereotype that your mind might conjure when thinking of "Boston drivers" and "tow truck driver". I've seen other reviews confirming that they do things like drive dangerously, lay on the horn obnoxiously, and harass people, so the shoe definitely fits. I'm going to look into filing a complaint w City of Boston. Hopefully we can get straight up bad people like this off the roads before they seriously hurt someone, and/or harass more people, and just generally detract from the quality of the lives of the people that are near them. read more

My experience was positive, so I'm logging it, but please read the other reviews, too. Everyone I encountered was polite and efficient. I was charged $133 cash-only. From what I can gather, the way they itemize the bill is pretty goofy, but the total is not too unreasonable for a 24/7 service. The cash-only policy was a hassle, and seems fishy; they said once they were unable to collect out-of-state credit card payment. Fairly accessible location. Was in and out in a few minutes. They were rude and made us wait forever while they moved around all the cars in their lot to get mine from the back. I noticed scratches on other cars. Half the people INSIDE their office were NOT wearing masks. Blatant disregard for COVID-19 health standards. I hope and pray they run out of business or by some miracle are shut down. read more

I got towed for illegal parking. My fault, I think. Certainly not theirs. Got to the conveniently-located lot, was out 12 minutes later, with a professional-looking receipt. Charged every penny the state lets them, and no more (well, they overcharged 28 cents on the fuel surcharge). Take credit cards (in-state, VISA). Fast, efficient, polite. Friendly? No. But not as awful an experience as it could be. So I'm going to grade them on a curve- run as I would want a tow company to run. And no damage to my car- always a plus. read more

I first met the owner Delua, about 2 years ago... I asked him if they do body work besides towing. I was shopping around for a fair price on autobody work and didn't need to claim it in my car insurance, something simple. Very nice respectable, cordial man. Both him and his siter Angie, helped me with my situation, especially understanding my limited fixed income. We worked out a done deal, showing my gratitude with coffee and cake. He had given me a new bussiness card sponsoring his new autobody shop in Watertown that was opening soon, should I ever need autobody work. Again 6-8 months later I needed more body work done after my car was hit overnight and no one to report. My insurance covered most. The car was beautiful when I picked it up. I immediately wanted to show my gratitude and ordered a few large pizzas sent to the shop. Third time I needed my brakes done, and an oil change. No problem they got the job done. Anthony had given me a price for both. In the office it was a different story, their oversized junkyard lapdog raised up the price. I didn't argue, even though I felt it was a bit too much, I still liked their quality of work. I even sent them another round of large pizzas again and had brought them new customers. This last time, I had gear issues, took a chance in having it (with my AAA) towed there or the dealership. My thought was if they weren't able to deal with the issue I'm sure they would refer me to the dealership, which they did. As soon as I arrived there (to meet AAA again for another tow to Ford Dlrshp) not even 3 steps out of my friends vehicle towards the office door, the junkyard dog was coming out to me from the office asking me to pay up 120, telling me its for the hour mechanic had to work on the vehicle, the time the vehicle was storaged for (which was left against outside fence), and blatantly tells me the "$10,000 diagnostic machine" they used to discover the issue. (I had already spoken to their mechanic Toni before I got there and earlier with Angie). 1st of all, he didn't need to bring my business out in public in front of others around us, outside of the office, 2) it was a diagnostic test that takes no more than 15 mins. which there machine had not the capabilities to discover what and where exactly the issue was with the gears (only Ford Dealership diagn.machine would be able to detect as per what Anthony had earlier explained to me. I also spoke to Angie there was no mention of any cost, and she would have told me (even if it were at a reasonable price without the excuses). I was appalled at his bullying me in such an unprofessional demeaner towards me and how he tried to justify the cost of everything. I became very upset of the treatment I got from him. then he starts taking the price down after I asked to speak to Angie whom wasn't there. I didn't care to stick around, I said here take my card settle the amount (which he says he gave me a special discount to $50, and then go on to tell me he was going to report to Ford Dlrshp. how rude I was to him. He needs to look in the mirror and think again. I will never ever refer anyone to this place. Either that bully dog needs some serious ethical training on how to respect most worthy customers or they need to get a new pedigree or your business is going to cave in with his fat ass thinking he's the man when he can't even hold up his filthy dragging pants to cover his cracked ass. read more

First positive side: they are quick to response. I called my insurance Liberty Mutual and was put on hold for over 30 minutes. Then LM gave me D&G phone number. A tow truck showed up within a few minutes after I called. Their charge is ridiculous. A drive of less than 3 miles and changing one spare tire, they charged me $220. This is a rip off! And one of the guys took two umbrellas, the huge kind, with very sentimental values for me, from my car and decided to return only ONE. It was raining and dark, and I did not notice the missing umbrella until the next day! I would suggest that you don't use them unless you absolutely have to, and keep an good eye on your belongings. read more

