Food.....Excellent! Dion't sit on the rooftop if you plan on eating. Takes a long time to get served. However, the waitress was very good. Note: If they ask what type of meat on your burger(grass fed or corn fed) be aware the grass fed id upcharged $5.00 for the same burger. They don't tell you this and we couldn't find it on the menu. A lot of sides are additionally charged. Watch out for this. Other than that and reluctance to dine on the rooftop. We'll be back. The burgers are only second to Tracks in Cary. read more

Normally, DC Cobbs is a wonderful and delicious place to eat, however, this last time it was quite the opposite. First off, I understand that this is a burger restaurant and is not very vegetarian friendly, but I have never had an issue before. I ordered a BLT with no bacon and the meal I received was absolutely horrible. In between two soggy slices of bread was one singular piece of lettuce and 2 of the smallest tomato slices I have ever seen. For $14 I would've thought they would have put a bit more lettuce and tomato if I didn't get bacon. The fries were good and so was our waitress. The bingo was fun and the place was busy, but I don't think I will be coming back. read more

I can not believe that this restaurant has the nerve to have in-door service while the rest of the restaurant community is struggling to do the right thing. We are in the midst of a global pandemic and the State Health Department has mandated NO INDOOR Service. I drove by today, January 13, 2021, at 2:00pm and the DC Cobb's McHenry dining room is full. If they can't follow the rules and contribute to the stop the spread mandate how can they be trusted with other food service rules. Clearly, the owner of this establishment will do anything for a buck. Don't eat there they can't be trusted. read more

Food is okay, but the service is awful. My order was wrong so many times i just gave up and ate the wrong meal. Music is very loud, and staff are sitting around on their phones. Talked with management a few times and they just seem snobby. My waitress the last time I went was okay, but other than that. I am going to stop coming here. Nice place! It's in a cute central McHenry area. The menu is pretty big with a lot of good options! I couldn't decide between some delicious salads, Mac & Cheese, or burgers but I wanted to try something that the waitress said would be good. I ordered their Hurricane burger, and wow, it was good. It's a big burger so make sure to come hungry, but it was flavorful. The place itself seemed clean and the staff was nice. I would go again and try other options on the menu because it was difficult to decide what to get since all the options seemed good. This time we literally got snowed on in their "heated covered dining area". This place was fantastic! They have great food and friendly staff. Also, delicious cocktails and awesome nachos! The avocado rolls are super tasty. Quesadilla is really good. Everything here was worth trying! Extremely easy to find with plenty of free parking right across the street. The restaurant is well laid out so tables are not crowded together. Be prepared for decisions as there are many toppings choices I really enjoyed the unique menu items. The service was very accommodating and friendly. We needed to cater some food for our large group at the McHenry Hampton Inn - and DC Cobbs was the winner! Why? Gianna and her catering team were the best. Gianna put together an amazing menu that catered to both vegetarians and non-veg, delivered it, set it up (without me there) and it was all ready to go when we arrived. Everything was the perfect temperature, food was delicious, and there was something for everyone. They even include an option for plates, utensils and napkins, of which we jumped on. It made the evening a breeze to attend. And it all fit into our budget. Again, the food was amazing and there were so many options and such delicious food for everyone's taste buds. We went for a very delicious brunch. I had heard raves about the corned beef hash and it was delicious!! Big chunks of corned beef and potatoes with a splash of cream. Really good. My husband had very wonderful biscuits and gravy. And we had to order a side order of perfectly cooked pork belly. Every thing we ordered was great! In the course of our brunch the kitchen manager stopped by to see how our food was and ask if we had any suggestions. Shortly after, one of the owners came by as well to check in. OK...DC Cobbs...I see you. I was totally unimpressed in my first few times to DC Coobs last year, pretty much wrote them off. I needed a place to do some laptop work and it was convenient. I ordered the Jalapeño Poppers from the app menu. They were simply perfect...stuffed with cheese and chorizo / wrapped in bacon. I will order these every time! Must try!! I sat on the outside patio near the water and it was really nice and relaxing. Service was great! I called my wife and she came down and had the boom boom shrimp. She enjoyed them as well. i went to dc cobbs tonight with my family to celebrate my sons birthday. Faith, our server was absolutely wonderful! she always updated us on how much longer the food would be and continuously checked on us to make sure we were okay. she was great with our children, she gave my kids fun straws, and went out of her way to ask my son his favorite color so she could put candles on the apple pie egg rolls for his birthday! i have never had a server that outgoing, fun, attentive and compassionate to me or my children. that was the best service we have ever received, we will be back and ask for her every time! read more

