The decor inside is very nice and the area is so clean. All the servers were so nice and sweet, providing their recommendations! As for the food, I did enjoy the dimsum, but I will say its not the best I've ever had, but does hit the spot if you want something quick and convenient. They have another location in lincoln park & I would be interested in going there too! A frequent visitor here with friends for the big feasts as well as the afternoon lunch after a shopping trip from the Oakbrook. Here is a place which accommodates whatever you require for your occasion. They do have all day dimsum which is an excellent idea for the brunch tea time or afternoon tea time. Even considering as a dessert choice after the dinner. One of my favorites is the running yolk pastry. We have always enjoyed the seafood dishes from Oysters, shrimp, fish, to lobsters. Kids loved the ribs and fried rice. One of the recent favorites was Chicken soup with pork tripe and white peppers. Such a great dish for the cold chicken weather. Super sized for sharing too. This was a good discovery! I came here on a Friday evening to give them a try. We were seated right away and were given hot tea. The server gave us paper menu and there's a pencil on each table. We marked the dishes that we wanted to try at the small box next to the picture of the dish. After giving the order menu to our server, the dishes came one after another. We tried: STEAMED PORK BBQ BUN - this is always my favorite. I loved the soft bun and the meat/sauce inside wasn't overpowering. Just the way I like it. CRABMEAT WRAPPED W/SEAWEED- this was great. I prefer dipping it in chili oil rather than the sweet & spicy sauce BBQ PORK FRIED RICE - very satisfying GREEN ONION PORK BUN - I enjoyed the bun again. I'm not a big fan of green onion. Ordered the following that cost a bit more than $60 including a 20% tip: 1 soup dumpling 1 Baked Creamy Egg Yolk Bun 1 Portuguese style egg tart 1 Roast Pork Turnover 1 fired donut 1 Honey Sauce Short Ribs 1 Chinese broccoli w. oyster sauce The only thing I would not get again is the fired donut because I didn't see warm soy milk on the menu to dip it in; but that could have been because I was too excited for everything else. The staff were very friendly and responsive when we needed anything. Beautifully decorated space and the smell of a charcoal stove while eating was definitely a highlight. D Cuisine is Delicious. I'm from the northwest burbs and my choices are either Yu's Mandarin, Chef Ping, or Minghin. D Cuisine is more Cantonese style and is comparable to Minghin. Minghin's quality has slightly gone down, so D Cuisine is a nice change. The food came out rather slow, at times there would be 10-minutes of waiting in between the dishes we ordered. Maybe 10-minutes isn't a long time and I'm one of those degenerates who always wants things instaneously, but the wait was definitely noticeable. Food overall was good. They have an open-kitchen, or at least you can see in the kitchen through a big transparent glass, similar to what you see at Yu's Mandarin Schaumburg location. Service was good as well. Overall, I would go back if I'm in the area. I do like it, but from where I live, its about 45-minutes to get to, which for a self-proclaimed foodie, who will travel for food, this place isn't "Lets drive 45-minutes good". Once I stepped through the front door, I was thrusted into an authentic asian dining experience. Delicate porcelain vases and figurines lined the arched shelves. A large bonsai tree stood in front of the kitchen window where you could witness the magic that happens preparing the food. Everything felt pristine and clean. We had a large group and were seated in the section with several large tables. Although the tables were all taken and so many people, it didn't feel loud, chaotic, or any frazzled wait staff. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. It was nice she spoke mandarin as well as our family's native tongue, Taiwanese. We ordered so much food but our favorites were the braised beef short ribs and Stir Fried E-fu noodles. The noodles seemed like they were house-made. They were fresh, had a nice chew, and quite flavorful with the Lobster! The Peapod Tips are always a favorite vegetable dish. Salted but the leaves and stems are sweet. Unlike spinach or bokchoy that can some times have a bit of bitterness to it. The Largemouth Bass was tender and tasty but took a lot of work to separate several tiny bones from the meat in your mouth. The Oysters with garlic & vermicelli were GIGANTIC. It tasted like a very garlicky ocean. It had a strong flavor and unique texture. The Ginseng Chicken Broth Soup tasted medicinal but I felt 10X healthier after drinking it. As if the Ginseng zapped all the inflammation in my body with its subtle "spicy-ginger-esque" component. Egg Tarts were light and fluffy, not super sense like what I was expecting. I am a lifetime lover of dim sum and am always looking for the best around. I miss the old dim sum carts that can only be found in a few select places, but have become accustomed to the ordering just what we want off of the pictorial menu. I was happy to find a new dim sum place right next to my local Asian grocery. I took my daughters today and had to write a review right away. We were all blown away by the freshness and just how well made and delicate every thing we ordered was. The shrimp and bbq pork crepes were so light and thin, but flavorful and satisfying. I also ordered the1/2 Beijing duck which is two courses, one comes with crispy duck skin served with bao and scallions, and then the meat is stir fried with vegetables such as celery and snow pea pods. The deep fried minced pork dumplings were also fresh and yummy, super fluffy since they were just made. The staff is amazing as well, friendly and quick without hovering. Everyone looks neat as a on and fit in so well in the stylish and sleek dining room. I highly recommend checking them out, I plan on going back to try more dishes on the menu. Came here on a random Saturday afternoon before 12 o'clock noon to try to avoid the crowds in the rush. To our surprise, it was not completely full. They are occupying the old triple crown restaurant space from over a decade ago. The parking lot remains the same so it's pretty big, but it is shared. The menu here is huge and vast so be prepared to read through multiple pages and sides of the pages to figure out what you wanna order. They do have a very simple dim sum one pager as well to help you order and a traditional menu