I know prices have gone up across the board in many things and services, but for two children's haircuts that is extremely excessive no matter how nice the haircut, or in this case not nice, it was not worth the price considering that neither of my children had their hair washed and were just sprayed damp with a water bottle and then given a trim and he used a hairdryer for a minute after the cut. We were not there long at all. Shame on me for not asking the price before or saying how outrageous the cost was, when I walked in and I made the appointment a few days prior would've never thought that two children's haircuts would cost $100 plus tip in a small and average hair service, would not call this a salon in Little Neck!

She went a few months ago to get her hair done for a wedding and loved the results at the beautiful price of...$25! The morning of my graduation party I already stubbornly made an appointment for a blowout at a different salon, but when my mom recommended this one, I dialed immediately. George, the owner, answered and he was very accommodating for my last minute needs. I walked in to the same salon I frequented years ago and everything looked the same (it was always a nice place, and it still is), except upstairs is a boutique (I didn't check it out so I can't comment on it, but it seems they have some nice handbags up there). After getting shampooed, Gladys did my hair. I told her my long list of hair problems and showed her a few pictures of blowouts in the past that I liked to give her an idea of what I wanted. She was friendly and maintained conversation with me the whole time. I felt like I got the most thorough hair analysis ever. She has an incredible eye for detail, works her brush and blowdryer magically, and gave me so many recommendations on hair treatment and upkeep I ended up making a list for myself to stay on track with my haircare maintenance. Like I preivously mentioned, my hair is a disaster. Because it's so thin, blowouts never look "full" enough. Not this time. My hair looked...luxurious. Seriously, I haven't seen body like that in years. My bf sister (17) and I were quoted $300 and $280 for our services, but upon arrival, the prices were raised to $320 each, with an unclear explanation from the manager. Despite this, I trusted them with a larger service involving a haircut and balayage. I explained my desired cut to both the manager and stylist Kevin, emphasizing layers and a shorter front. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was uneven, slanted, and not what I asked for. When I pointed out the issues, Kevin initially asked me to wait until he finished eating before making adjustments. Even after "fixing" it, the haircut was still slanted and shorter than I wanted. To make matters worse, I felt uncomfortable and disrespected during checkout. I tipped $10 despite my dissatisfaction, only to overhear the stylist complaining to the manager in another language about the tip amount while I was standing right there. The manager then attempted to shame me by comparing my tip to someone else's $80 tip and lecturing me about tipping etiquette, which I found highly inappropriate. I left feeling disrespected, unhappy with my haircut, and disheartened by the unprofessional behavior. I expected better from a salon I previously trusted, and trusted with a family member. Saturday. Apparently, they are "too busy" to serve you, even when the place is basically EMPTY. What should have been a short walk to a salon turned into a full-blown cold-weather endurance test for absolutely nothing. I have a stutter, so I use my phone to communicate with the receptionist. At the time 9:50am, there was literally ONE other customer in the entire place. Chairs. Space. Silence everywhere. I asked if they take reservations, and I was told, "No, we're busy. Come back Tuesday. Can you do Tuesday?" Busy. With WHAT? The air? I had already walked three blocks through frozen, snowy streets, then pushed myself to walk five more blocks in the cold to find another salon. This was DAYS after a major snowstorm. I was cold. I was shivering. I was uncomfortable. And for all that effort, I was basically told, "Nah. Try again another day." No explanation. No empathy. No attempt to help. Just turned away. So yeah, don't waste your time. If you go on a Saturday, be prepared to be told they're "too busy" even when the place is completely empty.