Went there for lunch on Saturday around 11:00. Not busy as they had just opened and got seated immediately. Our waitress Tina was phenomenal. We've been fortunate enough to have had her as our waitress before and her service is top notch. She was knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive. A great experience! The only odd part was walking into a full bar/restaurant with no signage or hostess. Our server was awesome! Attentive, friendly, fast and funny. We ordered (and split) Buffalo Cauliflower, Spinach Dip, Hart Italian Beef and homemade twix bars. Everything was delicious! It's February and we sat in the patio room overlooking the river. It was cold (again, it was like 18° outside) but it wasn't bad, just kept my coat on. The restaurant was much warmer. Looking forward to visiting the patio in the Spring! Have been here several times since our initial visit in 2018. We've been here twice during the Coronavirus - the first time was back in June and we sat outside under an umbrella covered table. We both had the Cobb salad, which were both delicious and our server was wonderful. Today was a different story, so I think this place is hit or miss. There were four of us and we had to wait for a table for lunch, but it was only about 10 min. We were seated inside and the tables were well distanced. However, the music was blaring so loud, we could barely hear each other talk. Our food - two chicken wraps, two Cobb salads, sweet potato fries - were just passable. Two of my dining companions that had the wraps said they were just "OK" and all of our sweet potato fries were overdone and too heavily seasoned. They were served with some kind of clear liquid in a cup that we had no idea what it was. We dipped a fry into it and it was basically liquid sugar. Very strange. Food is overpriced for what you get. Two Cobb salads, two iced teas, and one order of sweet potato fries was $41!! So with a tip, our lunch was almost $50!! And our service was pretty lousy this time. I have a feeling this young man was new, so I can't fault him for that, but he definitely needed better training. After he delivered our drinks, he didn't come back for about 15 minutes to take our order. We thought he left his shift or something! We looked around and couldn't even find him. He never checked on us during our meal. When he was taking our orders, he was very awkward and nervous. Maybe management can step up their game and provide some more training for these newer servers so they gain the confidence they need. This was the first time dining here for one of my guests and she said she'd never come back. Since we live in the area, we'll give it one more time in the future since like I said, it seems to be hit or miss. And please...turn down the music! Not all of your patrons are in their 20's and appreciate the blaring music! read more

Was very impressed with their menu and food! We were in on a Friday night and there was live music from a local artist outside on the patio. The view of the river from the patio added a nice element to the experience, and even when it started raining the evening was enjoyable as the outdoor space was fully covered with heaters. We started with the dynamite shrimp 9/10 and shared two main courses. Their menu was just the right size with a good portion dedicated to their burgers. We went with the BFM burger with an impossible patty 9/10 and the fish and chips 7/10. Good beer menu and service as well! read more

Is this like the BEST place to sit, chill, eat, drink, and observe the Fox River in McHenry, IL??? Came here after leaving the Volo Museum, this place is great. The patio, the indoor/outdoor seating options the waitress was also wonderful, hate I didn't get her name. She really worked with me to ensure I found a beer that I not only liked but that I was satisfied with. I was quite impressed with the 'Elvis Juice', my hubby had the Gumballhead, on tap, that's big. Then the pours of wine were a wine-lovers dream. They have so much to offer, how do you keep up? I wasn't that hungry so I settled for the cheese sticks.
