Nearly finished horseshoe, N/A Guinness, tea, waters, and a demolished grilled cheese kids meal.

Walked in to a packed restaurant, was told 20 minute wait, but was actually 5. That was a win. Was seated and had a drink order taken with drinks brought back immediately. Food order was placed and also was brought out quickly. Meals were delicious. If you want the dinners that start at four, don't arrive early, they don't start selling until 4 unless it's shepherd pie. Service was nice and speedy. Server Brooke was great!

I've always had a great dinner here! I am from Kansas City and HAVE to get a horseshoe every time I come to town. Their cheese sauce and fries are divine. I have had multiple different shoes and they are great. I had the walleye last time was crispy and tasty. I was a little reluctant due to it being fish but it is one of my favorite shoes! Definitely come visit!

The food and service was great. It's an Irish business and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good experience and a good meal. I had the Hamburger Horseshoe a lot of food good luck finishing it. They had a lot of variations for example they had a Ponyshoe or a Horseshoe you could get with different meats such as turkey, roast beef, hamburger, chicken etc..

Went on a Saturday evening and it was really busy. Got lucky and found seats at the bar so only had to wait about 5 minutes. I had the strawberry salad which is always good. My wife went with the boom-boom shrimp and she loved it. We had a starter of the 217 Baked Brie, which was the cheese with raspberry, chipotle, apple butter jam with slivered almonds. Our bartender/server was right on time throughout the meal and very helpful. Always enjoy the atmosphere of this spot. We'll be back often.

I love their pony shoes. Usually hamburger with spicy cheese sauce and no bread just to cut the carbs.

A staple in Springfield, IL! My mom and I go here every St. Patty's Day, and the wait is always just as long as it is on the holiday. As a native to the Springfield area, I already expected the long wait- about forty minutes on a Friday. The speed of food makes up for it (at least if you get horseshoes because they crank them out in bulk). The horseshoes (both my burger one and my boyfriend's Mac Daddy one) tasted plain, lacking flavor. It would've been more tasteful with a little bit of seasoning.

If I could bottle this place and sell it, I would. Super popular and super good. I want to say every day (or at least once a week) they have a chef's special horseshoes. The ambiance is chill and lowkey. Try it out!

Pony sized Turkey Horseshoe sandwich. Pony is less fries and cheese sauce and $1 cheaper than a Horseshoe.

A unique food famous to Springfield IL is the Horseshoe sandwich. Wanted to try at Charlie Parkers, but they close at 2. Google had this business and a few others as best horseshoe in Springfield. What is a horseshoe sandwich? It is Texas Toast, meat ( sliced turkey was my choice), and cheese sauce with fries on top. I don't eat much, so I chose Pony size, which is less cheese and fries. I also removed most bread. I ate most of it except some fries. This is a food to eat occasionally as it is filling. Similar to Louisville or Bardstown Hot Brown without fries.

Had to come while we were in town on a work trip. We heard the Horseshoe is what Springfield and D'arcys Pint do best! Service was surprisingly quick since this place is packed at all hours. Food was even better. If you're even in Springfield, this is a must!

Even with the place packed, we were seated quickly--big win! Brooke, our server, was super awesome and attentive throughout our meal. We started with the garlic cheese curds, which tasted great, but the portion was surprisingly small--just 10 pieces total. Not ideal for sharing between two people, and definitely tricky for a group of four considering the price. On the bright side, both the Bookkeeper's sandwich and the buffalo chicken sandwich absolutely delivered on flavor. Solid meal, even with the appetizer letdown!

What is Springfield IL known for? A dish called the horseshoe. Now, before I went anywhere (to try); I asked the hotel staff. Two ladies at the desk, (both said in unison): D Arcy's - I need to go to D Arcy's....so I did. I was skeptical of what "horseshoe" was going to be like....and the dish was crazy-good! A horseshoe consists of "small extrude" crinkle cut fries; a beef patty and cheese sauce. This place separates themselves (with) their cheese sauce; it's just superior! As I understand, it's a blend of cheeses...that come together and taste great on its own. But the fries...have a crispy cook to them...and they're done on inside quite well. Then you come a great beef patty flavor. This whole dish flat works! And look at the tables around you: everybody is having this dish.....horseshoes are all over the place!

Amazing food and service. Only complaint I have is the noon rush, really hard to get in the parking lot and pub.

Always a line. Springfield loves this place. It has our classic horseshoe in many different forms. Great food, great service.

Such a great "dive bar" feel too, I missed that. It's very clean, spacious and the outside aesthetic is great!! The fridge drink selections are fair! It was nice to have a Surfside and Miller High Life after being out of the country for so long. We didn't eat anything but had a great time with the drinks, sports on TV and selecting our own music on TouchTunes. I love those in bars. We came in at a decent hour, way before closing, maybe around 10 but the bar dining room was already packed up for closing -- chairs were put up. We sat at the bar, danced around and stepped outside a bit so it was alright. But I feel like with more drinks, music and the people that were on the way it would've been a great BLAST. The bartender said they were closing due to other engagements. Chevy was a pleasant bartender. I'll definitely be back to visit!
