They even printed out a paper of possible cars that might have the part we needed as well as had tools we could borrow that we needed. At first he seemed nice and asked if we wanted to put our ice cream in the freezer as we went to the junk yard and I agreed. We didn't have much luck but it was our own fault even. So my friend (who is a male) returned the tools that were borrowed and there wasn't any problem at all until I walked into the office when all of a sudden just a socket just happened to be missing when things were fine for my friend. I believed him at first and went to look for the socket since took set was only opened at all near 1 car and did not find one socket. My friend did have a part but he put it down at the entrance of the junkyard and then got in his car and drove into the yard to find me. I can not stress enough about how HE WAS DRIVING INTO THE JUNKYARD when I saw him and got into the car to go look for the single socket. And than we were being surrounded in the car by all the non threatening employees (I'm really not trying to be mean when I say they all were standing around the car looking around as if they had not a clue what they were doing) as if to scare us I'm assuming. I believe it was the owner (the same guy in the first paragraph) asked me how much money I had on me which was $20 and why would I tell him any more especially when I was confused. I had to go into the office give him the $20 all while some customer that was talking to everybody there was making remarks about how I was stealing. I regret paying it but again at the time not really understanding the situation. Than later on talking to my friend about this insane nonsense that I truly believe there was not a socket missing. So long story short, I got robbed of $20 for a cheap socket that I have better ones I could have brought if they asked nicely as well as my 2 tubs of ice cream. I can't say for certain if it's cause I'm female or we just looked like easy targets to make some quick money off but they clearly made out with a win.

very friendly and very fair pricing. seemed very knowledgeable…read more will return again when i need parts

Definitely not closed like Yelp was showing recently. I'm also not too sure about the other reviews…read moresaying they don't speak English... I had no such experience here. I've been looking for a replacement fender for my car for a year or two. None of the junkyards around Chicago ever have it in the color I needed, so I started looking at places off I-55 down south. I was planning to visit my mom and sister and this junkyard isn't too far out of the way. I printed out the stock info I found in my internet search and stopped in. It's a pretty standard junkyard, crowded and lots of wrecked cars. They also sell used cars and have a shop. The owners are Turkish and were very friendly and pleasant the whole time I was there. They even went out and pulled the part for me. I was probably there around 40 minutes tops, and the whole time other folks were stopping by to pick up engines, ask about parts... I think one guy bought a car too. They were doing a brisk business. Payment was no problem, they take cards. My fender was in the condition described online and is the right one (including matching color) for my car. $90 for it, a fair price for a used part. I've seen them anywhere from $85 to $250 Great experience and I'll be back if I'm in the area and need something else. Be aware they step away for lunch at mid day based on the posted hours.

Let me start by saying that when I first called Tim answered the phone and was upset that I was…read morecalling in the first place and not the shop that did the work before cutting me off while I tried to explain the issue with the transmission they sold us and transferring the call to what I assume is the store/sales manager Mike. (not a great way to start the call) (Note this warranty is transferrable and the whole reason we purchased from them since we were in the middle of moving from one state to another and the only reason we did not have the shop call them directly is because we have moved out of state and are currently looking into working with another shop) I purchased a transmission for $1,725.00 on June 22nd 2020 from Neal Auto Parts with a warranty as stated above. We were sold a lemon for a transmission as after 600 (approx) miles the transmission is now throwing codes P0752 and P0700- again. After contacting the shop that worked on the transmission and Neal's we've been informed that they will replace the parts (which is great) but will only put $50 towards labor. I would understand this if we were close to the end of the warranty or if we were really hard on the car but the transmission should NOT be malfunctioning after only 600 miles. This would leave us with another $700+ bill (on the low side and if the labor rate was only $100) that shouldnt be in exsistence to begin with, as well as risking getting another transmission/selonoid pack from them that could have the same problems. When I contacted Mike at Neal Auto to see if the labor rate is negotable due to the malfunction being so soon after the purchase I was told "We cannot do this and this is why we have the warranty and unfortunatly mechanical things break, it is what it is" "if the selonoid is bad then this must be a known problem" "I understand why you are upset and why you feel like you are being screwed over but again it is what it is" Needless to say this is extremely dissapointing, frustrating, and quite frankly poor business practice. Update: They are so upset about my review and concerns that they have decided they will not work with the shop here and that "technically" we aren't the customer but that the shop that is 12 hours away is and will only work with them. What a bunch of man babies.
