Car Care & Repair LLC used the FIRST $126 to rack up a potential profit of $1,1817.30, minus $713 for two rear Continental tires. The remaining EXPLORATORY let-us-find-other-unrelated-BS-concerns-to-sell-you included the following replacements: cabin air filter ($133.56), engine air filter element ($215.47), Engine Coolant Expansion tank ($54.86), "BFLUSH" or break fluid flush ($120.43), Oil and filter change, synthetic ($134.53), and "align EURO" ($159.95). None of this had any relation to the check engine light, which O'Reilly diagnosed for free with the code for emission leak, generally related to a loose gas cap. So, Car Care & Repair, LLC, charges the SECOND $126 fee to diagnose the original problem, and claims the cost involved tools and equipment to locate the problem, which everyone knows is the cost of doing business. The owner said charges include his having to do an Internet search because the vehicle is a newer model. Again, COST of doing business. Why should a customer take the HIT of his lack of knowledge? Taking Scam Artistry to another level, Car Care & Repair, LLC, charges ALL CUSTOMERS A FEE FOR HAZMAT REMOVAL, regardless if they dispose of anything related to your vehicle or service. We were scammed $25.35. Now, ERIC, who identified himself as the owner was contacted for an explanation, not only was he initially rude, defensive, and obnoxious but failed to understand the concern with the fact that Car Care & Repair, LLC, FAILED TO GIVE NOTICE OF THE TWO DIAGNOSIS FOR THE ONE ISSUE. WHAT CAR CARE & REPAIR, LLC DID NOT KNOW: The vehicle is up-to-date on its scheduled maintenance service (A & B) by Mercedes and was recently serviced this year, a few months. The Servicer confirmed that an oil change and all items (SCAMS) are not necessary and to bring the vehicle in when in town to have the check engine light CLEARED. As for the tire replacements, Car Care & Repair, LLC, will not be doing that or any other jobs for our three vehicles. We'd rather drive the distance to an honest CERTIFIED Mercedes center or the dealership, being that none exist in Sumter. BEWARE of Car Care & Repair, LLC! Don't say you weren't warned. I do get my oil changed every 3000 miles when warranty requires 5000 because I do take care of my truck, too expensive not too. Well they said they would "misread" my mileage so it would keep my warranty valid. I dropped by on Monday to make sure my truck would be services on Friday as it was when they could schedule me in, they did not tell me they would accommodate my request then or at our first conversation either. Picked it up on Friday and the counter guy said he could not change the milage because it was wrong to do so. But lying to me that he would is quite acceptable in his mind apparently. The owner came over and started telling me about its a battle repeatedly until I told him we are not in a battle we have a disagreement that's all. He raised his voice and kept telling in about its a battle in business and I don't understand and kept ranting on and on. I told him it was ultimately my fault because I missed the milage but I would have gone somewhere else that would done my request. If I wasn't able to find another company I would have just done it myself because it would be out of warranty anyway and save myself $660 which was my bill, pretty excessive actually.

There was a rule changed that they can't use outside parts, even though I've gotten same service done and ordered tires from Tirerack and got them sent there over a year ago. Used them with no problems. I asked if I could come back and get my alignment done still. They said yes. Went to Discount Tire to get my tires mounted and balanced and went back to get my alignment. After waiting for some time, they tell me they're not able to do the alignment because they don't have time. Which was aggravating driving back and forth and trusted what they said. Made an appointment earlier in the week to get an alignment. When I got there, they told me they are no longer able to service my vehicle there. I asked why, they said because previous surveys I filled out, good or bad, hurt them. I reckon they have some sort of incentive scale with good surveys. Briefly talked with the owner and said "I'm sorry for being honest in the surveys. I didn't write anything nasty, just what I experienced. Didn't even go off on them why they made my appointment just to turn around and tell me they can't work on my car anymore. I think it's very juvenile and petty to do something like that over a survey and even making my appointment, making me come up there and waste my time. A simple phone call would of sufficed. Wild they confront a customer about a survey/review. I figured constructive criticism would help with the issues they have but they just take offense to it and worried more about bonuses than what the customer complaint is about. The owner did mentioned it wasn't a mom and pop shop, it's a dealership. Well, I understand that and that's why I wrote what I did on the surveys. There's a certain decorum and standard one has to hold. Tried my luck at Toyota, where I used to work at as well, and they were able to get me in and out in about 2 hours. No appointment, no issues, service writers friendly and acknowledge me, even if it was a "be with you in a moment". Some of the things I mentioned on previous surveys: Appointments should mean something. I shouldn't have to wait 3 hours after watching other people walk in without appointments get their vehicle in and go before my vehicle even gets brought in. Communicating with the customer should be like a proper conversation, not shuffling through papers, playing on the computer or phone, walking all over the place when we're in a fixed spot. etc etc TLDR - Don't give a constructive review/survey at Freedom Honda, could get you on a "no work on your vehicle anymore" statement.

These folks could have taken me to the cleaners…read more... I recently had my vehicle in for minor repairs at home in Virginia. We traveled for the holidays to visit family in Lugoff. I did not have an opportunity to do a shakedown between repairs and the trip. Around Fayetteville a chirping noise started coming from the engine compartment. Driving fine, gauges all look good. Over time the chirp turns into what sounds like bearing noise. Start thinking water pump. Traveling with my wife , a new rescue dog and all the rest (gifts etc). I decide I'm getting as close to family as possible before it quits. Truck continues to do fine despite this squeal. We make it to Lugoff late Christmas Eve. Truck running fine but that water pump has to be junk by now. Today talked with a very pleasant person at Randy's who said we could drop it off anytime. Truck is at Randy's a little before noon. Less than 90 minutes later I get a text the truck is ready and the bill is $40. Seems the tech that did the work at home did not route the new serpentine belt correctly. I called right away and spoke again with the same person. I was told the issue was as messaged and the bill was $40. I asked who did the work and if I could leave a tip for them. I was told Mr. Randy did the work himself. I insisted I be charged $100 and happily shared my billing details. They could have very easily told me I needed a new water pump as I suspected but instead did the right thing. A new and grateful customer. Thanks again.
