The owner is extremely rude. He told me over the phone to bring my car in the next morning for an oil change. When I arrived, I asked if I could wait for my car. Immediately he got defensive and in a nasty tonesaid I'd need to pick up my car later on in the day. He did not say anything the day before when we spoke. I had no one to pick me up and I had to leave. He wasted a trip and my time. He claimed that he told me, but he did not. I took my car to BMW and as suspected the oil leak at the timing chain cover that I now own is due to the excessive oil pressure caused by overfilling the car with oil. In addition, BMW has informed me that they did not change the brake fluid like they said they did and charged me for it. My BMW convertible had a headlamp bulb malfunction and a fuel leak, so I checked out shops in my area (Wellington), and all of them tried to convince me that to get a new bulb would itself be a $1,000 job with parts and labor because they said an assembly would need to be changed out because it always goes bad. This was a flat out lie. Danny, the owner of German Car Repair, was the only guy to be willing to do ONLY what I needed, which was to get the bulb swapped out. Danny also suggested I just go on eBay and purchase two bulbs so I don't have to pay the retail price on the cost of the bulbs, then he would just change them both out for me for the cost of labor. He also texted me a photo of the correct brand and size to get, and suggested I also upgrade the bulbs to a more powerful bulb so they're brighter and better, and they are awesome now. As for the fuel leak, I needed a new fuel pump and sender unit, which they repaired in around 2 1/2 hours, which normally is a 4-5 job for many shops. I actually saved a ton of money on labor because he also was willing to clean gasoline that leaked into my backseat, diagnose and fix a bad fuse, check my tire pressure, and reset my pressure monitor all for FREE because I was a new customer and needed that extra work. This shop is nowhere near where I live, but I drove to Boca because of his reputation and because not only did he have the best prices, he was the ONLY dealer out of the last 5 that I tried who was honest with me. Places locally here always try to sell me service and extra crap that I don't need but Danny did not. He even took the time to talk to me and walk me through some maintenance things I didn't know about my car. This guy Danny is a Godsend, and I'm relieved I've finally found an honest mechanic who doesn't try to screw you on the parts. He communicates with you and will always be fair when he can. read more

I brought my car for a repair estimate. I spoke with Dani the owner and he said around 2000. I explained that I would need to know if it was higher or lower and he started yelling at me saying, " I don't wan to fix your car." He gave me a quote of 2000-3000 dollars. I asked him for an exact estimate before allowing him to work on it since I don't want to be hit with a bill I didn't agree too. Fast-forward, I took my car to Vista BMW (where I have historically serviced it) and they said it needed front brakes and a thermostat. There was nothing wrong with the break fluid or the rear breaks. Please be careful and make sure you get an honest quote. I fear this place feasts on Boca residents who know nothing about cars. The car ended up needing 1000 dollars of repairs. If you need your car fixed see Tyson at Vista BWM in Coconut Creek. I should never have brought my car to this shop. Also keep in mind, just because he has some good reviews means nothing. A lot of times business pay friends and relatives to post good reviews. Please do not let yourself get taken. read more

Having recently moved to Boca, we needed someone to service our 2 foreign cars. While (fortunately) we didn't need too much work done, Danny was so responsive and helpful that I can't recommend him highly enough. Most recently, I called to ask if he could service a Hyundai and he told me to stop in so he could take a look. When I arrived, he stopped working on the BMWs, Audis and Maseratis, quickly assessed the situation, and took care of the problem right there and then. It was so minor a fix, he refused my offer to pay for his services, saying, "you're a client, so don't worry about it". Seriously? He spent about 45 minutes or so figuring out what needed to be done and then fixing the problem, and he didn't want to be paid?? You just don't get that type of service or attitude today very often. I own a 2005 Audi Avant and am very particular who I have work on my car. When I lived in Chicago I had a wonderful garage that treated my car as their own and the owner is honest, fair and trustworthy. After I moved to Florida, I tried 3 garages until I found Danny, owner of German Car Repair. I don't write a lot of reviews unless the business deserves it and GCR does. GCR gets 5 stars because Danny uses text to respond to questions and does it quickly, he sends photos of the parts that were installed and the parts removed. He went above and beyond to make me happy by swapping out my battery free of charge, Sears would have charged $139 and would be a 2-hour wait. Slone, one of Danny's mechanics replaced it for free. Pricing is comparable to other shops, but they know German cars and they do it right once unlike other garages that tend to rush the repair through half-assing it. I highly recommend GCR as they know what they're doing and care about your experience. read more

I've never found a better mechanic shop. I have a MBenz and I've called these guys when I needed anything done. I brought it in for a repair and they were honest enought to tell me the repair is still under warranty and have MB fix it. After I brought it to MB, MB fixed the repair and told me it needed another repair that wasn't under warranty. Brought it back here and they told me and showed me why the repair wasn't needed. If you're not coming here for your MB non warranted repairs, then you should. Even if you think your warranty doesn't cover it, bring it here, they'll tell you if it is. Danny called me told me I have a blown turbo on my Audi A4 and quoted me $1500 and told me to rush and send him the authorization to start the repair well I called back few minutes later and when I said I didn't want to do the repair because i was thinking of just selling the car he all the sudden said that he reattached some hose that came loose and my car is running again now I'll let the people decide if I have a supposed "blown turbo" on a turbo engine car then my car would hardly be drivable yet he is now telling me after I didn't want to get the turbo repaired that my car is now apparently running smoothly. It seemed very fish also on the receipt he gave me it also stated "might be defective turbo" yet over the phone he told me it was blown. All in all I would definitely not recommend going here just save your money and save yourself the headache. read more

The Mercedes dealer wanted $1100 for my B service with a 2015 car with 9,000 miles. That is way too high for an oil change and lots of inspection items. German Car Repair was $500. Danny did not try to push any additional items and even changed my key batteries at cost of the batteries. I was always afraid to go somewhere else other than the dealer under lease and warranty but saving $700 is well worth the trip here.