My car was towed by these guys yesterday... First, to find out where the hell my car was, I had to chase down the tow truck down my street. That was fun. I then called the office to confirm that my car was there, and I got a nasty secretary who told me that their credit card machines were down and were accepting cash only. I only had 50 bucks in my account, and I asked if I had to wait to pay, and the credit machines only started working the next day, would I have to pay the overnight fee? And the answer was "of course, because its not their fault the credit machines weren't working" (well, it wasn't mine either). Also, they take people's main mode of transportation; how do you not know street/walking/public transportation directions?! After I borrowed money from my boyfriend, I went to get my car. My car was blocked in my a tow truck, and as I was putting my license away, I was ordered to "hurry up and move my car". Once I got to my car, my alarm went off, my seat belt was in 4 crazy knots around the steering wheel, and would not release. That's my seat belt. Do not mess with that please; it can literally save my life. Another worker asked what the issue was, and I said that its being taken care of; but the employee who was fixing the belt said "She's complaining about the seat belt" Wow, that was rude. Don't beak my seat belt, and maybe I won't complain about it. Pretty rude, pretty inconsiderate. Pretty sure I'm screwed if I get in an accident now. read more

The phone number they provide is a guy's cell phone who says he's out towing cars and to call back later. In that amount of time he could have redirected the call to someone else or tell me I had to go to the police station first before heading over there. But it's a towing company so what would I expect. Roberts down the street at least has someone sit by the phone in an office. read more

They just ran a stop sign and almost smashed into me and then flipped me off as if it was my fault. My car got towed from Brighton. I call D&G and the on phone, lady tells me to go to downtown to Boston PD for tow receipt. One hour and a $30 ride later I come to find out I'm at the wrong station. I call her back and now she's yelling, telling me to go to Brighton PD. No apology or acknowledgment of her mistake, ok that's fine, but when I ask her to repeat the address she says "look it up ok?" and proceeds to hang up on me. So, no definitely not ok, who treats people like that anyway? I call back to double check I got the right info this time, as well as find out who the rude lady that spoke to me was. The guy that picked up when I called back, Roberto, lied to my face and said that he didn't know the name of the woman I spoke to. At that point I realized she probably takes her cues from him and that I was fighting a losing battle. Quite the duo those two are over there. Despite me not know who she is, I'm hoping this gets to someone that does know and who can explain to her that regardless of other interactions she's had with customers (which I'm guessing in the tow business aren't always great), to please treat customers (they are people too) with basic courtesy and respect when dealing with them, and especially when you've just cost that customer an additional 2 hours and $60 in expenses because you gave them bad information. read more

I cannot believe these people have customers. While I understand that businesses in the greater Boston area need and want a company to patrol their parking lots, I would never recommend D&G to be the company to do so. My car was towed randomly after an hour of parking. They claimed it was 3, that the businesses in the area told them I had parked there, and that they patrolled the parking lots and saw that I had parked there all the time, for months. This is interesting because after a truly horrifying experience with the employees, I discussed the matter with the businesses in question who denied all of these statements, and the employees could not provide any documentation of my parking history. Their lot is unlit and incredibly dark, and their shack of an office is poorly run. Their employees are argumentative, hostile, and unprofessional. Their payment scheme is unpublished and inconsistent. It is in a horrible neighborhood and a dangerous location, and nobody should have to go there alone at night to retrieve their vehicle. I felt threatened, unsafe, and really feel as though there should be a better means of holding this company accountable for their practices. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I wish I could give less than 1 star. I have been towed by them twice, the first time it went smoothly because they could look up my registration and let me use a credit card. Although it was the same car and registration, they told me they couldn't look up my registration and made me pay cash the second time. That seems like a lie. In addition, and the more important part, their entire staff were extremely inappropriate and continuously made rude and inappropriate remarks towards me during the whole process. I really hope management becomes aware and actually trains their employees, although it seems doubtful because when I tried to bring it up to them they laughed about it and didn't seem affected. Car broke down and was parked overnight in a place that was illegal after 8am. The D&G dispatcher said the ETA for the tow truck was 90 min. After standing in subzero temperature for over 2 hrs, which is not the reason for the poor rating, the driver arrived. The tow truck operator was courteous, competent, and professional; the complete opposite of the dispatcher who did not know where driver was en route and was unable to predict when he would arrive (a simple cell phone call to the driver would resolve the location question). After about 3 calls to the dispatcher at increasingly shorter intervals, the dispatcher said "he'll get there when he gets there" and hung up on me. The rude, incompetent, and unprofessional dispatcher at D&G are a ZERO star rating. the tow truck operator is the only reason they received a better than awful rating. read more

After I was rear-ended at high speed on Memorial Drive, D&G was called by the State Police, who responded to the crash. I feel very fortunate - D&G was helpful, professional, communicated very well throughout. My situation was complicated: while the crash was 100% the other driver's fault, she disappeared and could not be contacted after the crash, and her insurance company questioned whether her insurance was valid (out of state policy, query where the car was actually garaged.) So it took quite a long time (40+ days) to resolve the claim. D&G kept me in the loop, let me know when they heard from the other driver (who recovered her car from D&G), from her insurance company, or mine. Once it was finally resolved, they mailed me my plates (I was out of state). All in all, D&G was great in a difficult situation. read more