with the actual foods outside of dim sum. The food definitely arrived very quickly although with no rhyme or reason or order and that's OK. The food overall is very tasty and delicious and I have to say I'm happy that it is lighter on the salty your side meaning that I didn't leave here overly thirsty, and I didn't leave here drinking gallons of water, overcome all the salt intake. Some dishes are definitely a huge hit like the fried bread dough the congee and the deep-fried stuffed seaweed wrap Other dishes were good, although not standouts like the Taro puff the yang chow fried rice, the shumai and the xiao long bao. I have definitely had better tasting versions of these at other restaurants however, there is still good. The ambience of the place obviously is very new and modern so it's really cute and nice. They even have a private party space where there was a private party happening while I was having lunch. Lunch time on a Tuesday - relatively at 1/3 or half capacity. The dim sum is higher quality than most, shrimp is plump and noodles chewy (in the best way). The congee is 11/10. The wait staff and host were polite, efficient and most importantly leave you alone and don't chat you up. Usually my go to spot for Dim Sum, placed on online order at 10:16am for 11:00am pickup. Arrived at 10:45 and waited until 11:15am and they informed me that my order would be ready in another 30/35 minutes. I told them to cancel my order which theypromptly did (very nice hostess). Got a confirmation email for my order to be ready at 11:54 am. I'm a professional Chef and Dim Sum dumplings are prepped ahead of time and steamed/fried off to order (especially for brunch service in a large restaurant). Don't take online orders if you can't meet demand. BTW they open at 10:30am so their kitchen staff probably arrives a between 6-8am (my breakfast crew arrives at 6am for 8am open). read more

My hubby and I have been on the hunt for authentic dim sum since moving to the Midwest and we finally found it! D Cuisine is such a hidden gem. A little outside of Chicagoland, it's definitely worth a visit. Their dim sum is comparable to what we used to have in Vancouver, Canada which to us still holds the candle for best dim sum outside of Asia. What an excellent and authentic addition to the suburbs! It is incredibly convenient for us. Prior to D Cuisine, our options were either in Naperville or Chinatown. This one is closer to home and there is plenty of parking with a nearby grocery store for those who would want to check off groceries in one spot. It really doesn't get better than this in my opinion. Generally speaking, all of the dishes ordered, we noticed they were not overly oily or filled with starch or MSG, which for me is a good thing but for others it may come off as lacking in flavor. You can especially taste this is the Siu Mai. Star of the evening was the egg yolk bun. Fresh and creamy when bit into. Dining area is very spacious and staff is abundant and helpful. I've never had cuttlefish before but this flavor was so good. My go-to with dim sum is tripe, the crepe, and Chinese broccoli, the quality and flavor was consistent and fresh. We had a night mare after having dim sum at D Cuisine! We invited our friends to have dim sum at D Cuisine around 3pm on New Year Day. We ordered a lot of different dishes to let them try. We had had lunch/dinner quite a few times at this restaurant before and was satisfied with the food & service. This time was disappointed with the food, to say the very least. First the tea brought to our table was just warm, not hot at all. Second, the Liu Sha Bao (creamy egg york buns) was bit disappointment - no liu sha (no inside running out). The inside of the bao is just a hollowed space with a little bit of solid sweet orange-color paste. The BBQ pastry (Char Siu Pastry) didn't look brow enough & was not crisp. The inside part? No layers as the pastry should look like, but looked like some kind of dough! The worst thing was the nightmare our friends got. The night they got home, the man started to vomit & later got fever. The lady had the left over Liu Sha Bao & part of the Char Siu Pastry the next morning (1/2) and started to have diarrhea after half an hour. Do we dare to have dim sum there any more? No way! My wife and I used to order all the time from their Chicago location all the time when we were still in the city. I'm happy to see they've followed us out to the western suburbs. Similar to their city location, inside is clean, modern and refined looking but much larger space (welcome to the burbs!). Dim sum options seemed to be identical and a good selection of main entrees to choose from. We did a mix of both dim sum and various entrees to share family style and it did not disappoint. Really enjoyed the seafood chow mein, Japanese tofu over vegetables, and pork congee with preserved eggs to name a few. Looking forward to many more visits here in the future. We returned to the Chinese strip mall here to try the dim sum at D Cuisine.  While D Cuisine took over this location from Yu's Mandarin only within the last year, we've actually eaten at this location numerous times decades ago when we used to live in Naperville.  We actually held our daughter's high school graduation celebration dinner at the Triple Crown that was here way back in 2002 (omg and yikes, that's 22 years ago)! Anyway, reminiscing aside, the remodeled interior was spacious, contemporary, airy, and comfortable, and still had a familiar feel for us.  We ordered 6 dim sum dishes (see itemized bill photo for the dishes), and overall they were 4 star good, so it was a nice outing.  But there were little deducts from a 5 star outing - like the beef tripe was a little chewy, and the first pot of tea wasn't piping hot, but rather just mildly hot.  The beef crepe, siu mai, and creamy egg yolk buns were standouts though.  I didn't like the taste of the vegetable crepe but I think that's the wife's bad for ordering it lol, and not the restaurant's bad.  Service was efficient and attentive.  They have a big and extensive menu, lunch specials, and also have 20% off Happy Hours from 3 - 5pm Mon - Fri.  Parking is plentiful and easy.  There was also a quite good lunch crowd for a weekday.   We considered going to the D Cuisine in Lincoln Park to try that location, but decided the commute, congestion, and lack of parking there were non-starters and I'm glad we came here instead.  I look forward to returning here sometime when we are thinking of our next suburban dim sum outing. read more
